This is the Original Miss Kitty's Fishing Getaways house! We started renting this house in March 2004 and it has remained a favorite over the years due to its cozy accommodations, incredible views, and consistently good fishing! We have made a lot of changes to Miss Kitty's since we first started renting it including: new French doors on the back of the house so the view can be enjoyed from the living room, a totally remodeled bathroom, new furniture, new built in bunk beds, and finally a new kitchen!! We would like to thank all of our customers for helping us get our start with this wonderful home. Miss Kitty lives on the back porch of this... house, so come say hi! We are kid friendly (we have 2 of our own). We know you'll enjoy your stay!
With the new French doors, you can see Copano Bay out the back when you enter the house! The main living area is a cozy space for watching TV or movies. A second living area has a day bed for extra seating and sleeping.The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped for all your cooking and serving needs. The dining table seats 6 and the bar seats 4.
The master bedroom has a new queen size bed and Copano Bay views. The second bedroom also has a queen size bed. There are two bathrooms - one with a tub/shower and the other a shower. This is a one story house with only one step up to the front door.
Kids will love the new built-in bunk beds that we put in what had been a useless closet in the living room. Along with the daybed and trundle, The Original Fishing Getaway sleeps up to eight people.
Miss Kitty was a sun-faded calico who lived on the back porch of The Original Miss Kitty's Fishing Getaway house. When we bought the house in 2004, we agreed to keep Miss Kitty who was about 14 years old at that time. We named the house after her and began renting it out to people who loved to fish. The vacationers always fed and took care of Miss Kitty and many came to love her just as we did.
Miss Kitty's favorite treat was fish bellies. The neighbor, JD, fed her many fish bellies over the years and towards the end, she liked to sun on the deck at JD's house. Miss Kitty was joined by a younger calico a few years back that we call Miss Kitty 2. She will actually join you out on the pier while you are fishing!
Downtown Rockport is only 10 minutes away with great shopping and fine dining. The Port Aransas ferry to the gulf beaches is only 20 minutes away. Other area activities include kayaking, bird watching, whooping crane tours, off-shore fishing, gambling cruises, duck and deer hunting, museums and many festivals including Oysterfest, Seafair, Shrimporee and Sandfest.

I loved this house. It is very clean and has all the amenities you need. It's like walking into your own house, just bring your clothes and that's all you need. Miss Kitty does an outstanding job of making every house feel like it's your own house and I love renting from them!
There were dead roaches in the kitchen the exterminator
had been there before our reservation. The house wah hot. there were 3 ac filters stacked together and full of dust.we changed the filter out. the house smelled musty. we had to buy frebreze and candles to hide the smell. The front yard looked like a jungle. my grandkids said it look haunted. the backyard was beautiful except when it was time to BBQ.
.I had to clean both barbeque pits-before and after use.
previous renters did not read the rules about the penalty fee
Next time cool off the house before your renters arrive. the reservations and the time of the arrival is set in stone.

We loved Miss Kitty's Original Getaway! Being a lover of cats helps as we truly enjoyed feeding and playing with Miss Kitty (we are both families with cats at home). The house was just right for two couples. The set up is great. We had wonderful times sitting at the end of the pier fishing or just watching people in kayaks, the ducks, and the sunrises and sunsets. We will definitely come again!
This was my second time to stay at miss kitty's We had a great time as always, and is a great place to relax and stay. My only complaint was this time there were only 2 3 crab traps that were pretty beat up the last time we stayed they had 5. Also all I was able to catch were the hard head cat fish, which there were tons I would of really liked to catch something different. Other than that the house was awesome and the views were beautiful!!!
