The photos are accurate. The home is right on the water. As we pulled up to the home a spray of ocean water greeted us. We were thrilled the loaction was the best. We were tired after a long drive. The first night we fell asleep on the couch. I felt things crawling on me but thought it was just exhaustion from the long drive. The following day I reached into the drawer for a fork and and found a quick running roach. I screamed and hoped it was a fluke. It was not. As I opened the cabniets they ran, large and small. I contacted Midgett Reality and was told they were water bugs and everyone had them. I may be from the north but they were roaches. There was another bug that may have been a water bug not sure. The agency explained that the owners had decided not to use pest control. They sent a company over to spray. That night it was even worse they were in every room of the house including the bed upstaires. I called again and they sent the company once again. It became common to see them day and night. While watching TV at night I would kill ten or so with my shoe. The rental agnecy did not offer to move us. I refused to enter the kitchen area after dark. I started bagging the dead bugs to show the agency that they were roaches and it was disgusting. I left the full baggie with the key when we left. The location was perfect . It was our first trip to the Outer Banks and we will be back. I will never use the same agency. We spent two weeks with roaches. My new husband was better than I with it. We did our best to spend very little time in the home. The outside deck was great. The Outer Banks is amazing we will be back but not at this home. Also we only needed one of the bedrooms which was a good thing as only the upstaires mattress was in decent condition.
