Great location: in the very Centre of Rome, in the Prati district, a few steps away from Vatican City and from "Ottaviano-St. Peter's-Vatican museums". Underground station. This is an excellent location in central Rome, particularly so if you have some Vatican-centric activities in your itinerary. Matilde is an excellent host and the B&B; is very nice. Our room was quite comfortable and quiet. I would highly recommend For My Friends B&B.; It is an excellent value for the money.

les petits déjeuners sont vraiment copieux.
nous sommes une famille française avec deux adolescents de 16 et 14 ans qui ont aussi été enchantés par le lieu et l'accueil.

Matilda was so incredibly thoughtful and insightful. She did things to make our stay comfortable that you'd find hard to believe. Really.
Her home is absolutely gorgeous. She has a gift for color and pattern and texture. Everything is spotless. She had extra soaps and shampoos in the bathroom, and a clean, powerful hairdryer. Great towels. Easy-to-understand and adjust radiators. Ditto for the shower controls. Did I mention everything is always spotless? We were there 5 days.
The breakfast is out-of-this-world huge and varied. No matter your nationality or background, you'll find more than enough to eat of things you like. Fresh fruits, yogurts, pastries made that day, jams, jellies (homemade, some of them!), hard-boiled eggs, butter, spreads, granola, milk, teas of all kinds, all presented in pretty dishes like a food stylist! And coffee... she kept replenishing the coffee without being asked, and every day asked "Is there something else you would like for tomorrow's breakfast? Eggs, pastries?" I can't remember everything she offered for breakfast, it was so huge!
The whole place was quiet, very easy to find, and it was so easy to get to St. Peter's and the Ottaviano metro.
Matilda gave us the perfect balance of privacy and assistance. While I've been writing this review, I've been trying to think of anything to add that's not positive, and the only thing is - I was there were a little more drawer space. That's all. Lighting, heating, sound, beds, sheets, cleanliness, bath, towels, food, washing machine, etc., etc. Perfect. I can recommendation whole-heartedly.

Matilde was an incledible host, she looked after us and made as feel as if we were at home. She made us a wonderful breakfast every morning and we had an opportunity to chat about our plans for the day and offer many helpful suggestions. Her recommendations for dinner were also very good and we enjoyed the personal attention and great food at each restaurant she suggested. The location was very convenient allowing for us to tour the City using the public transit and all it's wonders. You can access any form of transportation you choose in just a short walk or you could even walk to many of the areas in the surrounding neighborhoods. It was quiet and very safe even well into the evening. We are a family of 5 with kids 13 and 15 and their grandmother with us. The rooms were perfect for the 5 of us, very clean, lots of room and all the comforts of home. The artistic decore and the impecable taste of Matilde certainly added to our Roma experience. The courtyard provided an added touch that is unique, with the ability to meet many of the very pleasant neighbors in the building. They were all so very nice and we shared many long chats with a number of them. They also appreciate Matilde very much. When we return to Roma (and we will) we will stay with Matilde again and expect to continue the friendship we have gained! Hopefully some day she will acccept our invitation to come stay with us in Canada.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms are nice and very clean. Metro and tram are nearby and you'll find lots of nice restaurants. Excellent location,close to Vatican. Great braekfast! Matilde, the owner, is just lovely!

Recently stayed at this b&b; for three nights on the tail-end of my honeymoon. Due to transportation issues, we arrived nearly two hours later than our intended check-in time, but the owner, Matilde, was very understanding and even offered us some of her homemade lunch (we probably looked starved, because we were). The b&b; was easy to find, just a few minutes walking distance from the Ottaviano subway station. It is in a traditional Roman low-rise apartment complex with a courtyard, on a quiet street with many similar residential buildings and a few businesses. The place is a testament to Matilde's impeccable taste. She showcases her Florentine, Master of Fine arts degree in the entrance, but really, just the walls ooze her artistic expertise. We stayed in the double occupancy room which is simple, tasteful and has numerous details to appreciate, from classic prints on the wall to a retro mini Pepsi fridge. The room is small by North american standards, but quite spacious for a European capital. The en suite bathroom was large and very modern with it's monochromatic grey tiles, had a blow dryer, linens and toiletries at our disposal. Continental breakfast was delicious, always on time and very nicely presented in the pretty living/dining area (accessible only at breakfast). You could even hear Matilde working away on her latest sculpure in the background. There was no air conditioning, but we were there during august and sleeping at night was still comfortable thanks to a fan and very large windows (big shutters to keep the bugs out). We didn't spend much time indoors during the day, except for one afternoon nap, which was warm, but bearable. The close proximity to the Vatican was great, you can walk there in about 10 minutes. The neighbourhood is not high-end by any means, but not shady. Felt safe coming home late at night. I would totally recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy and original place to stay (our stay was under 85 euros during high season).

We really enjoyed our stay in Mathilde's B&B.; The room was quiet and comfortable with its proper showerroom. Our host gave us a warme hospitality and helped us with all our question. Our three days in Roma were perfect and we would not hesitate to come back to her place.

E' senz'altro uno tra i migliori Bed & Breakfast in cui sia stata: l'opinione è largamente condivisa anche da mia figlia di 13 anni e da mia madre di 74 con cui ho trascorso un magnifico weekend. La posizione centrale consente di raggiungere facilmente (con i mezzi pubblici) tutti i luoghi imperdibili di Roma. La stanza (con soppalco) è luminosa, ampia e molto accogliente. Abbiamo trovato il confort e il gusto di una casa ben organizzata e una padrona di casa molto simpatica che ci ha riservato un'accoglienza perfetta e discreta.
La stanza è curata nei dettagli e il bagno è spazioso e ben organizzato. I servizi sono eccellenti: colazione ricca, abbondante e di ottima qualità , possibilità di connessione wifi e un'ottima biblioteca in camera a disposizone degli ospiti.
Siamo partite con una gran voglia di tornare e di consigliare questo indirizzo agli amici. -

Oltre ad avere le qualità necessarie per poter definirlo un B&B; eccellente (centralità ,pulizia,comodità ,eleganza),ho sempre trovato nella padrona di casa una sincera predisposizione all'ospitalità ,non frequentemente riscontrabile.
Dal mio punto di vista,un soggiorno al For My Friends equivale al farmi una coccola. -

Recentemente sono stata al B&B; For my friends a Roma e mi sono trovata benissimo. La zona è centrale e vicinissima alla metropolitana. La casa è accogliente, elegante senza essere eccessiva.Pulizia, accoglienza senza invasione della propria privacy regnano in quel luogo e il prezzo è accessibile.Quando sono riparttita ho avuto una sensazione strana:come se lasciassi la mia casa.
