Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in April 2013
You will not find a kinder more helpful host than Silvia. She will make you feel right at home. Private bedroom and bathroom. Delicious and generous breakfast. Less than ten minutes from the Vatican and reasonable walking distance from everything else. Located near markets, restaurants, etc. Good WiFi connection. We truly enjoyed our 5days here
and would recommend it to others. The only negative is the street noise and we solved that problem with earplugs Silvia went out of her way to accommodate our wishes. We will miss her smile and pleasant conversation.Response from Silvia Di Emidio - 05/17/2013

Left on 05/14/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My family (me, my lil sis, and my 64 y.o. parents) stayed at Silvia's, last month, during our Euro Trip. Silvia helped us arranging a car and driver to pick us up from the airport, and greeted us in front of the house with her adorable dog.
The apartment is sooo, if not very, beautiful! It has that Italian style decor in front of the building, but once you get inside the apartment, it's another different setting... it's well-furnished, well-designed... meticulously tidy, creative, and homey all at once!
It only took us 10 minutes of walking to get to Vatican and even less to the dazzling Old Rome area. You don't really need to use the public transportation. Should you need additional info about where else to go or to eat, Silvia has the answer. You can either take the free map of Rome, or read the book of recommendation wrote by travelers who once stayed at the apartment, too. Such a great help!
There's only one bad thing, though.. we only stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights only! The place is way to awesome, we should've stayed even longer! :)
Thanks a lot, Silvia! My parents still can't stop talking to everyone we know about just how perfect your apartment is! :)

When it comes to a Rome B & B location, Brightside of Rome is the best! So close to the Vatican, Tiber, sites and wonderful dining options... Silvia was very welcoming and offered excellent advice for getting around Rome.
The breakfasts were wonderful and kept us going thru the day. It was so nice to have access to a frig to keep water and wine chilled. At times it was like having our own apartment in Rome!
The room and bathroom were spotless! The door locks were at times tricky, but we always made it in... The Wi-fi was certainly a bonus we enjoyed...
The vehicle street noise was louder in the afternoon and calmed down at night.
I would definitely choose Brightside again! Thanks, Silvia!

The Vatican BB Centre is really central, easy to reach and a great location to start exploring Rome. The BB is very nicely decorated and you feel at home from the very beginning. We had to leave early (6am) and it was no problem to serve ourselves breakfast and take out of the fridge anything we needed. Thanks! The only downside is the noise from the main street, but the view onto the river and the trees is balancing it well.

We miss this place already!
There were four of staying here, and each couple had their own big bedroom and bathroom. The shower stalls are small and cute, but it's the best hot water and pressure you'll find in Rome!
The living/dining area is much bigger than I expected.
We made our meals in the kitchen space, that has a spacious refrigerator, toaster,
coffee maker and a dishwasher! Plenty of towels available.
Clean, clean, clean!
Awesome wifi.
The apartment is very close to St. Peter's Basilica. And a short walk to Campo di Fiori and Trestevere. We walked to The Colosseum which was a nice good walk.
There is a bus stop very close where you can take the tiny elettrico #116 bus for a fun, amusement-park type ride through the cobblestoned streets of Rome. We took it to the end if the line which drops you off at Borghese Villa.
The apartment is sweetly decorated, and you can tell how much Silvia the owner
cares about her place!
We will stay here again!

Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We came in as a family of six, four teenagers, me and my wife. The place is excellent for going around Rome as a bus stop is only a few steps away. Silvia and the flat are everything what the articles say and more. The flat was big enough for the six of us, well kept, and a really lovely place full of charm. Silvia made sure that every little detail was attended to, even making sure that we had the little treats such as pasta, pasta sauce, olive oil, sugar, coffee, salt, and of course, the lovely cake which my kids are now addicted to. Thanks Silvia!!!

Silvia does her very best to make your stay as wonderful as possible. Her flat is clean and a great place to stay for a family. It is close to all of Rome's major attractions. Everything is within an hour's walking distance. The Vatican City is just five minutes away.
Silvia shared some great ideas for things to do and see in Rome and is a great resource for your trip.
Your bedroom faces the street and traffic noise can, at times, be noisy, so bring some earplugs, but this adds to the charm of the flat, and you can't beat being part of the street scene. We stayed for six nights and got used to the noise, and appreciated the location.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to my friends and acquaintances.Response from Silvia Di Emidio - 04/04/2013

This room is excellent. Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and very well located. You can walk everywhere, it´s ten minutes walk from Vatican City, historical centre and Trastevere.
You have TV in the room and private bathroom. And the breakfast is very good. Silvia, the host, is very nice and helpful. Absotutely recommended. -

We had a wonderful stay at this really charming B&B.; Silvia is the best host you can imagine and with her super cute appartment our trip to Rome is one of the best trips we made! We are glad we decided for Silvia, because the location of the appartment couldn't be any better! It is so close of everything - perfect even for short Rome trips! Her recommendations were really good and so we had an unforgettable stay!
Surely we are coming back - not only to see more of Rome, but to visit Brightside again! :) -

From our very few moments in the apartment we knew we are going to have a wonderful stay! Silvia's apartment was not only beautifully decorated, hospitable and warm but also located in a great location near the Vatican and beautiful Trastevere.
We were five adults and all found the apartment to be really comfortable with the two separate bathrooms, great kitchen equipped with everything we needed and more, great beds and all together our first great success in Rome.
Around the apartment are several bus stops with lines that go around the city allowing you to get to main attractions with ease (although we would recommend walking for the full experience).
Lots of nice places to eat in a short walking distance in Trastevere , and just walking around the area is really nice.
Silvia was very easy to contact and helped us with anything and everything we needed.
We are extremely satisfied with our choice to stay there - would definitely recommend it to families, couples - anyone!
The apartment (and Silvia and her nice parents) deserve every praise - don't hesitate to book it - you will not regret it.

The B&B; The Brightside of Rome represents what you would like to expect from a comfortable, cheap and unforgettable stay in Rome: located in a strategic position (being close by S. Pietro cathedral and the most famous sightseeings of Rome reachable by walk without any problems); wonderful and romantic view of Tevere river from the windows of the rooms with Castel Sant'Angelo on the background; very nice and top clean structure having a "sweet home" atmosfhere making you feeling at home; great hospitality and welcoming given by the host Silvia, very kind and available with her guests. No remarks to point out at all. I would like to recommend this location for your stay in Rome!

We needed to stay for a long week-end in Rome.
Ideally located, we could wonder around without using public transportation, being at a few steps from the Vatican, Trastevere and Piazza Navona.

This is the best bnb I stayed in my whole trip in Italy!!! Silvia is a super nice host she waited for our arrival in front of her building in midnight even though we were not able to give her a call, Bcoz it was the first night we arrived we did not have any sim card to make any call as we landed Rome from a late night flight... And then she had everything prepared like map, recommendation of spots, restaurants, how to get around, and explained everything in detail very clearly without rushing... Breakfast is very nice with large variety of drinks and bakery, the room is very nice with private bath and lovely decoration as we saw in the photos. What you see is what you get. Very good location too u can go to basically most places by foot, and there are bus stops nearby if u don't wanna walk. Highly recommend this lovely bnb with very reasonable price too!

Appartment is clean and cozy, furnished and decorated with a good taste. We felt very comfortable staying in Brightside for 5 days.
Location is absolutely great. We didn't have to use public transport, just walked a lot. One day we walked to Coloseum, next day to Spanish steps. Vatican is a neighborhood. We can't imagine better place to start sightseeing when in Rome.
But the best of all is Silvia herself. She is a wonderful hostess and a great person. She welcomed us with a big smile when we arrived. She adviced where to go for dinner, what is the best place for shopping, etc. She was making our mornings sweet (breakfasts) and cheerful. Yes, Silvia is really special :)Response from Silvia Di Emidio - 12/03/2012

We really enjoyed our stay with Brightside BB. It was a close 10 minute walk to the Vatican. If you wish to experience Rome as a local, look no further than staying here.
Room was clean, the host was simply amazing, so much so when we returned from Sorrento, we purposely stayed an extra night with Silvia - Brightside BB hostess.
There is a bus (#571) at her doorstep that will take you to the Colosseum, and bus (#64) that will take you to the train station Termini. So it's very convenient travel wise. Even walking from her place to Colosseum/Roman Forums was a mere 30 minutes at a leisurely pace.
Breakfast is very "Italian", what North americans would call a "continental breakfast." That said, coffee was really good, and her homemade cakes were yummy.
We'd go back in a heartbeat!Response from Silvia Di Emidio - 12/03/2012

An immaculate apartment in a great position. What a wonderful apartment literally minutes from the Vatican city. This is a cute, clean and comfortable apartment, easy to get to, within walking distance of the Vatican and the old city of Rome, within minutes of restaurants, shopping and anything you could possibly want. Silvia was a lovely host, we had nothing we had to even think about except enjoying our stay. The apartment is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and was perfect for our family. Silvia is the best hostess! She is very organized, helpful, and friendly during our stay here. She welcomed us and showed us around the flat when we arrived. She also gave us a few recommendations for local food and drink. Her lovely flat is located literally 10 minutes walking distance from the Vatican. Bus lines outside conveniently take you to the city center (Coliseum) Her flat is beautifully decorated and very neat and tidy. Amenities that really made our stay enjoyable: air conditioned rooms, TV in rooms, use of the kitchen, and a bidet in the washroom. Roman breakfast every morning was splendid as well; she has a great selection of teas and coffee available for use. Silvia checked in with us every day to see if we needed anything. She even helped us book reservations for a local family restaurant that served really amazing pasta (20e for two, highly recommended). If you want a pleasant stay in Roma, Brightside is the right side!

The room, as well as the entire apartment, is very comfortable with a delicate design, fresh feel and very friendly host! It is also perfect for people traveling together in a group: two rooms, each with its private bathroom, and a nice and well equipped kitchenette.
It is just in walking distance to several great areas of Rome, forgetting car and public transport.
Silvia, the owner, was polite and always available helping us to have the best stay in Rome, advising what to eat and where to eat avoiding the very turistic places!
Srongly recommended!

What more is there to say? We booked Brightside for a last minute vacation and knew from the moment we heard from Silvia that we'd made the right choice. She provided us with essetial advice pre-arrival, and a warm welcome was waiting for us when we finally arrived. The bed was wonderful, the neighborhood quiet and yet a quick walk from all the sites. We could walk from Trastavere and delicious dinners to the apartment in fifteen minutes! I also want to mention that Silvia helped us secure a rental car when we sadly had to leave Rome. We hope to return and Brightside will be our first choice!
