Rome, Rome & Lazio, Italy
What's Nearby:
Additional Location Information
Sanniti apartment is located in the heart of the old and characteristic San Lorenzo. Just a few minutes from Termini station, the San Lorenzo neighborhood is the location of La Sapienza University’s largest campus. The neighborhood’s character is largely lived by a sizable student population, which means that there are plenty of bars and music venues with a more alternative feel, numerous cheap restaurants and a number of used book and clothing stores. Historically a working class area, San Lorenzo has consequently long been off the traditional tourist route. While it may still look a little more run-down than Trastevere, San Lorenzo has become a popular place to go out. Wandering the streets, you’ll discover an intriguing and colorful (everything is covered in graffiti!) part of Rome that will teach you a lot more about the city’s culture – past and present – than many of the conventional tourist sites. The district, which is very lively and has a strong cultural identity, is full of interesting shops and eateries like handicraft shops, bookshop-cafes, pubs, wine bars, restaurants, trattorias and pizzerias. It is a quiet and safe neighborhood, in the evening becoming a crowded meeting place.

Birmingham, United KingdomGreat apartment in Vibrant Part of Rome
Left on 06/15/2013 for a stay in June 2013
We stayed at this lovely apartment for a week - as others have said, it is exactly as shown and very well equipped; close to excellent transport systems (tram number 3 got us everywhere we wanted to go - and the stops are minutes away from the apartment); the restaurants, bars and cafes in San Lorenzo are great value and excellent quality and we felt welcome and safe in this vibrant part of Rome.

Loved the apartment, it was just what we needed as a base to explore Rome. Nice to have good eats right downstairs, a coffee shop and a restaurant. Also easy access to pub transit and fun to walk around at night amongst the young folk. Perfect for us, 4 folks, 55-70, visiting Rome for a few days.

We loved our stay at Sanniti apartment. Everything through the apartment was beautiful. From the pictures, I hadn't realised how big it was. The ceilings were very high, making each room very grand, and the artwork and furniture were lovely too. We cooked two or more meals a day, so we appreciated such a well-equipped kitchen. One of the most important priorities for us was finding a quiet apartment, but we didn't want one that only opened onto an inner courtyard either. Sanniti apartment was perfect in this regard. The bedroom overlooking the courtyard was absolutely silent. The other bedrooms overlooking the square, where there was always something to watch, but it was a quiet square at night, and the shutters were very effective.
We were so happy we chose the area and didn't stay in the centre of Rome. In the local area, we saw one pair of tourists, once. The local shopkeepers and restauranteurs were friendly, were patient as we struggled with our Italian, and seemed to appreciate our custom. We completely avoided eating out in the centre of Rome because it was so much more expensive, and most shopkeepers there seemed somewhat jaded by tourists. There's even a second-hand book-shop just around the corner, where we were able to swap books we'd picked up at our last stop, for some new ones.
All our communications with Gabrielle were prompt, friendly and professional. He had great suggestions for what to do. Our favourite site-seeing days were when we headed out of town. Especially Ostia antica, Villa adriana and Villa d'Este.
The beds were superb.
All in all, I couldn't fault the apartment. We had a fantastic time. Thanks Gabriele! I'm happy to answer questions. -

Melbourne, AustraliaWhat a great apartment in Rome!
Left on 11/09/2012 for a stay in October 2012
My family and I (6 adults) rented Gabrielle's family apartment for 5 days and we absolutely loved it. The owner Gabrielle was very sincere and helpful in showing his apartment and how to get around in Rome. It was not only a beautiful place but everything is within a short a walk, for example bus stops, supermarket, restaurants, gelato were only 2 minutes away. We were spoilt! In terms of seeing the major sites, the Tiburtina buses are the best option for getting around. I will definitely be staying at Gabrielle's place again when I next visit the Eternal City...Thanks Gabrielle for making our stay memorable.

Left on 10/26/2012 for a stay in October 2012
The apartment was very comfortable and clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of space. The host was helpful regarding getting around Rome and check-in was easy. We found the location to be very convenient, but renters need to be able to walk to nearby bus stops (two blocks)and be comfortable using public transportation, which we found to be really easy. The area is safe and we felt at ease walking around, day or night. There are a couple of restaurants and bakeries nearby, and one notable restaurant with great food, staff and ambiance right across the street. There's a small market in the square for fresh food, veggies, etc. Plan your visit ahead of time by making on-line reservations for major attractions like the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Colosseum with dungeon area, and so on. This way, you can select the exact time for your sightseeing and avoid standing in lines. This was our third trip to Rome and turned out to be the easiest, due in part by our good experience at this apartment.

Left on 09/27/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My family and I stayed in the Sanniti apartment in September for 6 nights and had a great time. The apartment was exactly as described and the pictures are spot on. Each room is very spacious and has very modern furniture.
The apartment is situated in a very safe area and has loads of good restaurants and bars nearby. The cafe below the apartment is excellent, breakfast is recommended.
The apartment is roughly a 20 min walk to the termini station, however there are local buses 1 block from the apartment, which provide an excellent service to most of the main sights.
Gabriele was very helpful on arrival, he provided lots of useful info on the surrounding area.
I would definitely recommend this apartment and will be staying here the next time I visit Roma. -

Left on 09/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We were recommended this apartment by The Beehive hotel as a family let which worked out to be much cheaper. The apartment was about 10-15 walk from Termini station, in an beautiful old shuttered building in a little square. We were on the 5th floor. The apartment is very chic and trendy, decorated and fitted out in a modern yet practical way. All rooms has air conditioning, there was a well equiped kitchen with access to an array of basic foods in the pantry. Within close walking distance are small organic food shops, supermarkets, and there are plenty of pavement restaurants and cafes. We didn't have a bd meal all week, and in all honest could not have picked a better area and apartment if we'd spent months looking. Highly recommended and we will be returning.

Honolulu, HIPerfect Rental in San Lorenzo Neighborhood
Left on 09/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
If you are OK staying in San Lorenzo, which is a bit of an edgier, less green area of Rome - this is a fantastic apartment. It is impeccably maintained and has quite a plush feel. My only complaint would be that it was a bit hard to find the time-tables for the buses and trolleys and as we were traveling with my father the extra ten minute walk past the train station on hot days was hard on him.
A fantastic benefit to staying in San Lorenzo is that I swear they have the best restaurants in Rome. You would be hard pressed not to find an amazing meal right next door. Because it is slightly out of the main tourist area, we especially enjoyed not having to go far for great food. We have stayed in prettier neighborhoods, but we have never eaten better in four trips to Rome.
Another perk of staying here in the summer time is the fantastic neighborhood festival that goes for much of the summer - local bands, street food, and shopping stalls all set up in a small park and running late into the night within a 5 minute walk of the apartment. It was a lot of fun and definitely not a tourist-y experience.
We would recommend this apartment to anyone who is happy to have a walking intensive experience of Rome. One other positive note would be that we called a taxi from the apartment and they immediately knew the address which was great as my limited Italian would not have been able to provide directions. -

Left on 07/22/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We rented the Sannitti apartment for our week stay in Rome in late June 2012. We were very happy with it on almost all accounts...safety, size, cleanliness, street view from the 5th floor balcony, close to bus routes--a 15 minute walk to Termini, a central hub for buses, trains and car rentals and a pretty easy connection to the airport. The one drawback, though not a big one, was a lack of a living room where everyone could congregate at the end of an exciting day--the dining room became this place for us. We loved the neighborhood--a Cappuccino to be had almost any place; full of a lot of very friendly people; fresh produce markets right outside the apartment in the piazza; grocery stores just around the corner; fun shops; and just down the street from the ancient Roman wall. Gabriel, the owner, was quite friendly and very helpful. He had copies waiting for us of bus routes and sites to see and there were plenty of books in the apartment of Rome. Because the apartment is in a real Italian neighborhood, you get the experience of living in Rome rather than just visiting.
There was a potential problem with the hot water that Gabriel communicated with us when we first arrived. When it became an issue on the second day he took care of it right away, even sitting with the technician when he came to do the work. He was always behind the scenes taking care that all went well for us. Thank you, Gabriel!!!
We would definitely return.

Do I need to repeat the all the excellent reviews this place has already received?
The apartment is simply wonderful. The owner helpful and considerate, The location is fantastic. Just 15 minutes walk from Termini railway station, but not in the tourist area. Great food for reasonable prices. Bus and tram stops are just a moments walk. The Wifi and air conditioning was a big plus too. The atmosphere of the neighborhood was charming. It was a very safe place to stroll around - day or night. -

We (3 couples) stayed at Sanniti apartment in San Lorenzo and absolutely loved it. Gabriele was absolutely wonderful and very thorough! We were kind of taken aback that there was no living room, but found that we never missed it! Grocery store was just around the corner and produce stand across the street so ate breakfast in before sightseeing and then spent long days sightseeing so all we wanted when we returned late in the evening was a shower and bed!

We spent a long weekend in this apartment with our two teenage children and really enjoyed it. The apartment is decorated beautifully and has everything that could possibly be needed for a holiday. The only way that it could possibly be improved would be by the provision of a tin opener!
Gabriele, the owner was very friendly and helpful - and also speaks excellent English. He met us at our apartment and even arranged for us to get a vegetarian meal in a local restaurant late on the first evening.
The location is slightly out of the centre of Rome, but that is a good thing, as it is calmer and less noisy. There are plenty of shops and restaurants etc in the local area and the local people are friendly.
I would highly recommend this rental.Response from Sanniti - 03/08/2012

The biggest plus for us with this apartment was the three large bedrooms (one with an en suite) which gave us all the privacy we neede (a couple with two teenage sons). Not the most convenient of locations for all the main sites of Rome, but close to public transport links, bars and restaurants in the San Lorenzo district which were reasonably priced. Clean, individual apartment, brilliantly equipped and fantastic value for money. Gabriele welcomed us and showed us everything we needed. First class.

Sanniti apartment was great! Everything was just as claimed when I was looking for an apartment for my family to stay in. We had five people and plenty of room to move around. The two bathrooms was an added bonus, and very helpful. The apartment was very clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked with the odds and ends you would need to help complete any meal when cooking. The Wi-Fi was very, very good. We had a terrific visit to Rome, and staying in Sanniti apartment made it even better.

Modern furnishings and kitchen, without living room or common room except for kitchen, small dining area. Helpful friendly host, very near bars, restaurants, supermarkets but 30-40 min via public transport to historic center of town. Ideal for 3 couples who plan to spend most of time out and about city, using apartment for light meals and sleep. Clothes washer very helpful as was Ikea equipped kitchen. Decor funky, attractive, colorful. Would definitely stay again, price was right for our group of 6 adults, 45-65.

Bus transportation to the tourist areas was very convenient to the apartment. We ate twice at a wonderful local restaurant accross the street called "Osteria". Gabriele was great to deal with. I would recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Rome who is looking for a safe, comfortable apartment away from the tourist areas. We will stay there again on our next visit to Rome.

I travelled with 3 other ladies and found the accomodations very comfortable. We all had our own beds. Kitchen was well supplied and stocked. The location is awesome! Grocery, cafe, bank, pharmacy, tobacchi shop, restaurants - everything is within a few blocks walking. Bus stops close by although we ended up taking taxis most of the time - they are reasonably priced and the cafe downstairs was kind enough to call one for us as needed. The elevator was of great assistance in getting up to the top floor. Traffic noise in the evening, but I found it exciting and not bothersome. Tiny balcony to watch the comings and goings of the plaza. Far enough from Termini train station to feel safe, but close enough to walk or taxi to if needed. Place was very clean, many brochures for tourist info in Rome and Italy. Gabriele was very helpful.

driving to the Lorenzo area was a bit off-putting with all its graffitti but we were in the student area and in fact it turned out to be great, quite buzzy and very italian. Enjoyed people watching down into the square from the little balcony. Was a bit of a trek to the metro, but taxis not expensive so would consider this option in future, couple of super little eateries a few steps away. Overall would deifinately book this apartment again for my third trip to the eternal city.

Five of us stayed at this apartment, and were very pleased with it. The bedrooms were spacious, clean and airconned. The kitchen and dining area had everything we needed, with all cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils etc.. included.
The apartment is situated a little out of the centre, and you need to travel with the Bus to get to the tourist areas. Although there are three bus lines within a short 2minute walk that are great for getting about.
The 71 bus is the quickest to the centre itself and drops you off just round the corner from the Trevi Fountain, the 3 Bus takes you directly to the Colosseum, and the 492 takes you (eventually) near to the Vatican city.
Around the apartment is the University area, and there are lots of nice places to eat around in the local area itself and at very reasonable prices. If you want to cook at the apartment itself there is a supermarket (Carrefour) just around the corner for all that you need.
All in all was very happy the the apartment, location and friendliness of the owner. Would definitely stay here again. -

Upon our arrival the owner, Gabriele was extremely helpful with information about the area and the apartment. The apartment itself was lovely. Very comfortably furnished with everything we needed, although there was no living/lounge room. Unfortnately the area the apartment is situated in is not very nice. There was nothing much around the apartment in terms of nice restaurants or such places to visit, and it wasn't the sort of place where you'd feel safe going for a walk after dark (lots of graffiti/rubbish around). Having said that, during the day, it's a short walk to the bus (if you can possibly work out which bus leaves from where...) and approx. 20 minute walk to Termini Station.

Hi Julie
I'm sorry you don't like San Lorenzo, it's an area where Romans like to go and live at night, not a touristic one for sure. There are many restaurants and bars, it's a pity you didn't find anything interesting for you.
I feel pretty safe there and I like a lot the graffiti we have here: they don't mean ghettos or unsecure areas. Especially in San Lorenzo, which is considered mainly a student and artist area, in certain periods, the walls are gifted by the city administration to street artists that can freely express their art. I like it better than the grey walls :)

The apartment owner had left provisions for us which were an unexpecetd bonus (tea coffee wine and liquors which previous residents had left behind) Transport into Rome was cheap and frequent (1 euro each) and taxi to the apartment from the city centre about 13 euros. We had a fantastic stay. Please be aware there is no lounge area in the apartment but this didn't matter to us as there is too much to do to have time to sit down!

Left on 05/25/2010 for a stay in April 2010
The graffiti is Rome is ubiquitous so we were a little apprehensive when we
drove up to the apartment building. It's important to be aware that the graffiti
does not identify the neighborhood as "bad". We were pleasantly surprised by
the large and fully appointed apartment. The piazza bustles both day and
night but the noise is not a problem due to shutters on the windows. There's a
lovely veggie/fruit stand just outside, a lovely restaurant next door, and a dear
little pizza joint just 15 steps away. Travel is easy on buses and the train
station is nearby too. We were very happy with our stay at Sanniti apartment.
One note is that there is no living area, per se, for visiting, reading, etc. It's a
large 3 bedroom apt with galley kitchen and small eating area. It fit our needs
beautifully but the lack of a "living" area could be a problem for some. -

Seattle, WASeattle family loved Sanniti apartment
Left on 04/23/2010 for a stay in March 2010
The Sanniti apartment is in a residential area of Rome within about a 15 minute walk to the major Termini train station, which made it extremely handy.
The apartment was in a traditional Rome apartment building and was on the top floor of the building. There were stairs, but also a small elevator if we didn't feel like walking up the steps.
With spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen it was truly a home away from home. We appreciated how clean it was and how the washer women mopped the stairs and courtyard on a daily basis. So although like many neighborhoods in Rome this one had lots of graffiti and some litter along the streets it was pristine once we made our way inside the 12 foot tall doors to the apartment building.
We enjoyed being in a neighborhood rather than in a more touristy part of town. There were at least 4 grocery stores within 3 blocks, a coffee shop at ground level of the building, a fruit stand and an internet access shop right across the street and a pizza place, with the best pizza we had in Italy (Maretoneta)just two blocks away. Needless to say, it was a vibrant neighborhood that was surprisingly quiet at night despite the fact that there were bars and restaurants practically right outside our door.
We received great service at the Sanniti apartments and had someone waiting there to greet us once we arrived. We were given recommendations and directions and many guide brocures/books were available for use.
We can only come up with one thing that we liked the least and that is that there was occasionally an odd smell coming from the master bathroom... perhaps from the bidet, which we never used. When we put the stopper on that drain and purchased an air freshener it made it a non-issue.
I would highly recommend the Sanniti appartment!!!

We stayed at Sanniti apartment with my parents-in-law from April 5 - April
11, 2010. After walking up approximately 10 gently-sloped stairs, one
reaches the elevator that takes one up to the apartment. Accessibility was
an important factor for us because my 89-year-old father-in-law traveled
with us. He had no trouble getting to our tastefully decorated apartment on
the 5th floor. Gabriele's introduction to Rome and local public
transportation were most useful, as was the basket full of literature
concerning our temporary home. We ate in several times during our stay
and found all the cooking utensils we could possibly need. The bedrooms
were clean and roomy and our firm mattress helped me to sleep like a baby
after each day's Roman adventure. The only "negative" I could possibly
think of is the request to throw soiled toilet paper in a lidded waste can,
rather than in the toilet. The "problem" was purely in our heads. Once we
got used to the idea, it became a non-issue and we thoroughly enjoyed the
apartment. After long, exciting days in downtown Rome, it was always nice
to return to the peace and serenity of our "home away from home." We
definitely recommend the Sanniti apartment without the slightest of
reservations. -

IrelandBeautiful and comfortable apartment
Left on 04/08/2010 for a stay in March 2010
The apartment is located in a bustling Piazza in what i call "real Rome". (Great for people watching during the day from the window) right across from a fruit and veg shop and there were plenty of restaurant's bars and cafe's around.
The apartment itself is perfect we were a group of 6 people and we had plenty of space, the bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the kitchen had all utensils/equipment needed to make any meal.
I would definatly recommend this apartment we had a great stay and the owner Gabriele was very helpful. -

A great apartment which is conveniently located in the student area of San Lorenzo. All the mod cons you could ask for.
Plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and cheap supermarkets within walking distance. Bus stops within 1 minute walk which makes travelling to the historic sites a lot easier.
Gabrielle recommended buying a Roma Pass at the airport which allows unlimited travel on public transport for 3 days, free entry to two historic sites and discounted entry at others. Definitely would recommend as takes away the stress of having to find a ticket vendor.
Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Rome and will certainly be coming back. -

Morristown, New JerseyA Great Vacation!
Left on 11/12/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed at the Sanniti apartment for one week ending October 31, 2009. It was an excellent choice for our vacation. The owner, Gabriele, was very nice to deal with and his apartment is very clean and well kept. It is well stocked with dishes, cooking items, etc. so we found it simple to have some meals "at home", rather than eating out all the time. The apartment is located in a true Italian neighborhood with many good eating places and stores. It is not in the downtown area but it is very easy to take a bus or the metro and you are minutes from any sightseeing or downtown business you might be attending. The Termini Station is about a 15 minute walk and we made the trip many times on foot but if you don't care to walk, bus service to Termini is very close by.
I've only used Trip Advisor twice but I must tell you that I would definitely recommend the Sanniti apartment. Molto buono! -

The apartment was better than expected. Nice modern layout with all the tools to make your stay very pleasant.
The location has easy access, with in minutes form the apartment, to public transportation. The Termini train station is only a 10 -15 walk.
Gabriel was very helpful explaining how to get around Roma.
Thanks for a great place to call my Roma home

We stayed in the apartment with our 18 month old son and our elderly grandparents and it was very easy using the lift - the apartment is very well furnished a touch of class!
what we enjoyed most about our stay was the choice of great restaurants - authentic and reasonably priced and PROPER italian food, amazing meat and great staff. A good place to stay to experience the real Rome, highly recommended.
The owner is very professional and friendly too!! -

During October we had a splendid stay at the apartment. The photo's on the website reflect the reality and it is very convenient place to stay while in Rome with easy access to the city. The owners provide great hospitality and you can see their personal dedication to the reconstruction work they have done and the outcome. Furthermore it is situated in a nice neighbourhood, which feels very cosy with the students living in that area

Left on 10/19/2009 for a stay in October 2009
We were a party of four (me, partner and both mothers) and we all enjoyed our stay at the Sanniti apartment. Everything was lovely and tidy: the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable, the bathrooms bright and clean, and the kitchen was very well equipped. It's on the fifth floor, but there's a lift if you don't fancy tackling the marble stairs.
The apartment-owner, Gabriele, was very helpful - he recommended places to eat in the local neighbourhood and explained the easiest way to get to the main sites of Rome. There were clear maps showing local (and very regular) public transport routes from the apartment to the city centre, the Colosseum and the Vatican City, among other places: bus and tram stops were all nearby.
Definitely recommended! -

Left on 08/31/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Everything we needed was there. Would be even better to have computer with internet. We got good instructions on local bus routes and neighborhood shops. Air conditioning was essential due to the exceptional heat in August. Bedrooms were big and comfortable. Neighborhood is mostly local establishments with supermarket, restaurants, gelateria and a very nice caffe with very few tourists. We felt quite safe walking around there at night. Termini is about 20 min walk - good in the morning but not so good under the afternoon sun. Taxi from Termini is less than 10 euro though.

The flat is beautiful, well kept, very clean and very well equipped, there is even basics in the flat like oil, vinegar. Location is quite good, public transportation is efficient and simple to find. The owners of the flat were very nice and helpful.
The family and I definetely recommend staying in this flat. -

Charlottesville, VirginiaWonderful rest from walking Rome!
Left on 08/11/2009 for a stay in August 2009
We were hot and tired, after traveling all night on the sleeper train from Paris. The taxis dropped us off (we could have walked!) and we were greeted with a smile and fresh espresso. (We had meant to ask for a cafe and were misunderstood.) The three bedrooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated. The kitchen and dining area were well-appointed. Two lovely bathrooms and air-conditioning in each room completed the apartment. The kitchen was well equipped for a cook, and even had a small washing machine (lines out the window). The Sanniti's were so pleasant, even coming on Sunday to help us understand how to program the ac. The apartment about a 20 minute walk from the Roma Termini, and is a short tram/bus ride from the the center of old Rome. The university area has plenty of bar/cafes, shops, and restaurants. The owner left a good supply of maps and customized bus, metro, and tram routes. I really have nothing negative to share at all! Good location, convenient to stores and sightseeing, friendly people. I'd definitely return!

We loved this apartment and we loved the area! The apartment was very nice, spacious and comfortable. It felt very relaxing and calm, and is decorated with a nice attention to detail (if you're into that kind of thing, which I suppose I am). The balcony looks out over the square so you can see everything going on outside.
There's a cafe right downstairs, a fruit market across the street, and so many good restaurants in the area. There are also some great little stores like the small vintage clothing store around the corner, and an artist that sells her ceramics and jewelry around another corner.
The bus is just a few minutes from the apartment and it takes you downtown and everywhere, or to the metro. It was very easy to get around and it was nice to stay somewhere away from the touristy, crazy parts. A relief!
We loved that the neighbourhood was so laid back and that you could just stay out eating and drinking all night. And all the people were really nice.
Would definitely stay here again, maybe forever? -

We stayed in San Lorenzo from july 12-16 2009, we were 4 adults and a child. The apartment was even bigger and nicer than the photos!!! The location is perfect for anyone looking to stay in a non touristy area with authentic restaurants priced very well. We only ate outside of this area once and definitely regretted doing so as the restaurants in centreal rome are horrible and overpriced in comparison to the ones in San Lorenzo!!!
Also, there is a nice park within walking distance which was perfect for our 4 year old.
It was no problem getting to the major attractions by bus/and or metro and made for a great experience using the local transportation.
Highly recommended-cant wait to go back and stay here again!!!Response from Sanniti - 07/29/2009

Many thanks for the nice review.
You are right about eating in Rome in the city center: it's unfortunately easy to get ripped off. Luckily San Lorenzo is a decent area on this aspect. Maybe I will prepare a restaurant guide for the area also.

WALKING DISTANCE TO THE BUS AND ONCE YOU DO IT A COUPLE OF TIMES, THE BUS SYSTEM IS NOT SO HARD TO NAVIGATE. THE BUSSES GO EVERYWHERE! WALKING DISTANCE TO A GROCERY STORE AND A YUMMY BAKERY RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! THE RESTAURANT/BAR DOWNSTAIRS WAS OK. CATERS TO LOCALS IT SEEMS. WE FELT SAFE WALKING AROUND THE AREA. Left on 06/05/2009 for a stay in June 2008
I spent almost three weeks in this great apartment in San Lorenzo with a co-worker. A friend recommended this place, and he also had a great stay here. The operators have made this place feel like home. When we arrived (even though we were delayed), they were waiting for us. We found the apartment well-stocked and quite comfortable.
I probably wouldn't have visited San Lorenzo had I been staying elsewhere in Rome, but it's a nice little neighborhood. It's certainly not the most picturesque neighborhood, but it has a life all its own. The closest metro stop is a bit of a walk, but the buses run frequently near by.
I will definitely try to stay here again the next time I'm in Rome.Response from Sanniti - 06/15/2009

I found this place through cross-pollinate. I traveled to Rome with my
husband and a friend so we could participate in the Rome Marathon.
We chose this place because it was relatively close to a Metro stop (20
minute walk), had a kitchen and great room photos. We weren't
disappointed. The 3 bedrooms were tastefully decorated. It was nice
to have a kitchen, especially given the activity that brought us to
Rome. There is a grocer around the corner. The neighborhood in
which it is located is not touristy at all, so we were able to have a
more authentic visit. I would recommend staying here.
There is also a great chocolate shop around the corner (ask for
directions) called S.A.I.D. Lovely.
The only downside of this stay is that walk to Metro (at Termini) is nice
for half the distance, then blah the other half.Response from Sanniti - 06/15/2009

Thanks for the feedback Stacy.
We always suggest to take the bus in order to get to Termini Station quickly and avoiding some heavily congested streets.

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. The rooms were huge, the kitchen well stocked, and the bathrooms were stunning. The apartment is in a beautiful old building, with a lift to the front door. There is a magnificent bakery/cafe down stairs and an array of small shops with everything you could possibly want just down the road. The apartment is in close proximity by taxi to all of the key sights in Rome. We have travelled all around the world and I would thoroughly recommend anyone wanting a true Rome experience to stay at the Sanniti apartment.

I thought the room was great! The only problem was it wasn't in the
center of Rome so you have a LOT of walking to do in order to
complete tourist sightings. Which was fine with me, because I love
walking and sight-seeing. The rooms were great and they all came
with necessary equipment. I really loved this room and would stay in it
again if I wanted too!Response from Sanniti - 06/06/2009

A group of us rented this apartment for a conference we were attending at La Sapienza. It was fantastic, beautifully decorated, well appointed and prepared with every imagineable comfort! We ended up rarely going out for dinner-but rather all our other friends came to us-dinner was usually 15 people crowded in the dining room-so great was the appeal of this apartment. We had a wonderful time and loved being so close to the university during the conference.

We loved staying in the San Lorenzo apartment. We stayed with 6 people and it fit us all very comfortably. The whole apartment was beautifully furnished and very clean. We loved that it had multiple showers, bathrooms, and a kitchen. Although we only stayed for four nights, it would have been a great place to stay for multiple weeks. The Sanniti apartment was a gorgeous start to our two week girls trip in IT. We had three bedrooms, all very large; two gorgeous bathrooms, all were clean, the kitchen was spacious and had all the amenities. There are balconies at the all sides- some overlook the piazza below. We were close to Termini, and to mail roads. We had a blast, and the quarters were large and private enough for four girls to feel like we were in a lovely suite. Excellent value! :)
