New YorkA tranquil oasis in the heart of Rome!!
Left on 03/19/2013 for a stay in March 2013
My daughter and I stayed in alessandra's charming apartment and can't say enough about it!! We came to visit our daughter who is studying in Rome for the semester. We loved coming "home" after a busy day of sight-seeing...the apartment is truly a tranquil oasis in the heart of Rome!! The location is fantastic, the apartment is well-appointed and very clean. The shower was fantastic too. The living room has a comfortable pull-out sofa, so it was great that my other daughter could spend the night too!
But the apartment is nothing compared to alessandra's hospitality! She is a gracious host and a warm-hearted person. She has thought of everything a guest could need for a stay, including a hairdryer and converters. The gift basket was a welcome treat too! The apartment is far better than any 5 star hotel and I will gladly recommend it to friends in the future. I feel I've found a home in Rome! :)
Thank you alessandra!! -

Left on 02/24/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We stayed at the apartment on 16th - 23th February. It was our first experience of renting an apartment instead of living in a hotel. We can only confirm all the good reviews! The apartment is really great, so comfy and clean, with just everything you may need! Alessandra, the hostess, is so nice and helpful! We in Russia have strict requirements regarding visa documents. Alessandra provided us with all necessary documents, and we had no problems with getting our visas. Plus - of course, I will repeat the others' words, but I just must mention the location of the apartment - it's great, close to Vatican, district Prati with many shops and restaurants... And to Colosseum and other attraction we could walk, if we wanted to. By the way, the metro station Ottaviano is nearby, so we had a choice:) Alessandra, thank you!!

Atlanta, GA, USAAn amazing Stay at Il Mirto
Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in October 2012
Alessandra is easy to work with, friendly, knowledgeable and an incredible hostess. Communications prior to our arrival were hassle-free; a driver met us at the airport. She got up early to welcome us to Rome, showed us around apt., gave us tips for the neighborhood and Rome, made sure our iPhones/iPads were connect to WiFi, helped us with apt's cell phone. Her welcome basket was lovely touch. The apartment is everything you could ask for. Both the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable, the closet space were spacious and the living quarters roomy. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare several nice meals. Apt is noise-free, WiFi worked well with two devices, and the air conditioning was a true gift. Il Mirto is well situated close to Vatican, taxi stand and metro stop. Great shopping for food and other essentials is close by. Il Mirto is an economical place to stay. We splurged on plenty of meals out, but to be able to enjoy a breakfast, lunch, or dinner occasionally in the apartment with local foods saved a lot of money. And the space and comfort that we enjoyed as opposed to sharing a small European hotel room (that would have cost more!)could not be beat.

North Andover, MassachusettsA wonderful apartment that has everything you need!
Left on 01/17/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Alessandra was so thoughtful and nice. This was our first time to Rome and we were traveling with two boys (4 and 6) from Christmas to new year. She arranged a driver to pick us up at the airport at 7am Christmas day morning, who speaks perfect English and is very polite and informative. When we got to the apartment, she's right there waiting for us (again, at Christmas morning!).
The apartment is at the second floor, very charming and so much bigger than the pictures i saw online. It has a living room, which has a pull-out sofa bed, a dinning table, a bookshelf full of maps and travel books in both English and Italian, and a TV. The kitchen is well furnished and has everything you could think of, dishwasher, washer, dryer, stove, fridge, even detergent, seasonings, and all the utensils. -she thought of everything! Did I mention that alessandra even gave us a welcome basket that's filled with pasta, jams, bread for breakfast, cookies... Since it was Christmas day, she even stuffed the fridge with 2 packs of chicken, some fresh greens, some eggs, and milk! I could not think of any 5 star hotel had better and more personal service than alessandra.
The location was perfect - 2 blocks from the subway/ taxi stand, 1.5 blocks from a market that sells fresh produce from meat to veggies to cheese and bread, 1 block from a very busy shopping street, and 5 minutes to Vatican! It also has nice restaurants on the same street. It's like an oasis from all the actions, so quiet at night that we slept till 1pm for the first two days (jet-lag :)).
I will recommend this apartment to anyone who travels to Rome. Thanks alessandra for the perfect stay! -

We were fortunate to be able to spend our second visit in alessandra's wonderful apartment this past October-we now plan our trips around the availability of this apartment, it's that good. It's impossible to be too positive about this apartment-great location, lots of good shopping nearby, easy access to pulic transportation, beautiful interior and furnishings, gracious and thoughtful host, comfy bed, and much, much more. This is our permanent "home away from home" in Rome, and we don't bother to look for other apartments or hotels because we have already found the perfect place.

My niece and I stayed at the Il Mirto Vaticano apartment from October 7-11 (4 nights) and it was perfect. Alessandra was so nice to work with from booking the apartment to meeting us there when we arrived. She spent time showing us the apartment and going over all the ins and outs and her recommendations on places to eat locally and the best coffee in the neighborhood. Its located in walking distance to the Vatican, great shopping, local markets, bakeries etc. We found a great restaurant called Borgo antico on Borgo Pio...great restaurant and the most wonderful hosts. we had dinner their three times! I hope to return to Italy soon and would definitely return to this apartment. I highly recommend it. Alessandra thank you again for your wonderful hospitality and it was such a pleasure meeting you. my best regards Maria

This is our second stay in this lovely apartment and we hope to return again. It was like returning home and it was lovely to meet alessandra again .This apartment has everything you need for a stay in Rome. It is in a great position- walking distance to Vatican, close to Metro , buses.,taxis. It is surrounded by a great range of restaurants.Supermarket and fresh food market nearby and the worlds best gelato is at the end of the strret. ! Even though it is in such a central position it is very quiet and very secure.
As with our previous visit alessandra was the perfect host nothing is a problem and she ensures that you have everything you need for a great stay. She even leaves you with a mobile phone to use while you are there and contact her if you have any problems.! -

Left on 09/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Perfect for the two of us. Very nicely appointed with attention to detail in furnishings and decoration. Comfortable and immaculate. In the Prati district (just about 3-4 blocks from the Vatican Museum entrance) il Mirto is in an upper middle class Italian neighborhood (not "touristico') but close to Metro, the Cola de Rienzo (shopping street) restaurants and all the services you will need. Everything is included, from fully-furnished kitchen, to a cell phone and laptop, even an iPod player (bring your tunes). Wi-Fi works well. Queen bed is moderately firm and very comfortable, important to oldsters with occasional back issues. 1st floor (one flight up) with lift. Windows face interior courtyard, so no street noise. Alessandra was very easy to work with during booking and helped us with suggestions, before and after arrival. She is as charming as the apartment, and was kind to provide us with a starter "goody basket" with pasta, crackers, pestos a bottle of wine, etc. The price was very good and the pictures of the apartment are accurate. You won't be disappointed! Mille Grazie, Alessandra, for a wonderful stay!! -- ( P.S. -- Try Mo's for gelato!!)

When considering your next home away from home the key attributes to look for are: location, furnishing and price. Look no further. ll Mirto delivers on all three wonderfully. Located only a few blocks away from Saint Peter's Square and metro station, the unit has been remodeled to offer all comforts of today's world at an affordable price. Alessandra's customer management skills are outstanding. I only hope my next rental turns out to be as perfect at this one.
I highly recommend it!

Maryland, USAquiet retreat after busy day of sightseeing
Left on 07/08/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My husband and I spent a week at alessandra's beautifully appointed apartment in a quiet residential neighborhood near the Vatican but outside the tourist zone. It provided a quiet retreat after a day of sightseeing being located on the first floor facing an inner courtyard. We were made to feel very welcome there by alessandra with a cordial orientation upon arrival, a basket of treats that we used all week and a visit to a coffee bar on our departure. The apartment is very comfortable with lots of storage and everything you would need. The kitchen is special and since there are grocery stores and street markets nearby where we could get fresh locally sourced ingredients we cooked many of our meals there. When we wanted to eat out we also found several excellent restaurants only steps away. Access to other parts of town were easy on foot, particularly the Vatican, Juniculum Hill and Trastevere in one direction and the Piazza del Popolo in the other, or by subway for more distant sites. We would definitely recommend this apartment, and would stay there again ourselves.

Dayton, OhioAbsolutely fantastic apartment
Left on 07/01/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We stayed in this apartment for 10 days in May and found it to be the perfect choice for a couple. Alessandra, the owner, was so helpful and very prompt in her communications with us. It was our first time using a rental on vacation, and she probably spoiled us for any other rentals in the future! When we arrived, she was waiting for us, gave us a great overview of how to use appliances, where to shop/eat/get gelato in Prati, and provided a beauitul welcome basket of food. We really loved the wifi in the apartment, and felt safer knowing that alessandra was only a phone call away if we needed help.
The apartment itself is in a beautiful Roman building, with a peaceful courtyard. The rooms were very spacious, and everything we could need for cooking and cleaning was provided. All of the rooms were clean, modern, and cozy. The apartment was cleaned in the middle of the week, which was so nice to come home to.
Location-wise, we loved being able to walk to the Vatican, and would recommend that anyone staying here go to the Vatican Museums night tours on Friday evenings, which was a highlight on our trip - and it was great to be able to walk home when we were done! All of the other Rome sightseeing highlights were a quick and easy trip away via the subway. We loved the location - convenient to all the major sites, yet located on a quiet street with a local feel. Within walking distance, we loved the Old Bridge Gelateria near the Vatican, the gelateria on via dei Gracchi, and the restaurant Da Vito e Dina. The nearby supermarket was also a lot of fun to visit, and we enjoyed making meals in the apartment.
If you are looking for excellent value and a taste of a local Roman lifestyle, we would strongly recomment renting this apartment! We would love to go back to Rome and stay here again. -

Sydney, AustraliaThe most wonderful apartment in Europe
Left on 07/01/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed at Il Mirto/ Rhomelets last week. It was wonderful and we think we were so lucky to stay there. We have been travelling through Europe for 6 weeks with our 2 children and this is the 5 th apartment we have stayed in, and it was the cheapest and the best. It is much bigger and beautiful than the photos suggest. There is a large walk in wardrobe that was especially welcome. It has been renovated recently with quality appliances and is extremely clean. It also has lots of charm. The apartment is in a beautiful apartment block that has a charming central courtyard, windows looking over the courtyard with flowers. So it was very quiet at night (except when Italy got a goal in the euro cup!).
The neighbourhood is also perfect. 2 blocks to the metro, 2 blocks to the Vatican, 5 blocks from the best gelato in Italy ( we did the homework on this), and a very pleasant 20 minute walk to Piazza Navona etc. It also felt very safe even at night with children. Clothes shops nearby, restaurants, cafes.
But perhaps the best part of the stay was the warm welcome from the owner alessandra, who is delightful and kind. She gave us great advice about our stay and had a goodie basket ready, so we could relax and eat and unwind before exploring Rome.
Additional features include: nespresso machine and pods, great air conditioners, phone, laptop, stocked pantry, washing machine, dryer, etc.
If we have the opportunity to return to Rome, we would only stay there ( and we would stay longer). Alessandra said that she is managing another apartment which is even bigger nearby later this year. -

I have to say I was completely blown away by alessandra as well as our stay in her apartment. From the get-go she was responsive, kind, and prompt in answering all my emails/questions/concerns. I had been referred to her apartment by someone on Tripadvisor who had stayed there before and I was so hopeful it would be what we wanted- and it was. It exceeded our expectations. When we finally were able to meet alessandra (after a very easy walk from the metro stop for which she had included instructions on how to arrive) we felt like she was an old friend. She showed us the apartment- excellent location. It is in a little residential area that is quiet, well kept, and a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Roma. The apartment itself was perfect. It was immaculate and the photos posted are accurate except the place is better in person. It is just a beautiful space. The amenities are perfect for travelers. The bed comfortable, the bathroom was perfect- and she even included a basket of food to get us started cooking. There is also an elevator which is quite helpful for those who are unable to handle the stairs. We saved money staying in her location! Overall the property was perfect. Exactly as described. Alessandra is a gem. She even arranged transport for us to the airport. I would not hesitate to stay at her location again and strongly urge anyone staying in Roma to book with her.

Alessandra and her husband have thought of everything with regard to outfitting this apartment. We were enthusiastically greeted by the beautiful alessandra upon our arrival and she gave us all the information we needed to run the appliances, etc. comfortably (well, maybe we could have used a little brush-up course in running the washer/dryer :o) There was a fabulous food/wine basket for us and (this is way above and beyond the call of duty) a laptop computer and cell phone for local calls!!! There is also a land line so the cell phone was an unexpected pleasure. The apartment itself is contemporary with every modern convenience including a washer/dryer and dishwasher. The bedroom is very cozy and the convertible bed in the living room is very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need if you choose to cook at home. The location if fantastic - convenient to the metro, bus, and trolley. We never had any problems getting to and fro. It's within walking distance of many interesting historical sights and great shopping. We stayed 10 days and within that time they changed our towels and linens once which was terrific. I highly recommend Il Mirto as the perfect place to stay - the apartment is fabulous as are the owners!

Left on 03/10/2012 for a stay in February 2012
My husband and I rented this apartment for a month. It is the best small apartment in Rome that we have ever had. (Sometimes we travel with extended family and rent larger apartments.) It is the quietest we've had of any size. The large windows allow much natural light but not a sound can be heard because they all face a large and completely enclosed courtyard. Nor, during our month, did we ever hear noise from the condo's other occupants. In noisy, bustling Rome, Il Mirto is a an island of serenity.
The photos accurately represent the apartment, but when one is there it seems even more beautiful. It is also exceptionally clean and well maintained. The bed is comfortable and our guests for a weekend reported the same for the sofa bed. All the appliances seem new and functioned well. I love to cook and all the utensils and pots I needed were right there.
The neighborhood itself is our favorite in Rome for an apartment. Romans live there. There are two nearby supermarkets, but even better is the fine old covered market on the same street a short block or two away. It is full of vendors for cheeses, meats, fish, fresh pasta, gorgeous and fresh produce, flowers, etc. Even closer on the street is an enoteca--wine store; ask for their recommendations and you can't go wrong. I bought most of our meat at the nearby butcher and bread at the bakery; both the quality and the service were excellent.
Then there is alessandra herself. It is impossible to imagine a more reliable, charming, helpful, professional and kind host. -

I'd like to start talking about alessandra, she is the most kind and helpful lady in Italy, from the very first minute we arrived into the apartment she made us very comfortable, so the place felt like home. She helped us with everything we needed, making our lives much easier.
The apartment is terrific! Classic roman style, with all the modern appliances you will need at the same time, bed is very comfortable; kitchen includes everything to cook some good pasta.
I spent 10 days in Rome, and have been to most of the neighborhoods, in my opinion, the apartment is at the best, better restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, stores... cozy and live at the same time, very easy to get around Rome.
Wouldn't think twice to come back here, recommended to anybody who wants to feel how roman life is! 10 times better than hotels. Thank for everything alessandra! Arrivederci

Simplesmente o maximo!
Alessandra obrigado por tudo!

Left on 01/31/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We enjoyed our 10 night stay in this apartment. We thought the location was great as we could walk everywhere or take the metro back from Termini when doing day trips. Everything we could possibly need was in the apartment for us to use so we were a bit spoilt. Another great aspect of the apartment was how quiet it was. The outside walls were so thick we could not hear any traffic. We enjoyed the nearby local restaurants also. Uli did a great job of looking after us in alessandra's absence. We have already recommended this apartment to family and friends in australia

Wow!!! What can one say more about this apartment than what has already been said by others! This beautiful and luxurious apartment exceeded our expectations and is even more impressive than appears from the photos. When walking through the door I immediately experienced a feeling of excellence. Everything in the apartment was of the highest quality. This apartment became our home in Rome to my family and I. Everything was perfect! It is situated in a very nice area of Rome and literally within a few hundred meters of the Vatican City with some wonderful shops and restaurants nearby. The apartment has a very luxurious and modern appearance despite being in a building of more than a hundred years. My wife and I found it very romantic, in particular the brick ceilings. Then our Hostess, Uli who stood in for alessandra. What a wonderful and pleasant lady! She was waiting for us in the street in front of the apartment and from the very first moment made us feel very, very welcome and special. We were given a map of the immediate vicinity of the apartment with all the important shops, tourist spots , etcetera clearly marked. Uli took us to a wonderful deli close-by where we could buy lovely cooked Italian dishes. She also showed us the best coffee shop in Rome. Uli even booked our taxi for the day of our departure and came to say goodbye. This is something we have never experienced before in Europe. Uli thank you for making our stay so special. to alessandra we would like to say thank you for the lovely welcoming gift and for allowing us to stay in the apartment. We will always return to Il Mirto if we visit Rome!!

We have rented many properties in Rome and this one was the best. Alessandra was at the door to meet us even though we had numerous schedule changes. We have never met such a gracious and considerate owner. Her hospitality made us feel right at home in this beautiful apartment. The pictures do not do convey how spacious the apartment really is. We were a family of three adults and never felt crowded. Just as she promised, the apartment truly was quiet (unlike some of the other places we have stayed in Rome). It was a respite from the busy city. Everything we needed was in the apartment. We cooked most of our own meals and never lacked equipment or appliances. The location was perfect for all of our needs-sight seeing, eating, the metro, shopping, etc. This will be our top choice on return trips to Rome!

We look for the following criteria in choosing a holiday accommodation: location, comfort and cleanliness and value. Il Mirto exceeded our expectations and alessandra's assistance and support put it over the top.
The flat is within a 40 minute leisurely walk to all the key sites of Rome. Public transportation is very convenient should you not wish to walk. There are several good restaurants very close by and should you wish to use the modern kitchen, two grocery stores and a farmers' market just down the street. If shopping is your interest, that too is a block away.
The flat is very clean and comfortable with more than enough place for clothes. The bathroom and kitchen are newly renovated. The living-dining room provides added space to relax after a day of touring.
What makes this place different from all the others is alessandra's personal involvement and concern. In addition to the laptop provided which has a Skype connection to keep in touch with home, she lent us a cell phone. As well, she arranged for a car and driver to pick us up at the airport. On our day of departure, she helped us with our luggage, called a taxi for us and ensured that the driver understood our destination.
Alessandra goes beyond "excellent serviceâ€; her compassion and interest made us feel as if we had a daughter in Rome!

From the initial email contacts to inquire about the unit, to the departure meeting and check-out, this has been a perfect experience that leaves nothing for improvement.
Alessandra is the most amazing person who has thought of everything in the unit, and does everything humanly possible to make your visit special.
The neighborhood is wonderful. You can really feel and imagine what it would be like to live in Rome. The central sites are just a pleasant 20 minute stroll away, or if walking is not yuor thing then the bus stop or metro is only a few blocks away.
Perhaps some wish to be right in central Rome, but for my wife and I, Prati is the perfect spot. It was supurb to have a great day out and about and come back to this wonderful building and apartment.
The pictures and ammenities listed are all accurate, so I won't bother with repeating the details.
For those of you who have a car (not needed in Rome, but I was in the middle of a two week stay in Italy and I had a great deal on a rental for the entire time), there is a parking garage one block away that lets you not hassle or worry about street parking.
I will absolutely stay in this apartment again when and if I return to Rome. In fact, I would even move my dates around to fit into availability, it was that perfect!
Thank you alessandra for your warmth and making my all too short time in Rome a fabulous experience. -

Wonderful apartment in a delightful part of rome. Alessandra was an angel on our arrival (after falling prey to a swindle by a roman taxi driver). Felt welcomed and at home from the outset - the basket of goodies enhanced by alessandra's special consideration of my daughters dietary requirements (gluten free). The apartment was simply beyond our expectations, and we were very sad to leave our little roman oasis at the end of the holiday. I cannot recommend this apartment for a touring party of up to four people enough! Can't wait till I return!! P.S My daughter really recommends the gelateria down the road - molto bene!

If Rome is a jewel in the crown of European cities then this apartment has to rate as an absolute gem. It is easily the best apartment we have ever stayed in and anyone looking for someone to stay in Rome should look no further.
Alessandra has to be the warmest and most welcoming and helpful landlady we have encountered and she thinks of absolutely everything.
Although the Metro was very close, we walked everywhere. It was tiring but we discovered real treasures and delights that we would otherwise have missed. Plus you get to pass more gelati shops!
We only ate in the apartment. Restaurants in Rome were too expensive for us, tourist menus were unappealing,so we bought little treats from the nearby delis and stocked up at the local market and supermarket. Delicious cheeses, bread, pasta, pesto, salamis and wine. What more could a tummy want?
We stayed for one week and wished we could have stayed for longer. Book it, you'll not be disappointed! -

She welcomed us with a lovely basket of assorted goodies, which was much appreciated after a long trip. She made sure we knew where we were going and that we weren't in need of anything. She goes out of her way to ensure that your stay in Roma is perfect. She arranged for us to get a driver to take us back to the airport, who picked us up at the door, and she was there to make sure that we got off okay. She is a treasure and we are very happy to have met her. The apartment is only 5 minutes from the Vatican, but at the same time it is in a lovely neighbourhood which made it a very restful and quiet place to return after a long day of walking and sightseeing.

Beautiful apartment with everything you could possibly think of... From a comfortable bed, extra clean toilet, fully equipped kitchen, entertaining living room and a quiet and peaceful surrounding, there is nothing more one could ask for! Not to mention, its located about 5 mins walk from the Vatican (so that allows you to visit St Peter's square in the day time and catch a glimpse of it at night too) and near many shops..
Best of all, the landlady is so approachable and helpful.. Any enquiries of any kind, and she will be there to help you..
All in all, a definite place to stay if you are going to be in Rome! Definite... -

Boston, MAThe Perfect Place to Stay in Rome
Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My wife and I stayed at alessandra's apartment for the second year in a row, this time for two weeks. It's amazing how perfect the apartment is, located within a few blocks of the Vatican and a literal 2 minute walk to the Metro (Ottoviano) stop. More importantly, while you're staying in the apartment, you feel as though you're in Rome, as a true Roman, versus some americanized hotel or flat. The apartment is set in a beautiful location, overlooking a traditional Italian courtyard and is extremely quiet and relaxing. With wifi service at the apartment, making tour reservations and purchasing train tickets is a breeze and saves you a ton of time and money out on the street. Of course, as always, just ask alessandra for anything and she's there to help in a moments notice. It's rare to find a person with the character and authenticity that alessandra possesses, especially while traveling abroad. Yet, her apartment feels like home, it's beautiful in every regard and it's this way because it's how alessandra makes you feel while you're visiting her amazing city. If you're looking for a truly memorable Roman experience, in a perfect location with an amazing host, look no further than this apartment. If anyone has questions, I'll be glad to answer them, just let me know. Otherwise, thanks alessandra for everything and we'll see you again next year!

We spent a week in Rome staying in alessandra's apartment. Alessandra had gone out of her way to make us feel home. Although it was a Saturday evening, she was very flexible to let us check in late since we were traveling from the amalfi Coast by car. The apartment was great, better than we expected, very modern, spotless and equipped with everything you would need for a short stay. The hosts had thought of every detail including maps, guidebooks, travel power converters and plugs for non-European gadgets, prepaid Skype account for long distance calls, laptop, and a cell with European SIM just to mention a few things. Its proximity to the Vatican, metro station, shopping and restaurants was a big plus since we did not have to walk miles on very hot days. Alessandra surprised us with a welcoming basket that included delicious Nespresso coffee, good Italian wine and other goodies. Every time we asked alessandra for an advice or help she was there for us. We used Vrbo to rent apartments for other trips but alessandra's place by far was the best.
Next time we travel to Rome we will stay there if it's available.
Thank you alessandra for making our visit to Rome so pleasant and memorable.

We had such a lovely time in Rome and coming home every evening to a lovely apartment made all the difference. Alessandra has put so much care and thought into making the apartment home from home. She is a perfect host and the welcome backet of goodies was a lovely thought and well received. The apartment is in a great position and we managed to walk everywhere and didn't need to use buses or trains. Every corner you turn there is so much to see and such beautiful architecture everywhere. We will definately return to Rome and most definately to this great apartment!

We recently spent a week in Rome in this very nice apartment. The location was perfect...close to the metro, historical sites, and many good restaurants. We walked everywhere from there. The apartment comes equipped with everything you need. The owner, Alessandra, had a welcome basket of food for us on our arrival along with a cell phone that we could use. She arranged for pick up at the airport for us which was wonderful. The apartment also had a computer with Skype credit for our use. Alessandra was available to answer questions and help with anything we needed during our stay. If we come back to Rome, we would definitely stay here again.

We started our honeymoon here, and had a fantastic experience. Alessandra could not have been more welcoming or helpful, and we would recommend the apartment to anyone. There were so many nice additional touches that made the stay special - the welcome basket of goodies, the amazing coffee machine, the mobile and notebook for internet access...the list goes on! The apartment is lovely, and very nicely furnished in a brilliant, central location just around the corner from the Vatican. If you have been looking for the perfect apartment to stay in Rome, don't look any further!

The apartment's location was excellent for exploring Rome, only 2 blocks from the Vatican and subway but away from the hustle of the city. It was a nice oasis in a busy city. We would highly recommend the apartment to anyone traveling to Rome!

Alessandra, the owner, helped us with airport transportation. She is a wonderful and generous person. Alessandra was available by phone and email during our stay. She even helped me coordinate a meeting at a local business due to a language barrier. I currently have balance issues and alessandra had no problem providing me with a bathmat.
Alessandra takes excellent care of the apartment and her guests. She provides you with a wonderful welcome basket filled with goodies. Everything smelled nice and clean in the apartment. Il Mirto is immaculate, spacious, and quiet. We enjoyed having the ability to use the washer, dryer, dishwasher, mobile phone, and computer. The appliances and fixtures were modern and lovely. The bedroom bed was very comfortable. The apartment is on the first floor, and there is a small lift for those who need the help (which I greatly appreciated).
The location was terrific as it was close to the tram and metro, and yet it was in a quiet residential area (which is hard to find in Rome). We made good use of the Franchi nearby, where you can pick up prepared foods.
We also traveled to Florence, the Siena area, and Venice during this vacation, and we found that Il Mirto was the best apartment overall, from being the best equipped and cleanest, to having the most gracious and helpful host. The next time we're in Rome, we will definitely try to stay in Il Mirto. Highly recommended! -

Review #1490563 Simply the Best-Look no further for a place to stay in Rome!!!
I feel like I cannot write enough to truly describe the wonderful experience at Il Mirto!! Alessandra is the perfect perfect host -from the beginning to greeting our car as soon as we arrived at the apartment to when we left arranging a car for us to the airport. By the end of our visit it really felt like we were leaving a friend. Once you walk through the big wooden doors to the courtyard you will be overjoyed! You will get the true Rome experience staying at the apartment. The apartment is in pristine condition, beautifully decorated and well stocked with whatever you may need for your stay. The neighbourhood is so lovely and there is a supermarket very close bye (with also lots of very beautiful stores that you will want to shop in!). The only drawback for us was that we were not there long enough to fully enjoy the apartment and neighbourhood because we had so much to see however next time we will make sure we have plenty of time to enjoy our surroundings! I would like to absolutely recommend this beautiful apartment and you will indeed have the full Rome experience!! We will be back and have already recommended it to many of our friends!

Everything about this apartment was even better than the description. It was spotlessly clean, attractive in every way, convenient to several modes of public transportation, and surrounded by good neighborhood restaurants, both take-away and sitdown.
Best of all was our hostess, Alessandra, who went out of her way to make us comfortable. She met us early in the day to orient us to the apartment, assisted us with ordering tickets to attractions online so we avoided otherwise long lines, and even helped us make arrangements with our non-English-speaking driver to pick us up to go to the airport on our departure day.
We would stay here again any time we go to Rome without even looking further --- if it is available. -

This is our second stay at the apartment on Via dei Gracchi. As always, the apartment has everything we need provided by the wonderful owners. The owners also provide a cell phone (in case you get lost in Roma), computer and Skype account (to stay in touch with the outside world). Upon our arrival, The owners greeted us as if we were family returning from a long vacation! During our visit, my husband ran the Roma di Maritona and was injured. The owners came to his rescue and provided crutches and ice packs to aid in his recovery. They treat you as if you were family and not simply a temporary guest to their country. We always recommend staying at the apartment to our friends because we know they will receive the red carpet treatment. You couldn't ask for better hosts or accommodations. Their warmth and graciousness are infectious and you cannot help but want to return for more. We can't provide enough wonderful words about this apartment or the owners in this small review. Trust us - experience Roma through the hospitality of ale and Max. You will not be disappointed - you will be repeat guests like us! See you again in 2012!

Il Mirto is a wonderful apartment very close to the Vatican! Allessandra is terrific!! She arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport, and she was waiting for us outside the apartment upon our arrival. A wonderful basket full of goodies greeted us which included wine, pasta, bread, cookies (yum), etc.
The shower is fabulous!!! Water pressure is terrific! Washer/dryer is great when you are on an extended vacation. We are a family of four, including two tween daughters. We were all comfortable. The building has a charming old world feeling, and you can open the windows looking onto the courtyard. We skyped our family showing the apartment, including the beautiful view of the courtyard. Everyone loved it!!
The apartment was clean and well maintained. Alessandra provides detergent for the washer, which is convenient. The laptop, skype, internet, Wii Fii, and free international calls are awesome to be included in this property. You definitely do not receive these amenities at hotels and most of the other apartments advertised on Vrbo or elsewhere!! I have to say, these features convinced me to book this particular apartment, and I was not disappointed!
It is two blocks away from the Metro, a market, and a few blocks from the fabulous coin department store. Boutique shops line the streets in the area. Seriously, the next street over is famous for its shopping!
We would return in a heartbeat!! Thank you, Alessandra, for a wonderful stay in your treasured apartment! You are top notch!! -

My husband and I could not have been more satisfied with our stay at this apartment. A charming Roman neighborhood. Off the beaten path but close to everything. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the chance to do so. Our check in was spectacular; prompt and warm and included a thoughtful gift basket filled with delicious goodies for the tired traveler. More amenities than you'd find at a five star hotel but in a small, quaint and no frills setting: Maps, travel books, treats, amazing coffee, cell phone, internet... so on! The thought and warmth extended to guests makes this feel like you are traveling home to stay with your family or best friends. Also this was absolutely perfect setting for a family with children (there is an elevator but we carried our stroller up and down the small flight of stairs). Extraordinarily peaceful at night and a stone's throw from shops to pick up eats, treats and other goods for everyone. We will definitely stay here again should we return to Rome and we have already recommended to our friends to do the same.

Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in February 2011
This beautiful, clean, quiet, and very well appointed apartment became our home while in Rome. After a long day in the city exploring the sites among the crowds, it was a pleasure coming back to the sanctity and sanity of our own 'home'. Even our two year old adjusted to it within a few hours. The apartment was not only incredibly clean and comfortable, it was very functional. A washer/dryer, dishwasher, fully stocked kitchen, even a small library of guide books made our stay very convenient. The owners of the apartment even stock plug adapters for your american devices. Speaking of devices, they also provide full internet connectivity and even a laptop if you don't want to bring your own, moreover, they provided me with a local Rome cell phone prepaid by them. There was nothing we needed that we didn't find. Alessandra made us feel like relatives, not paying guests, the morning we arrived, her husband ran out and bought us fresh bread and pastries, these guys are great. I don't know what alessandra does for a living, but I think she should be a high level executive at some of the largest hotel chains in the world to show them how it's done!

"Amazing" is the only way to describe alessandra's hospitality. From your first contact with her to the very last "Arrivederci", everything she provides is warm, friendly and personal. Alessandra made my wife and I feel like old friends rather than renters -- and gave us a home in Rome that we hope to return to.
She provides absolutely everything you need, and several more things that you did not know you would want (the welcome basket was wonderful - not just some cookies as you might expect, but pasta, espresso, sauces, and loaves of bread - and the maps made finding our way around the first couple of days infinitely easier.). Alessandra even surprised us with a wedding gift upon our first meeting!
Right up the street (on Ottaviano and Germanico) is a wonderful shop called Castroni which sells food from all over the world -- and not more than 300 meters away is an excellent fish restaurant called "L'Eccellenza" (Via Plauto, 38). Vatican City and St. Peter's are only a few blocks further ... and Ottaviano Metro station is only a few blocks in the other direction, making the whole city available to you without the need of a car or taxicab.
Everything is far, far better than the pictures and descriptions could possibly make it out to be -- when we come back, this is where we will stay, no question about it, and we recommend to everyone alessandra's one-in-a-million home-away-from-home. -

Alessandra was very helpful and accommodating, allowing us to arrive early after a long flight, arranging our transportation, and even having a welcome basket providing us lunch when we got there on a day many stores were closed. Sorry for drinking all the coffe you left for us! I bought one of those espresso machines for myself as soon as I got home! The gelato place on the corner was amazing, and the local restaruant on the same block was some of the best food we had on our 2 continient tour. You will love your time here on Via dei Gracchi.

Can you image or have you ever dreamed to live in a thousand years historic building in Roma? La Violetta will definitely make your dream come true!!
This is our first time to live in an apartment during our travel, and my wife and I are so glad that we can have the chance to stay in La Violetta. It is just wonderful~
The apartment itself is brand-new, stylish decoration and spotless, exactly the same as the pictures showed in the website, even better~
And with all the vital functions you need of a real living, you can feel that La Violetta is your lovely home away from home. Every day when we went back, we always suprised (and enjoy) about the quite and calm atmosphere allow us to have a quality sleep without any clamor. It's just like we are truly living in Roma!!
And the best is the beauty and charming hostess, Alessandra. Actually she is not like a hostess, but a friend you've known each other for a long time. There is no distance between you, won't feel like you are just the guest, she is always there for you, like a family member, and chatting with you about your country, history and how have you been, like after several years traveling outside you are finally home together with your family.
Yes, Alessandra and La Violetta is the best experience during our this trip, we will definitely recommand to everyone and we will definitely go back when we are in Roma next time!!
Thank you alessandra, xie xie ver much~ :) -

La Violetta was the best apartment I have ever rented in Italy. Alessandra, the owner was waiting outside the apartment when I arrived which was a big relief after a long flight. She is very personable and explained the appliances which included free skype international calls. The welcome basket was also a nice touch. The apartment is fully equipped, large and cheery.
The apartment is in a fantastic location, near the metro station and bus stops. There is even a great gelateria on the same street which should not be missed. Mercato Trionfale and other supermarkets are within walking distance. Alessandra also made excellent restaurant recommendation.
I will definitely return and stay at La Violetta again.

...that was our conclusion after spending a wonderful week at alessandra's lovely apartment. Located on a pleasant street in the heart of the Prati district, the roomy one bedroom apartment had everything we needed and wanted for our week in one of Europe's most fascinating cities. Bus stops, two major Metro stations and a major taxi stand all are within a few minutes easy walk from the apartment, giving us the best of both worlds-a peaceful and quiet sanctuary removed from the bustling (and noisy) tourist areas, but convenient access to those same areas for our sightseeing activities. The spacious and bright apartment, which has a large living room with dining area, a dazzling and well equipped kitchen a beautifully appointed bathroom, large bedroom and beautiful hardwood floors throughout, was a godsend after a busy day out. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay in alessandra's lovely apartment and will most definitely be staying here for our future visits to Rome-there is no reason for us to look elsewhere, since we have already found the perfect Roman apartment. Ciao!

Left on 12/08/2010 for a stay in November 2010
I was here with my husband and 1-year-old baby. The apartment played a big part in making our trip to Rome a success. The following are its highlights:
1. Alessandra: She helped us booked our airport transfer and called a cab to the railway station on our last day. Knowing that our transfers were taken care was a huge relief as we felt so burdened by all the baby stuff we had to deal with (stroller, car seat etc). We also appreciated her thoughtfulness - including milk, bananas and yogurt for the welcome pack so that we could just relax upon arriving at the apartment instead of scurrying around looking for food for the baby. She was responsive via email before our trip and ready to answer any questions, which made planning the trip a lot easier.
2. Location: The apartment is in a nice residential neighborhood. The market is just a 2-minute walk away, and there are several good restaurants around. Shopping was great, with several cute little boutiques and bigger stores about a 5-minute walk away. We were not inundated with shops catered for tourists, but were eating and shopping at places where the locals patronized, which we enjoyed so much more. The Vatican is a short walk away, and, if you enjoy walking, most of the sights are walkable. With a stroller, we walked from the Borghese Gallery, stopping by at the Trevi fountain for dinner, before strolling back home. Likewise, we also walked from the Colosseum back to the apartment, stopping by the Jewish ghetto for dinner. If you choose not to walk, the metro is just 5-7 minutes away on foot.
3. Apartment: Simply and tastefully furnished. We felt like a Roman family staying there. It provided plenty of space for our baby to crawl around, and was well-equipped with the necessary appliances.
Summary: I doubt anyone would regret making this choice. We enjoyed our time there and would return there. -

La Violetta apartment was absolutely perfect for our 9-day Roman Holiday. Owner alessandra's sunny personal greeting on arrival and the very welcome basket of snacks and other goodies were wonderful after the long overnight flight. The apartment was a beautiful, roomy, immaculate, practical and modern home-away with luxury extras. The kitchen was well equipped with all cooking necessities and pantry staples. In fact, the whole apartment was well stocked with everything you could need. We really appreciated the netbook with Skype phone and the espresso machine. Located near supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, metro stop, and the best gellateria (mentioned in the New York Times), we lacked nothing and yet enjoyed quiet rest away from street noise. Ali made herself available for assistance and truly anticipated our every need, and her welcoming of us to her city was genuinely warm and gracious. We had a most terrific stay and give the entire apartment experience a Five-star recommendation.

The laptop in the apartment was so helpful when booking train locations and staying in touch with family back home. Alessandra is wonderful. If she was an american, she would be a Southerner because she is such as gracious host. She offered fabulous suggestions on day trips, gelato, etc. I recommend this apartment wholeheartedly. This apartment has everything one would need to visit Rome at leisure. Its location cannot be beaten: a 10 minute walk away from St Peter's Basilica and even less than that to the Ottaviano Metro Station from where one can easily reach anywhere in Rome with ease. Buses from Piazza Risorgimento, via Cola di Rienzo and from via de Crescenzo are also very close by. The apartment is even better than the pictures. Alessandra takes care of all the details. The aC was a blessing after having walked the streets of Rome for hours in the scorching august sun. We really appreciated the well equipped kitchen and the netbook with Wifi. The generous addition of a skype credit for overseas calls, the phone for local calls and the welcome basket were also added extras that give this apartment an edge on the rest. Look no further, this is it. We will readily return anytime given the opportunity.

When we arrived in Rome airport, Alessandra called us, to double check we were ok travelling to the apartment. Once we arrived, Alessandra was at the apartment door, waiting to welcome us. We were shown around the apartment as instructed how to use certain items and equipment. Alessandra made us feel very welcome (especially with a Welcome Basket), and gave us lots of advice about exploring Rome and what to definitely experience. We were also impressed by alessandra's English vocabulary, and interest in learning more English words!
As for the apartment, there are no bad points to mention whatsoever! It is clean, homely, and has anything plus more that you could need while staying in Rome! The apartment is perfectly located approximately 2 minutes from St Peter's square and the Vatican. The apartment was perfect to relax and recharge in after a day's exploring, and is located down a quieter road in Rome, so we could not hear much traffic at night.
If we ever come to Rome again, we will most definitely be staying in alessandra's beautiful apartment. Thank you alessandra! -

We were very impressed with the La Violetta apartment and the extraordinary service from alessandro in providing us with information prior to arrival, arranging transport to and from the airport, meeting us on arrival at the apartment and providing us with an excellent welcome pack. She also provided lots of useful local information on the location of key shops and services.
The apartment was well equipped, modern, clean, secure and very well located within walking distance to the Vatican. The temperature while we were in Rome was 38-39 degrees each day we were there and the air conditioning was particularly appreciated after a long day looking at the sights.
We would have no hesitation recommending the apartment to anyone planning a short or medium term stay in Rome. Thanks alessandro for making our first visit to Rome so enjoyable.

We totally enjoyed our stay in this quiet apartment by the Vatican. The neighborhood is neat, with lots of great restaurants and shops. The metro stop is right near by, so getting around was fairly easy. The owner/manager of the apartment, Alessandra, was really helpful. I'm an architect and she gave me a lot of good tips on things to see and how to get to them. All in all, we had a great trip, and this apartment was one of the reasons why- it was a total refuge from the heat and chaos of the city. Really enjoyed our stay!

Left on 07/06/2010 for a stay in June 2010
After spending last week in Rome, we can honestly say that alessandra's apartment was a blessing in so many ways. First, the location is amazing, literally a 3 minute walk to the Vatican in one direction and a 3 minute walk to the Metro Station in the other. Couple that with walking distance to just about everywhere in downtown Rome and you have a perfect and quiet location. Set in a beautiful old Italian building, complete with courtyard, the apartment has been remodeled with all of the modern day amenities that a visitor could imagine. Whether the welcome basket of food goodies, maps and tour books, or even a private computer (that we used extensively to make tour reservations and train ticket reservations) -- everything is perfect and pristine. Finally, and most importantly is alessandra herself, who made us feel so comfortable and helped in every imaginable way. I can honestly say that alessandra is a now a true friend and we definitely plan to be back next year to visit the apartment and the wonderful city of Rome yet again. If you're debating whether or not to stay in a hotel or this apartment (or any apartment) -- look no further, you want to stay here for sure. A perfect place to stay in Rome.

I stayed at this apartment for the weekend with my partner. We were welcomed by Alessandra, who provided us with all the local knowledge we needed for our stay. We both thought that the apartment was a lot better than the photos and was more than fully equipped for our needs. The apartment is very new and clean and in an excellent location. We were able to walk to the metro (5 mins), high street (5 mins), restaurants/ice cream shops (5mins) and Vatican (10mins). If we are lucky enough to visit Rome again, we will be staying at this apartment!

La Violetta is a charming well appointed quiet apartment in a fabulous location. Both the Vatican and the Metro are a 10 min. walk away, a lovely market is just up the street and the best gelato in Rome is close by! Alessandra, our gracious host, thought of everything to make our stay memorable. There was a beautiful welcome basket stocked with goodies, an amply stocked pantry, local maps and tourist guides, and plenty of hot water for our morning showers. Believe the pictures - this apartment is even better than it looks! Alessandra was always available to answer questions or offer dining or sightseeing advice. We had a wonderful 4 days in Rome and alessandra and La Violetta were a big part of that.

My family and I (husband and 2 girls ages 6 and 9) traveled to Italy in June spending a week in Positano and our last 5 days in Rome. Upon arriving to this apartment after a long ride up from the amalfi Coast and a visit to Pompeii on the way, Alessandra was there to greet us with such a warm welcome. We were all exhausted and the welcome basket she provided was a lifesaver - great pasta, tomato sauce and wine - my six year old loved the little pizzas and cookies too! We were too tired to eat out and were so thankful for the added hospitality. The apartment is very comfortable for a family of 4 - plenty of storage space for everyone and spotless. It is locatated close to everything - the Vatican, walking distance to Castel Sant angelo, Piazza Navona and the Metro stop is close by to reach the sights further away. The Metro is very easy to use - even for Vermonters - our kids never rode a subway before! The apartment is newly refurbished with all modern top of the line appliances and amenities. Alessandra thought of everything we may have needed to ensure our stay was comfortable - even coffee for the next morning! She is a pleasure to work with. Thanks alessandra -we'll be back! We had a blast!

We had such a fantastic time in Rome we really didn't want to leave. Alessandra was pleasant from the time I sent my first email requesting the apartment until the time we left. She was right there to meet us when we arrived and gave us a wonderful welcome.
The apartment is only a several minute walk from the Vatican and walking distance to Piazza Navona and Piazza del Popolo. Definitely walk by St. Peter's Square at night, since it is so close.
Be sure to get your tickets ahead of time for the Colosseum/Rome Forum and Vatican. It will definitely save you time from waiting in those long lines. Touring the Vatican will get you into St. Peter's Basilica. We also highly recommend Borghese Gallery. You must have an appointment time and can get your tickets on-line. Our 18 year old daughter even loved the palace and sculptures of Bernini.
Alessandra, thank you once again for your amazing hospitality. Your apartment made us feel part of the Italian culture and was so lovely. We would definitely rent your place again. Ciao!" -

We loved staying at La Violetta. It gave us an oasis to come home to every evening after sightseeing all day. It was very close to everything, especially the Vatican. Alessandra couldn't have been more helpful. She was available if we needed her. The apartment is just like the pictures and we realized we were spoiled after staying here and then going to a property on the amalfi Coast. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

We are a couple and 2 children (7 & 9) and stayed in La Violetta in Rome for 7 days after having spent 2 weeks in Northern Tuscany. Quite a change of pace, but La Violeta was our oasis amongst the frenetic tempo of Rome. Alessandra greeted us on our arrival at the front door, and was the consumate host. A lovely basket of goodies was provided for us to enjoy as we settled in to the neighbourhood. The apartment itself was spotless, everything worked as it should, and was roomy enough to fit us all in with ease. Ale and Max have excellent taste - La Violetta is beautifully furnished. The location is excellent - very close to the metro and within a short stroll of many very good local eateries. Alessandra recommended several places that turned out to be very good indeed. We benefited from having wifi (netbook provided for guest use), and were also able to refer to a well stocked library of travel guides, maps etc. We would certainly stay again, and have already recommended La Violetta to a number of friends planning to visit Rome. Perfetto!

The pictures and description on this website perfectly reflect the place. The owner, Alessandra, gave us a wonderful booklet of information and maps and a delightful basket of local goodies. We loved being close to the Metro and Vatican City and it was great to be able to eat at the local trattorias, cafes and shop on the quiet streets. Alessandra was so helpful about the area's activities, places to see, eat and shop and also arranged our transportation from the airport. We totally enjoyed staying here at La Violetta and would highly recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I and our 12 year old son had the most wonderful stay in this apartment and it became our accommodation highlight for our 5 week trip in Europe. The apartment was comfortable and spotless; the kitchen had everything that you needed to cook 'at home'; there was fast internet access; the beds were really comfortable including the sofa bed; the apartment building was located in a quiet position and so we all slept very well. The location is so convenient to catching a metro or just walking to many local attractions. The owner was so friendly and helpful. We feel that we have made a new and special friend. Nothing was too much trouble. She organised a personalised taxi-service for us at the airport and was able to advise us what museums etc were opened over the Easter period. The goodie basket was very generous and had even catered for our dietary needs.. a very pleasant surprise. We look forward to returning one day (we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rome) and have already recommended the property to friends who are in Rome later in the year.

Absolutely perfect choice for our family and easily the best we have found
after several vacations throughout Europe. The apartment was exactly as
described and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Extremely clean and
comfortable with all the amenities ...it felt like a home away from home. It is
only a very short walk to the Vatican City, Vatican Museum and many other
historic sites. The bus and subway stations are also very accessible nearby
making day excursions throughout Roma very easy. The local food was
mesmerizing and the gelato shop down the street is not to be missed. While
attending a Papal audience and touring the Sistine Chapel was a highlight of
our trip we will always remember most the graciousness of our hosts
Alessandra and her husband Max. They were unbelievably helpful from the
start and secured our every need from transport arrangement to a thoughtful
gift basket upon arrival. Their hospitality made this our most memorable trip
yet. We are definitely recommending this gem to all of our friends and family

As a person who has travelled to Rome several times, I was extremely pleased with this apartment. We stayed there with our two grandsons and it was outstanding. Alessandra, couldn't have been a better host, meeting us upon arrival and providing a well stocked welcome basket along with all the printed directions for everything you could need. She even helped us obtain return travel to the airport. The apartment was even better than the pictures indicate (a unique experience!). The kitchen was roomy and well-equipped, the shower good and everything was immaculate. An unexpected bonus was the large closet area in the master bedroom which accommodated all of our luggage etc. keeping the travel clutter out of the rest of the living space. The apartment is close to the vatican and yet in a residential area that provided great shopping and restaurants and a more Roman feel than the more touristy spots. We truly hated to leave. The bad news is that this is such a great find that you will have to plan quite a way in advance to have availability. But, it is definitely worth planning your trip around the opportunity to stay at this property.

"My wife and I just returned from a week stay in Rome and consider
ourselves very fortunate to have found this listing. Upon arrival at 7 am on
Sunday the 21st of March, we were met at the door by the lovely Alessandra
who after spending about 30 seconds with, qualifies as one of the finest
people you have ever met. Given that our arrival was so early in the
morning, her husband took our luggage to the apartment while Alessandra
immediately began our first tour of Rome. She walked us down the lovely
street where the apartment is located only 2 blocks from the Vatican. I
can't say enough about the location. We were right in the middle of
everything. Shops, cafe's and many other things. The Metro line was only
two blocks north of the apartment and less than a 5 minute walk. After
exploring Rome for 7 days, I can't imagine a more wonderful and safe
location. Alessandra took us to breakfast while filling us in on the
neighborhood and also helped us with a couple of Italian phrases to get us
through the week. She was an absolute sweetheart and offered numerous
times to help us in any way. Having traveled extensively, I have never
encountered such a wonderful hostess.
After arriving in the apartment later in the day, we were pleasantly
surprised that the beautiful pictures don't even do it justice. They have
completely remodeled this apartment and loaded it with every amenity
available. It is warm, cozy and has everything you need for your stay. Later
in our stay, I contacted Alessandra via email about some questions we had
regarding a day trip we were planning and literally got a reply inside of 5
minutes. I simply can't say enough about the apartment, the location, the
hostess and everything that she did for us. I would recommend this to
anyone coming to Rome and guarantee you will be overwhelmed with
service and a lovely place to stay. Many thanks to Alessandra and her
husband for providing what turned out to be, the most enjoyable trip ever. -

Alessandra and her husband have done an amazing job at offering what has to be the nicest apartment we've stayed in. Rome can be a little expensive to eat out, but like us, you'll be more than happy to cook your own delicious Italian meal in the apartment (you can always wander down the street to get a gelato for dessert!) We'll definitely be recommending this place to our friends and family. Thank you Alessandra! Justin & Becca

The apartment is more lovely than the pictures and has everything...washer/dryer, excellent WiFi service, dishwasher, plenty of hot water and good water pressure, big soft towels, plenty of closet and drawer space, and the most well equipped kitchen we have ever had in Europe. Also, the location is unbeatable. You can easily walk to almost every place you want to see in Rome. If you don't want to walk, the subway is 2 blocks away and is efficient and inexpensive. The neighborhood is quiet with markets and excellent restaurants. Without a doubt, Alessandra and this apartment will significantly increase your enjoyment of Rome.

I asked Alessandra if I could write her a review, even though I actually live in Rome and therefore did not physically stay in her apartment. I came into contact with Alessandra via the internet when I was looking for a flat for my brother and his wife who were comng to Italy for a few weeks for my son's wedding. Initially I pinpointed the apartment because of the location (close to where I live) and the presentation, photos, description and reviews. I contacted Alessandra and asked if I could see the place before booking because I wanted to be sure that it was right for my brother. No problem. Having established that the apartment was exactly as illustrated in the photos (newly refurbished, spotless and with all mod cons) I decided to book it. Then I met Alessandra in person: she is quite delightful. She genuinely wants her visitors to enjoy her city. She really wants to meet them, to learn about them, to understand their needs. Added to that, when visitors arrive, they find flowers, a food hamper for the first night, a brand new TV set, skype, a computer, hints and guidance for getting about Rome.
I have often rented short term flats in various cities around the world. If I had met other "Alessandras" upon arrival, I would have been thrilled. But it's rare. People generally see it as a job: do what is needed but little more. Alessandra is different. In fact we have become friends.

The gem in Prati……a beautiful apartment ideally located where a visitor to Rome can be captivated by this city, living on the door step of some of its most fascinating attractions. It’s the place to be!
We were fortunate to find this apartment, on the internet and we knew we were on the right track when Alessandra introduced us to our temporary home. She is “molto simpatica†and very caring to make sure our stay was relaxed, comfortable and rewarding…it was certainly 3 weeks of fun, education, awe and excitement.
This recently renovated apartment works well and is extremely comfortable. Another unique feature is its proximity to the market where you are able to buy fresh food everyday to cook in the apartment. If that’s too much there is a wide selection of excellent restaurants and if shopping is your thing it’s just outside the door.
We just loved our time in Rome and thank you Alessandra for your guidance and providing such an outstanding home to spend our time. Free access to Skype and the internet was an additional bonus.

Most of the places I've stayed in in Rome have been noisy, expensive and in poor repair. Not this flat. It's beautiful and everything works! The neighborhood is genuinely Roman, and the windows open onto a large private courtyard so you don't hear any street noise. The unit itself was redesigned and by an architect who has a good sense of both aesthetics and function. You can walk or catch a bus to any part of the city very easily. Alessandra is there to welcome you, to see you off, and to take care of whatever needs you have in between. We'll be back for sure.

You can stop searching for apartments in Rome. This is the place you've been looking for. All the reviews are true. We have rented vacation apartments all over the world. This one is of exceptional quality and value. The large apartment was tastefully renovated with excellent craftsmanship and all the modern conveniences, yet still captures some of the original architectural features. But more than that, Alessandra is a new breed of owner/host. She is dedicated to the happiness and comfort of her guests. She anticipates all your needs, makes sure all your questions are answered, and offers her friendship as part of the package. She even placed special decorations around the apartment for our Christmas cheer. When rain was expected, she brought over an umbrella holder for us, along with a few more scented canldes. Her passion for cultural exchange, and genuine kindness and joy filled our hearts and touched our souls. We had wonderful conversations. All her recommendations were bang on! She didn’t simply provide us with a space to live. The time she spent with us made our Rome experience something we will always cherish. When we return to Rome (the sooner the better) we will stay here again. Perfect location, perfect accommodations, perfect hostess!
