      Great, spacious apartment near Colosseum

      Left on 03/04/2012 for a stay in February 2012

      After many hours of searching various sites my wife found this 80 m2 apartment with two bedrooms, large living room, fully furnished kitchen and WiFi (must be booked separately, €5/day), at a 5 minute walk from the Colosseum and very affordable too. At first we couldn't believe this was true but it really was; it's an excellent location to discover ancient Rome since Colosseum, Forum Romanum, Basilica San Clemente, Piazza Venezia and many great restaurants are within walking distance. What struck us was how quiet it was at night: pretty amazing in the middle of Rome. Note however that the apartment is located on the 3rd floor (six stairs), and that there's no elevator. And since the night temperature was about 5 degrees Celsius when we stayed here, we're not sure how hot it'll be during the summer since it's the top floor and the open roof (very decorative btw) is not isolated. There is an abundance of air conditioners mounted so you can probably keep it cool enough. Another plus is the separate 'wing' with small seating location, bathroom and double bed that can even be locked so this apartment could be perfect for two couples traveling together
