Marseille, Franceexcellent séjour dans la ville éternelle
Left on 02/22/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Left on 02/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our apartment was just down the road from St Pietro railway station. Two bedrooms with a balcony from which you can see St Peter's Basilica. The practicalities: cake and doughnut shop on ground floor. Carrefour five minutes walk open 7 days a week 8 am until 8 pm. Very good local shops (bread, pasta and chocolates) if you walk down to St Peter's square. Number 64 bus can be found at the station which is a five minute walk. The bus will take you all the way to Termini passing through the middle of Rome. There is a local produce market (fish, meat, pasta etc) about 15 minutes walk away the otherside of Vatican city on the Via Cola Dl Rienzo.
The location is perfect for seeing the best of Rome and yet far enough away from the main tourist areas for you to have a little peace and quiet. Well organised, charming host and reasonably priced collection/drop to the airport should make this place top of the list for apartments in Rome.

Wir waren im Sommer eine Woche in dieser tollen Wohnung. Die Fotos sind nicht gestrunzt. Der Blick vom Balkon ist wirklich so toll und hat uns zu einem abendlichen absacker auf dem Balkon animiert! Sehr gut ausgestattete Wohnung. Es fehlt an nichts (Waschmaschine, Geschirrspüler,Bügeleisen,Fön,etc.) Außerdem ist der Vermieter sehr, sehr hilfsbereit! Wer also na zum Vatikan wohnen will ist hier perfekt aufgehoben. Zu den anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten muss man zu Fuß halt über eine der Brücken ...

This apartment was just great, so close to the train station and the buses and a short walk to the basilica (which we walked past at every opportunity) Apartment was clean and quiet very close the the supermarket and several restaurants within walking distance.. we felt very safe.. we found a lovely little coffee stop, great coffee and great price, and the icecream shop just around the corner, I would definately stay here again, really enjoyed the apartment and its proximity to everything

Adelaide, AustraliaLovely introduction to Rome
Left on 12/27/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at Comfort Rome Vaticano 2 - it had everything we needed, was clean, bright, spacious and comfortable. We loved being able to sit out on the balcony overlooking St Peters Basilica which looked fabulous lit up at night, and enjoyed breakfast there in the morning sun. The area was quiet and there was a very handy supermarket nearby as well as a few restaurants with good Italian food and service. As we were very lucky with the beautiful September weather, we walked to many of the main attractions from the apartment - the Collaseum, Trevi Fountain, Forum, Vatican, Spanish Steps etc. The owner Paolo greeted us upon arrival and ensured we were comfortable and knew where things were, especially given this was our first time in Rome. He was most helpful and we knew he was a phone call away if we needed any assistance. We would stay here again given the opportunity to come back and explore more of this interesting city.

Left on 12/03/2012 for a stay in November 2012
The flat is very clean, quiet and spacious, with a balcony that has a fab view of the Dome of St Peters.
We were there as a couple, but it would be equally appropriate for 2 couples or a family.
The owner, Paolo, was very attentive and helpful and was available at all times if we happened to have a problem.
All in all a very satisfying trip, and I would highly recommend this apartment. -

We were a young couple travelling with a 6 month old baby. The appartment his well located very close to the marvellous Vatican and to a grocery, restaurants and a train station. Everything was perfect for our little girl, her own room, a baby cot, etc. Paolo make us feel home so far from it! We would recommanded this place to anyone looking for an amazing stay for a fair price.

Left on 10/14/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We stayed for five days at the Comfort Rome Vaticano 2 in august 2012. We also took advantage of the airport transfer service which worked very well for us as we were travelling with a senior and a young child. The driver was there when we arrived and we were very quickly en route to our apartment. Paolo was friendly, attentive and helpful. He greeted us on arrival and took the time to explain how things worked in the apartment. Make sure to ask about the washing machine and wifi.
The apartment was clean, bright and well equipped. We especially enjoyed the balcony with great views of St. Peter's Dome. Although this may be obvious to some, we were surprised that there was no living room to the apartment (converted to one of the bedrooms) but the apartment was still large enough to accommodate the four of us easily. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. We were grateful for air conditioning units in the two bedrooms in the heat of august. We had a problem with one of the units which made for one hot night but Paolo quickly followed up with us and had it fixed the next morning.
In terms of the location of the apartment, it was well located and in close proximity to St. Peter's and Trastevere. The neighbourhood is quiet in the evenings. There is a nice little bakery next door to the apartment and a Casino grocery is a short walk away. We were underwhelmed by the restaurants as most in the area catered to tourists. There is no metro stop nearby nor is there an outdoor market (that we found). There is a taxi stand in close proximity with taxis usually there for hire.
Overall, the accommodation met our expectations. Paolo's client service was key to our experience. From booking to arrival, during our stay and our departure (helped arrange our transfer to our cruise), Paolo was available to answer questions, quick to solve problems and all was done with a smile. Grazie mille Paolo! -

First off the pictures really don't do justice to this apartment! We spent 3 weeks in June 2012 with out 9 year old son and it was more than accomodating for our needs.
Paolo makes sure everything is perfect for you and takes care of any problems as well as your transportation from and to the airport. The apartment was clean and very spacious, located very, very, close to the Vatican as well as to the bus, metro, train and taxi lines in case you don't feel like walking everywhere.
It really made us feel like home and we had a wonderfull stay in part because we felt secure and nothing was very far from reach.
The only drawback if you can call it that, is that as soon as we got home we started planning (some call it scheming) another vacation to Rome so Paolo don't be surprised if we call you soon. Thank you for all you do

Left on 08/31/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Great location a couple of hundred metres away from the dome. We also walked from the apartment to all the main sights in the centre - about 3 mile round trip which was fantastic. We also walked to Trastevere which has some great bars and restaurants...and lots of churches. Great bakery downstairs, but they sell out quickly so you have to be up early. Number 64 bus stops around the corner, or catch a train directly from the airport, changing at Trastevere (50 mins). 5 main walk to the Vatican.
The apartment is very quiet, clean and well maintained. Paolo is a superb host and goes out of his way to help. Aircon is a must when its 33-35 most days. We cooked a couple of days too using the well equipped kitchen. We have been travelling for 3 weeks and this was one of the best places we stayed at, especially considering the price which was very reasonable for 4 of us. -

Started a 19-day Italy tour with four days in Rome. The accomodations were as advertised
for two couples travelling together it was perfect! Paulo met us at the apartment. We only needed the air Conditioning on the last two days but it was nice to have. So close to the Vatican (and all transportation) so getting around was easy. Paulo arranged for transport from the airport for 45E for four people and luggage which was nice. For the price it was excellent. -

Left on 06/08/2012 for a stay in April 2011
When we decided on a week-long stay in Rome we knew we would like a place where we could make our own meals and have some space for the four of us. The place had to be close to some attractions and have easy access to transportation. The Comfort Rome Vaticano 2 had it all.
The most important feature of this rental was Paolo. He picked up our friends at the airport when they arrived, gave us plenty of great advice and most importantly of all was very friendly, speaks excellent English and was always available. He's very good at responding to texts. I could not begin to list all of the kind things he did for us! He went far beyond expectations and redefined excellent customer service for us.
The building is very secure and in a nice neighbourhood, close to some restaurants. Take a very short walk and you are at the Vatican. Less than two blocks away there is a well-stocked grocery store, complete with wine, of course.
Walk less than two blocks in another direction and you are at a bus stop. I can't say that the bus service in Rome is great though...but walk a few blocks past the Vatican and you will be at a subway station.
The rooms were nice and clean with a washing machine and a balcony which affords you a view of the Pope's apartment. It's not in the centre of the city but close enough to get there fast and far enough away to be peaceful.
The elevator is something you must experience. It fits about two normal sized adults, and that can be a tight squeeze with grocery bags. It is a European cultural phenomenon.
If I return to Rome I will definitely stay here again. -

Our stay in the apartment was exactly what I had expected it to be. The accommodations were spacious (2 bdrm, 1 bath + kitchen, dining room, and even a lovely balcony sitting area). We also had free Wifi and the neighborhood surrounding the apartment had lots of great restaurants, nearby transportation, and grocery stores. Not to mention the fact that it is within walking distance to the Vatican! I would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone who is planning a visit to Rome!

Near Liverpool…and the Balcony is really a big hit.
Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The Idea was to revisit Rome, and this time also to take my 77 y.o mother with us. 2 generations under one roof is usually not a good start for a short break.
We needed 2 bedrooms therefore, and the rental apartment did seem a very good option.
The key was to have a good base, in good location, obviously 2 separate bedrooms, and some good facilities for a little cup of tea, or even a big breakfast.
All that for a reasonable price. With Comfort Rome Vaticano2 we've got more than we were hoping for.
From the first contact via internet, through the excellent and prompt communication (not just response to our question, but also some useful suggestions), ... down to the perfect pick up/drop off service to the airport. Everything exactly as we wanted.
The apartment was a very good choice for us. Just round the corner a Carefour supermarket, and nearby plenty of Italian restaurants (and one Chinese :D). The number 64 bus was also just round the corner. We even made the use of the train once (returning home on a rainy day from the Vatican museum, just 2 stop on the tube to Valle aurelia, and 2 minutes on the train to San Pietro - faster than walking back - ... and dry :D)
Paolo left us also his mobile number for the emergencies. We did not intend to use it, but it proved to be rather helpful (thanks for that!)
All together just 2 complaints. Firstly the weather (really just a little bit rain one of the days) - Paolo, please better next time. And the second is more a question. When are the Italians finally learn how to cook a proper pasta? This "al dente” thing is no good to us.
Thanks a lot for everything Paolo and Good Bless!

I rented this apartment with three friends in May and it was great. It is a few blocks from the Vatican with several decent restaurants within walking distance. The beds were comfy and the bedrooms were both good sized. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony chatting and drinking coffee in the morning and wine at night. The apartment was immaculate and Paolo was a wonderful host. He met us with keys upon arival, showed us where to change money and pointed out restaurants for that evening. He encouraged us to call him on his cell phone if we needed anything or had questions. We would highly recommend this apartment!!

We stayed in Comfort Rome Vaticano2 in 2011 and had such a great experience that we decided to return in 2012 together with our son and his girlfriend. This homey place is well maintained and unequaled when it comes to location and value. The close proximity to St. Peter's Basilica, public transport, good restaurants, etc are a big plus. We went to the Pope's Easter Vigil Mass which ended at midnight and were thankful we only had to walk back "home". Paolo, the owner, is one who values relationships and did all he could to make our stay more enjoyable than the first. This is the kind of place you would want to return to.

Left on 03/31/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Just had a 9 days stay (march 2012).
Perfect!!!. I have a lot of experience in renting apartment in Europe, my favorite way of living in Europe; much cheaper than a hotel, much more convenient and much more "local" life. First of all is the size;75 square meters!!!
Second; it have a great location, 5 minutes walk to Vatican, 2 minutes walk to bus # 64 that take you anywhere to all major sights (or you can easily walk) in Rome and 2 minutes walk to San Pietro Rail Station (Pisa anyone?).Also 3 minutes walk to Carrefour Supermarket where we stock up our full size frige with everything from water, milk, coffee, ham, cheese, wine, eggs, bread, etc ect.(that save you a lot of money in restaurants).
Third; the apartment have absolutly everything, from full size fridge, pots and pans, dishes, glassware, soap etc etc.
Fourth; Paolo the owner/manager is a great host; he was waiting for us at the apartment upon our arrival and departure). He arrange for us a free pickup at the airport with a private driver (if you stay more than a week) in a Mercedez Benz that took us directly to the apartment in 40 minutes intead of the 2 hours by train/bus.
He also arrange a private driver (just the 2 of us in a Mercedez private car,not a tour bus with 40 people; that is very anoying!!) for a full day (8 hours)(as much we wish to visit at each place, the driver was waiting for us) to Tivoli,Adriana Villa and Villa d'Este!! This is a must; it is very time consuming and very difficult to visit those 2 sights in Tivoli by local transport;(bus+metro+train+bus+bus+train+metro+train!!!You spend more time in commuting than visiting!!)It is worth every euros.Thank you again Paolo, we will certainly be back.
There is thousands of apartments to rent in Rome; I did a lot of research; nothing is better than comfort Rome Vaticano for the price and location and Wondurfull host!!

I have to say, this property after seeing hundreds, really outdid itself. The pictures online do not do it justice. Paolo take new pictures!
The apartment was immaculate as well as very large and one could literally eat off the floor, which made me very happy, as I am very particular.
My grown son and I stayed at Paolo's apartment on a mother /son trip to Rome in March.
My composer son was ecstatic that we had found such a wonderful apartment, with an amazing view of the Vaticano. Paolo was the perfect host, extremely warm and kind.
We really felt at home and very welcome in our little haven, after a long day of visiting all the sites and stuffing ourselves with fantastic pasta and gelato in Trastevere and literally walking all over the wonderous city.
Paolo, grazie mille! You have a treasure here and you are a tremendous, gracious host. We could not have chosen better location or home.
I will be back with the rest of my family in the winter. It is the perfect time to get away from the crowds.
Veramente perfetto ! Stupendo !
We hope you come and visit us on Lake Como where we live, someday.
Thank you again for everything and for making our trip so special.

I recently rented this 2 bedroom apartment with my husband and 14 year old son. This apartment offers all the comforts of your own home. I did not have a single complaint. This property is in a perfect location, very safe, accessible to a bakery for breakfast, local markets, restaurants, a neighborhood bar, very close to the Vatican and most major attractions. Even though it is easy to get a bus, taxi or train, it is within walking distance to everything Rome has to offer.
The owner, Paolo, is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about Rome and even leaves maps, and a self made booklet of what to see and do in Rome. He will even set up your transfers to and from the airport. He meets you at your time of arrival and is the most gracious host.
I absolutely recommend this apartment for your stay in Rome.
While we had an amazing 9 days in Rome, I would also recommend a restaurant called Spirito DiVino. It's about a 20 minute walk from the apartment. This place has a ton of history and fabulous food. The owners here as well are incredibly gracious. This was my favorite place to eat.
I'd like to add that my daughter is doing a semester in Rome. Her apartment was near the Vatican so Comfort Rome was the perfect location for our visit. -

I would readily stay here or at any other property run by Paolo in the future. The short 10 min. walk to the Vatican was very convenient, the 64 bus was 5 min away and takes you to the center of Rome, what more could you ask for. Thanks Paolo for an enjoyable stay.

Left on 12/07/2011 for a stay in November 2011
This apartment was one of the highlights of our stay in Italy. It was our first ever visit to Roma and our first time using FlipKey. A success on both accounts.
The apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, and a TV in each bedroom (for those who needed it).
Location for viewing the Vatican, St. Peter's. etc was fantastic - a very short walk. It was a bit of a longer trek to get to the heart of Roma where the Colosseum, Pantheon, etc. were located (about 30 minutes). Worth it for the views along the way.
We also felt very safe where we were, the neighbourhood seemed family oriented (a school nearby). There is also a little bakery beside the gate into the apartments, and they had the most delicious treats! Picked something up every day.
Paolo was wonderful to communicate with, and made sure that we were well taken care of for our stay in Roma. We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Left on 10/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We stayed here in august 2011 and what an amazing time we had in Rome! Thanks in part to this lovely apartment and the friendliness of Paolo. The apartment is in a lovely quiet residential area only 5 minutes walk from St.Peters Square (my favorite Rome landmark). There's a well stocked supermarket only 5 minutes walk the other direction. Also, as it's only 2 minutes walk from the closest bus stop, everywhere in the city is only a bus ride away. Much needed in the heat of august! He arranged to pick my mother in law up from the airport with a very friendly taxi service and was there to meet us all at the apartment when we arrived. He was full of useful information and helped us to find our bearings. The views of St. Peters Basilica at night time form the balcony are breath taking - the photo doesn't lie! The only down side is that there is no living area as such. There is a well fitted kitchen with kitchen table and chairs, lovely modern bathroom and 2 very spacious rooms with a lovely balcony in one. We didn't find it too much of a downside but if you wanted to chill out in the evening and gather round there isn't a loving room to do this in which isn't really that much of a downside as when you're in Rome you are not there to watch TV in a living room! All in all I would highly recommend this apartment, in fact stop looking at others! This is the one for you!!

The first time you see St. Peter's Dome from the apartment your heart skips a beat. The apartment is five minutes walk from the Vatican and ten to Castel St. Angelo yet you are in a quiet area away from bustle of city. We enjoyed getting fresh cornettos at the pastry shop downstairs in the morning and having a coffee at the nearby bar with the locals. It is a bit of a walk to Metro line but between walking and cabs it was not an issue. Paolo was very helpful when needed. Overall, this apartment worked very well for my family.

Anyone who is reading this has read the other reviews - staying here was beyond lucky for us as a family of four. Two very comfortable bedrooms - air conditioning - a very nice little kitchen - a few blocks from a full service grocery store - great "neighborhood" restaurants 2 blocks away - and you are a 7 minute leisurely walk from Vatican City. Best of all (as if that wasn't enough) - you are 1/2 block a way from the bus station that takes you in/out of historical Rome every 10 minutes or so 17 hours a day.
And with all that I've shared - let's not forget Paolo. He took 2 calls from me every day - almost a tour guide. He could not have been any more attentive or giving - just terrific. Book this if you can - or stay @ his B&B; - you'll be thrilled with the experience! -

SingaporeWhen in Rome, live as the Romans do
Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Together with our son and his wife, my husband and I stayed in this lovely self-catering apartment for 9 days. It is situated in a quiet residential area no more than 10 minutes' walk to St Peter's Basilica. This place affords one the experience of living in Rome like the Romans do.
The apartment has two spacious bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The bathroom is newly renovated and of a rather decent size by European standards. I cannot complain about any of the amenities. Still the most charming touch of the apartment is the balcony that faces the dome of the basilica - a glorious sight at night when it's all lit up. The heating/AC system is centralized and functioned quite well. We had no issues with the temperature setting.
There are so many eateries within the area --- trattorias, bars, pizzerias, pastry shops, gelaterias and a popular restaurant frequented by cardinals. The nearest bus stop and train station are a little over 100 meters away. There is a supermarket and pharmacy within short distance. Paolo, the owner, is extremely service-oriented. He does not stay in the same building, but whenever we needed a fresh supply of towels or toiletries, he would replenish very quickly. We also appreciated that he was always unobtrusive and courteous.
We enjoyed the location very much. We had the luxury of soaking in the visit to the Vatican Museusm, St Peter's Basilica and the Scavi Tour as these were all a short walk away. It was very convenient for us to catch the hop-on-hop-off buses just opposite the basilica. The bus tours would end there too so the walk back home at the end of every tiring day was brief and pleasant.
On my next trip to Rome, I cannot see myself staying anywhere else than here. -

Left on 07/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Our apartment was exactly as advertised. Paolo met us right out front despite our flight delaying our arrival by several hours. When we stepped on to the balcony and saw St. Peter's Basilica, it was exactly as pictured on the website. The apartment was clean, practical and located in a great, quiet neighbourhood about one kilometre from the Vatican. We had a great meal at one of the local seafood restaurants and enjoyed the market around the corner. There is a bakery (pasticceria) right at the ground floor which was very handy for croissants each morning. The kitchen was great, it even had spices, coffee, olive oil etc. ready for our arrival. Local market close by was very handy.

Paolo was very helpful from the start, we were running late and our phone could not call Paolo to let him know. How nice to turn up at the apartment and he was waiting with a big smile. He sent a message everyday to see if everything was ok. I think this is very nice. The apartment was great, spacious clean and everything we needed. Location is fantastic and the view is lovely. Restaurants nearby offer a great range of food (who wants to cook on holidays) and a great little pastry place below the apartment and very cheap. Transport with the bus is easy. We will definately go back and stay if we are fortunate enough to return to Rome.

We had a wonderful time in Rome which was made even better by staying at Comfort Rome Vaticano2. The photos on the website are a great indication of what the apartment is like - just lovely! Very comfortable, clean and tidy with all amenities.
We enjoyed being independent but were also comforted knowing that Paulo was just a phone call away should we need him. Paulo was fantastic - friendly, professional and reliable.
If we could we would definitely return to Comfort Rome Vatican2. -

Left on 05/12/2011 for a stay in April 2011
As 2 couples visiting Rome for the first time, we wanted a comfortable home base and we got that at the Comfort Rome Vaticano2. It was a perfect choice for our week in Rome. We had a driver pick us up at the airport and we were provided with a USB stick so we could access the internet during our stay.
There were 2 good-sized bedrooms - one with a balcony. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was a washing machine at our disposal. Everything was as stated on the website and we had no unpleasant surprises. The only minor problem we had was with the shower as the hot water wasn't consistent.
This was a great location for us with a grocery store nearby as well as plenty of restaurants. We always felt safe and perfectly at home. Paolo was very personable and accommodating. I would highly recommend a stay at this apartment in Rome.
Thanks for everything Paolo. Hope you enjoyed those Swiss chocolates! -

My family, including two teens, and extended family rented the entire apartment for a wonderful week in Rome. It's in a great neighborhood, close to St. Peter's Square and the Basilica and the Vatican Museums, as well as within a reasonable walking distance of the Pantheon and other sights. The apartment itself is comfortable, clean, and cozy, and one of the bedrooms had a nice little balcony with a lovely view of the Basilica. Paolo is a terrific host, made sure we were well taken care of, and even made arrangements for a private driver to take us to Pompeii, who was equally a great host and nice man. We felt very safe and secure in this apartment and would definitely recommend renting the entire apartment for the most comfortable stay. (It's also a lot roomier than most of the hotel rooms!)

The Comfort Rome, Vaticano 2 is like a piece of heaven in this holy and historic city. We experienced Rome in such a wonderful way due to our host, Paolo. Paolo made sure we had everything we needed for our comfort and safety including a wonderful driver, Alex, who picked us up from the airport and delivered us to the apartment. Alex also was our driver out to Pompeii providing us with water, snacks and lively discussions. His English is very good and we learned a lot from him. Staying in Paolo's apartment made us feel like we were part of the neighborhood. He answered all our questions, provided maps, information on where to eat and of course the awesome views off the balcony of the Dome at St Peter's Square. Paolo checked in a few times to make sure we were doing well in Rome and gave us his phone number which was open for us to call 24/7. We will not forget our week stay at Comfort Rome and we will tell everyone coming to Rome to try and stay with Paolo. They will not be disappointed. We would pick Paolo's apartment over a hotel any day. Hope he does not get too busy as we will want stay here again when we return to Rome! Thanks for the experience of a lifetime. Paolo even provided great sunny weather and temps in the high 70's. :)

I booked this accom in Roma based on the feedback of others and wasn't disappointed. The apartment is exactly as per the photos, is in a great little neighbourhood with everything you'd need around it.
Paolo was a great host, meeting us at the apartment and even taking us for a walk down the block to show us what's around. He was smsing me every day to make sure everything was fine and couldn't have been better.
The two bedrooms are huge, and beautifully decorated.
The only two things with the property is no internet (but it's not sold with having it) and the shower was a problem getting the water hot which involved a fair few trips onto the balcony in the cold. I did notice this problem with other properties during our Italy tour however so I don't think it's a problem isolated to this property.
Overall the property is exactly as it's described by Paolo who is a fantastic host and if I was going back to Rome I'd be very disappointed if I couldn't stay in the same apartment again. -

We were in Rome two weeks ago and were lucky enough to stay at Paolo's apartment.
Paolo provides outstanding service before your arrival, during your stay, and after you left with a sincere thank you e-mail we got back at home.
The apartment itself is spotlessly clean, with excellent size. The kitchen was well equipped and we used a local supermarket to buy our goods and prepare great Italian dinners at nights (it was a shame that it was rainy and cold, otherwise we would have had one of the most romantic dinners ever at the terrace, which has as lovely views as the website suggests).
We were traveling with our two little ones (aged 3.5 and 9 months) and they also had a great time. Paolo provided with a cradle for the baby girl and our eldest son enjoyed the canap? bed so much!
We will sure recommend this apartment to our friends, and will come back for another break in the near future.
Thank you Paolo and Rome for this fantastic family trip.

Left on 01/21/2011 for a stay in December 2010
I was here with my husband and 2 children.
The apartment played a big part in making our trip to Rome a success. The following are its highlights:
Paolo was extremly helpful in booking our our airport transfer to the apartment . Someone was waiting for us. Knowing that our transfers were taken care was a huge relief. He was responsive via email before our trip and ready to answer any questions, which made planning the trip a lot easier.
2. Location: The apartment is in a nice residential neighborhood. The market is just a 2-minute walk away, and there are several good restaurants around. Shopping was great, with several cute little boutiques. We were not inundated with shops catered for tourists, but were eating and shopping at places where the locals patronized, which we enjoyed so much more. The Vatican is a short walk away, and, if you enjoy walking, most of the sights are walkable. at the Trevi fountain for dinner, before strolling back home. Likewise, we also walked from the Colosseum back to the apartment, stopping by the Jewish ghetto for dinner.
3. Apartment: Simply and tastefully furnished. We felt like a Roman family staying there. It provided plenty of space for our daughters to play, and was well-equipped with the necessary appliances. Great Balcony with a view of the Basilica.
Summary: I doubt anyone would regret making this choice. We enjoyed our time there and would return .
Thank you, Paulo for making our Christmas Dream of being at the Vatican a reality..

This is a very pleasant and comfortable flat within 3 minutes' walk of the vatican.
Paolo was extremely helpful. He arranged our transfers to and from the airport and was there at check in and departure. He also texted us to check that everything was up to standard and to see if we needed more towels etc.
The flat is nicely furnished, with two generous double bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom.
Bedrooms are air-conditioned and the central heating was adequate for our December stay.
There is a small TV in each bedroom. Italian language channels only. And no DVD/Bluray player.
Overall, a good flat with very helpful owner. We would certainly recommend it.Response from Paolo - 02/17/2011

A group of 4 of us were visiting Rome in September. Two of the group were visiting from australia and it was their first time to Rome. They wanted to see the Vatican city and experience as much of Rome for the 3 days we were there. The Comfort Rome Vaticano 2 ticked all our boxes in terms of accommodation. Our main requirements were location, price, cleanliness and comfort. Paulo was very helpfull and assisted us when we got a bit lost in our taxi. We loved spending the late afternoons sitting on the balcony overlooking St Peter's sipping rose... Perfect!

From first contact by email to our departure, Paolo was the ultimate host, very friendly and efficient. The apartment looked exactly like the pictures on the internet. The 2 bedrooms were large and comfortable and kitchen facilities excellent. The best part of the apartment was the balcony. The view was beautiful and we spent many hours relaxing there. There are many restaurants, pizzerias, gelaterias within walking distance. The subway station is around the corner and a grocery store close by. We had a fabulous time. Staying in the apartment was much more comfortable and more economical than a hotel. We would definitely return.

Left on 10/11/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Great , no nasty surprises for once. No mismatch between the website's description (and what fellow reviewers on tripadvisor.com had said about it) and the reality facing us when we arrived on 28 Sept 2010 for our 5 night stay. The ever-helpful Paolo's offer beforehand of a taxi in for us from Fiumicino late evening was well worth €45, no more than the municipally-sanctioned taxi price and without the haggling and hanging about. No problem contacting Paolo by mobile/cell phone and then meeting him at the flat in the via della stazione San Pietro - not to be confused with his bed-and-breakfast place which is further out from the Vatican.).
Not only is the flat really just 5 minutes' walk from the Vatican but also, as the address suggests, a similar distance from the San Pietro (St Peter's) railway station in the opposite direction. Inside you can buy your bus/train tickets; outside you can pick up the 64 bus, which will take you across the Tevere (River Tiber) into the heart of city. The 3-day integrated transport ticket for just €11 per person proved a bargain for us. Just up the nearby via delle Fornaci we found the Carrefour supermarket amply stocked for our needs.
The climate at this time of year (24-25 deg C, with cool nights) is ideal for sight-seeing. You still run into crowds in the popular places like the Trevi Fountain. Advanced booking on-line for the Vatican Museums (including the Sistine Chapel) is still advisable; 3pm entry meant fewer people because most tour parties are gone by then. Earlier the queue for St Peter's Basilica was impossibly long. We had better luck with St Maria Maggiore over in the city; as all the guide-books claim it is truly unmissable. Our biggest mistake was to turn up at the Borghese Gallery without booking by telephone the previous day. It didn't seem that busy in mid-afternoon and yet they wouldn't bend the rules but did offer us a slot for the next evening. Not a wasted trip since the bus journey through a labyrinth of little back streets to Porta Pinciana was incredible and the grounds of the Villa Borghese alone justify a visit.
While we were spoilt for choice with museums, the converse was true of restaurants. Our quest for the much-vaunted Taverna dei Fori Imperiali was much more exciting than the food we were served: microwaved mediocre cannelloni swimming in tinned tomato puree camouflaged with parmesan. Elsewhere in more up-market venues we managed a couple of decent risottos, nothing memorable.
There is this myth about cities perpetuated by guide books and travel journalists: the atmospheric little place to eat that is tucked away in a secluded corner, frequented almost exclusively by locals, and serves the most delectable homemade dishes. Well, when you finally track it down in Rome it is almost full of foreign visitors like yourselves and-yes, there are also some Italians there-but they are tourists too who've fallen for the same fairy story. So you all sit there, quite friendly and chatty, especially the nice american couples we meet (who enliven sombre Brits like ourselves!), obviously excited as we all should be by this beautiful city, but eating bad food... Does that really matter? Of course not. It's Rome itself that eternally enthralls, and we'd recommend wholeheartedly this flat of Paolo's for maximizing that experience.
We preferred the city's vast Roman remains to its later baroque heritage as encountered in places like the Piazza Navona as well as the Vatican Museums.Response from Paolo - 10/30/2010

From the time Paolo helped us get our deposit paid via the internet, to his meeting us at the apartment after our arrival via public bus from the train station, he made our stay special. The location was excellent and the convenience to public transportation was a real benefit. We spent seven nights and filled each day with tours of the sites of Rome. A rapid response to a circuit breaker problem, guidance on the use of the washer, and just great attention to our needs while staying in Paolo's lovely apartment made this stay in Rome very special. We will certainly try to stay with Paolo the next time in Rome and will share his business card with anyone we know is traveling is way. Thanks so much for your special attention to our needs.

bags up the tiny elevator and show us around the apartment. He was very
friendly and accommodating with our requests (such as asking for a plug-in

area) was quite spacious and fully furnished. I loved the quaint touches such as
the four-post bed and deep red curtains that gave the rooms an indulgent yet
cozy feel. The kitchen was complete with appliances, plus basic necessities
such as dishwashing bars, olive oil, condiments and more. The best part, of
course, was the view of St. Peter's Basilica from our balcony. I would definitely

This 2 bedroom apartment is in a very central location near to the Vatican and other sites. It is also extremely close to the bus station. The apartment is exactly as it is described on the website and is very clean and has been furnished and equipped to the highest standards. There is nothing lacking for the visitor: great cooking facilities, exceptionally clean and the terrace was perfect in the evenings for a glass of wine. The owner was extremely helpful from the start of the booking process, providing very detailed information about the flat as well as local restaurants and supermarkets. Nothing is left out !
There are numerous reasonably priced restaurants within easy walking distance as well as a very good supermarket with a good deli counter, as well as a divine (and cheap) patisserie down the building.

It has great access to the bus and metro service, but it's also an easy walk to the Vatican and city center (San Pietro is about a 3 minute walk and Fontana di Trevi 15 minutes). Being on the sixth floor (there's a lift) meant that the apartment was quiet, panoramic, and has lots of good light. The rooms are spacious (including the bath and kitchen).
