Houston, TexasA great and delightful stay at Pompeo
Left on 02/02/2013 for a stay in June 2012
We truly enjoyed our stay at Pompeo.
We were greeted by the hostess upon arrival and she showed us the apt and also walked the neighborhood with us, pointed out nearby grocery store, bakery, bus stop,...etc.
The apartment was clean, spotless, very secure and safe.
We explored the neighborhood right away, the short cut to Campo de' Fiori was only about 5 minutes, full of restaurants and have farmer's market from morning till early afternoon. Piazza Navaona was about 12 minutes walk, full of artist type of vendors selling their art drawings, full of restaurants, street performers, a delightful place.
Pompeo was very centrally located, we walked to Patheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Colosseum. Due to time restraint, we took taxi to Villa Borghese and Vatican City. There was a Taxi stop right in front of Piazza Navaona entrance, very convenient.
My son's girlfriend is a vegan/gluten free, We were able to shop daily for fresh vegetables, fruit at Campo de' Fiori and the nearby supermarket, used the kitchen to cook lovely simple meals for quick breakfast and a few dinners.
The aC worked beautifully. The bedroom was very comfortable with a queen size bed. My son and his girlfriend had the foldout bed/living room. There was a curtain for them to pull around for privacy. We were able to found extra down comforters to add extra padding for the "fold out" mattress.
We would rent from Italy Perfect again on our future trip.
They are professional, honest, and extremely helpful. We used a transportation service they recommended from the airport to the apt, the driver was there on time, waiting for us and called ahead to the hostess of our arrival time. The hostess also emailed us, introduced herself and coordinated with us about our stay.

Entering the front door from the street for the first time, I was really put off by the prospect of carrying my luggage up the 40 steps to the apartment. Also, although the common hallway/stairwell is clean and well lit; it is very, very dingy. I dreaded entering the apartment.
However: the apartment itself more than makes up for these handicaps in the way it has been refurbished 'Modern' and in its L-shaped layout. The master bedroom and private bathroom are in the short part of the 'L' with a windowed door looking out to the private enclosed terrace. The second(large)bathroom is at the juncture of the 'L', and the large kitchen and adequate den (with pullout) are in the long part of the 'L'. These also look out to the terrace whose large windows provide illumination inside. There is a handy entranceway where you can hang your coat, umbrella etc before entering the unit.
The place is spotless and there is not one utility or utensil that is missing. (A grocery store is 5 minutes away.) WiFi is fast and stable and you hear no street noise. The location is excellent: a very short walk (2 minutes) to the Campo di Fiori, which seems to have become a popular rival to the Piazza Navona (also a short walk of 7-10 minutes)for evening dining and people-watching.
We are no strangers to Rome and walk everywhere: (I am 68 and my wife is 62) e.g. The Roman Forum/Trajan's column area is a 17 minute walk. Trevi fountain or Trastevere-are 12-15 minutes (different directions). The Vatican is a 20-25 minute walk. The wonderful thing about your route to anywhere is how engaged you become looking at sites along the way. You don't feel it is a chore to walk anywhere.
I would have no qualms recommending Italy Perfect to anyone. They were professional and prompt in their replies.

So glad you enjoyed the apartment and the location. Sorry about the steps that you did know about in advance. The building is about 500 years old and that is the old style of construction.

Lakewood, OhioA Great Place to Stay!
Left on 10/17/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This very clean, cute apartment is in a perfect location in Rome, close to a lot of interesting, lively sites and activities. Markets, restaurants, ancient ruins, tourist attractions, shopping-all within walking distance from the front door.
The bed was quite comfortable and a real queen size, not a double. The 2 bathrooms were spacious. All the appliances worked well and seemed to be new. The little patio was a nice place to relax. It was a very quite location, no street noise. Neighbours were also quiet.
Italy Perfect is a welcoming, professional company with which to work!Response from Italy Perfect - 10/17/2012

Charming Flat Jul 2012
My 14 year old son and I stayed at the Pompeo for 5 nights in mid-July and loved it. The location was absolutely perfect -- a stone's throw from Campo Dei Fiori but in a very private square. Pantheon and Piazza Navona only minutes away. All rooms faced a lovely terrace that was courtyard facing so the flat was incredibly quiet, which is a precious commodity in noisy Rome. The flat was small but perfect for our needs. The full-sized kitchen was a welcome feature -- we had breakfast in each day and could sit at the table and plan our itinerary. I would definitely stay in the Pompeo again.Response from Italy Perfect - 08/03/2012

A Roman Delight Jun 2012
Everything about Pompeo was perfect. We loved living in an old building that was convenient to almost everything we did during our two-week stay. The apartment itself was more than ample for two people, and we especially appreciated the smart contemporary design of the kitchen and two bathrooms. Because there were four glass doors opening onto the terrace - with its jasmine-covered trellis - the apartment was always light and pleasant. Our greeter was very welcoming and not only left us wine, juice and chocolate for our first day but also gave us plenty of useful information, including a shortcut to the Campo de Fiori, which was not very faraway to begin with. In addition to the extensive list of excellent restaurants provided by Italy Perfect we also enjoyed the Grilled Fish restaurant only a few steps away from the apartment. We particularly liked the nearby leather shop Ibiz, where we purchased several gifts. We would definitely recommend Italy Perfect to any friends considering a trip to Italy.

Boston, maGreat Stay in Rome
Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in April 2012
In april, 2012, we began our month-long trip in Italy with a 10 day stay in Rome. We rented the Pompeo apartment through Italy Perfect. There was 3 of us, me, my wife and our 30 year old son. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Pompeo.
The logistics of renting, getting into and leaving the apartment were excellent. The rental was handled through e-mail - Lisa was super responsive. We weren't supposed to get into the apartment until 4:00 but it wasn't rented the day before we arrived so the greeter arranged to let us in as soon as we arrived in Rome - around 11:00am. Italy Perfect recommended a driver, Stefano, and he was super. He was waiting for us with a sign when we arrived and called the greeter to say we were on the way. He also picked us up at the apartment on the day we checked out and dropped us off at the train station before taking our son to FCO to fly home. When we returned to Rome, he took us from our hotel to FCO. Very professional.
Pompeo's location is perfect. It is located on a small square near the Campo de Fiori. We walked to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona almost everyday or evening - they were about 5 minutes away. The greeter told us where the nearest market was and there was an Internet site just around the corner. The apartment has great wifi but we used the internet site once to print documents. We walked everywhere - the Vatican, the Colosseum and even the Borghese Gardens. If you like to walk, you'll never need a cab or subway - we didn't. Our son is a runner and ran the Circus Maximus and around the Colosseum most mornings. We never felt unsafe.
The apartment itself was great. It is on an upper floor and it takes a little effort to climb them. Our greeter arranged to have our luggage taken to the apartment but I carried it down when we left. I suppose the driver would do it if asked. The kitchen is very clean and fully equipped. The bathrooms are also very clean, modern and large for Italy. The living room which serves as the 2nd bedroom is small. I'm glad our son was sleeping there - the sofa/bed didn't look too comfortable. Our son was never able to find an english speaking channel, usually BBC in Italy. The courtyard feels very closed in, almost like an alley. But, it was great for drying clothes and without it the apartment would be dark. It is in Italy so you can expect to hear the people above the apartment and people in the courtyard of an adjacent hotel at times. Heat worked well when we used it.
We had an apartment in Florence for 2 weeks which was much less expensive. It had a much better terrace overlooking the city but it wasn't nearly as clean or modern. We also had to deal the owner and we were never quite sure what would happen if we arrived and they claimed we didn't have the apartment. That didn't happen and everything was fine. With Italy Perfect, I don't think you have that concern.
We had a great stay and Pompeo worked out well. If you visit Italy, consider visiting the Cinque Terre. We spent 4 days there and they were a great break from museums and ruins. -

My husband and I were warmly greeted by Danielle, a lovely lady. She went out of her way to accommodate us on our early arrival. Danielle also took us on a mini tour of the area to show us how to get to the grocery store and market. The location was wonderful, we were within walking distance of everything. The apartment was exactly as described, the terrace was a lovely way to start our day as well as a nice glass of wine at the end of the day. Our daugther lives in Trastevere, which was just a tram ride away. The tram was two blocks from the apartment. We did not have any difficulties with the hot water nor the heat/ac. Danielle phoned mid-week to make sure everything was to our liking or if we needed assistance. Everything that we needed or wanted was truly, just around the corner. My husband and I would definately stay in this apartment again and have already recommended it to other parents visiting their children while studying abroad. Also, Lisa and Pam were very helpful with tour information as well as transportation to the apartment. We used Stefan who was there waiting for us and early to pick us up to take us back to the apartment. Anytime I had a question, I emailed them and they responded within hours. Thank you for helping to make our first visit to Europe everything we wanted and more.

The Pompeo apartment was in a great location very close to Piazza Navona. There was a bakery and grocery near too. Our greeter Daniela was terrific and explained everything very well. We had a minor issue with the hot water and she came right away and fixed it for us. The apartment was very clean and we liked having two bathrooms (great with kids). The neighborhood felt very safe and we would highly recommend this wonderful apartment. Please note that there is no elevator - so this would not be good for someone that can't go up stairs. It was no problem for us. Ciao!

Overall the accomodations were much better than expected. Daniella was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional.
The location and surrounding area was surprisingly quiet for Rome. Because of it's relatively central location, Pompeo was well situated for all our sight-seeing.
Just enjoy yourself as we did and remember you're in Italy so relax and go with it

We spent the first part of an anniversary trip at the Pompeo and were very impressed with how clean, new and bright it was. The layout is quite thoughtful and would work well for a family or even 2 couples as the living room has a sofa bed and can be closed off with doors to the kitchen and a curtain to the hallway. The multiple seating areas in the kitchen and on the terrace along with the 2 bathrooms would save it from feeling small with 4 people. However, for 2 people all that space and 2 bathrooms with a terrace was total luxury! We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning on the terrace, which is interior to the building. It has no views but it brings in sunlight and can be made more private by extending an electronic awning so that neighbors above don't look down on you directly. It was also very quiet - we heard only the birds and the church bells. The kitchen was excellently equipped - though you'll want to bring/buy a sharp knife if you plan to cook much or just ask Daniella (greeter) who may be able to provide one (we never asked since it wasn't an issue until much later in our stay). Daniella was a great resource - she greeted us with wine and Cantucci, gave us a walking tour of the neighborhood, recommended wonderful restaurants (be sure to try antico Forno Roscioli for amazing baked goods and The Moderne for a nice night out) and was so helpful answering all our questions. The wi-fi worked wonderfully and the location near Campo di Fiore for the daily food market is great for preparing meals and seeing a different slice of Rome. The location is also perfectly central. We would recommend this apartment to anyone except folks with mobility issues since there is no elevator.
