Additional Location Information
Most Roman people consider this quarter the place where they would like to live since it is a quiet and prestigious area in the center of Rome.
Despite of the chaotic Roman traffic, it is a real hidden isle of peace, the ideal place to welcome you after a day spent wandering around the city or in and out of the shops. The atmosphere of a quiet village in the heart of a metropolis will catch you although, just round the corner, everything you could possibly need is within walking distance: supermarkets, excellent restaurants and nice pizzerias, wine bars, markets and shopping centers, cafés, banks with ATM, pharmacies, kiosks, laundries, hospital, churches ....
Since the position and the prestige of the area, a significant part of Embassies and Consulates (also the English one, the American, the German, the New Zealander, the Australian, the Canadian, the Swiss, the Swedish, the Russian, and many others) are located in the surroundings.
Moreover, you find in the area most villas and parks that makes Rome so enchanting as well as the below important historical and art sites.
VILLA BORGHESE is the most beautiful and famous public park in Rome. It features a lake, temples, fountains, statues and several museums. The MUSEO AND GALLERIA BORGHESE, housed in the wonderful Villa Borghese, the building after which the park is named, contains an unmissable collection of sculptures with masterpieces of Canova and Bernini. The Galleria Borghese also houses a collection of pictures from several masters including Titian, Rubens and Raphael.
VILLA TORLONIA was the state residence of Mussolini since 1920s. The beautiful neoclassical villa is surrounded by the most renowed "English landscape" garden in Italy, characterized by 13 constructions simulating mysterious, fantastic, fairy-like creations. The most amazing of them is the Little House of Owles. The villa houses the VILLA TORLONIA MUSEUM.
VILLA ADA, one of the Rome's largest public park, is named after the wife of King Vittorio Emanuele II. Villa Ada was the former residence and hunting reserve of the Italian royal family. Among elms, oaks, meadows and pine trees it offers an itinerary of beautiful landscapes and constitutes an important historical legacy.
Nearby there is also the splendid monumental COMPLEX of S. AGNES BASILICA and SANTA COSTANZA MAUSOLEUM erected by Constance, Emperor Constantine's daughter, in the place where the remains of St. Agnes were found. The complex includes the CATACOMBS too. It is an example unique of early Christian complex of buildings.
The superb Mausoleum of Santa Costanza, that contained the sarcophagus of porphyry where S. Costanza was buried, exposed today in the Vatican museums, retains a charm and an overtime impressive which makes it one of the favourite sites for religious marriages in Rome.
The CATACOMB OF PRISCILLA was known as the "Queen of the Catacombs" in antiquity on account of the fact that seven early popes and many martyrs were buried in the cemetery
The development of the catacomb dates from the second through the fifth centuries A.D.
It is well worth too a visit to the extraordinary QUARTIERE COPPEDE', a rather unknown attraction of Rome, just a few steps away. It is a group of Art-Nouveau palaces commissioned to architect Gino Coppede early 1900s.
These palaces are renowned for their architecture featuring floral, mythological and medieval effects, a very fanciful style mixing Liberty and Gothic characters so that the Coppede quarter feels like a setting straight out of a fantasy world.
Most famous are the Palazzo del Ragno (Spider's Palace), the Fontana delle Rane (Fountain of the Frogs) in piazza Mincio and the Villino delle Fate (The Villa of the Fairies).

Marco and Lydia are great hosts. They apartment is wonderful, very quiet and private.
Marco and Lydia provide a wealth of information about Rome, things to do, how to get around, public transport etc. They are proud of there city and are great sources of information and assistance. Public transport is close. So are several fine restaurants. Marco recommend a few and his advice was spot on.
The spiral staircase is narrow and steep. My girlfriend disliked them but I thought they added to the charm. A great addition to your holiday adventure to tell your friends.
All in all a great apartment in a good location. Worth considering. I'd stay there again -

This is delightful place to stay in Rome.
Spacious, clean, modern and so peaceful, just like a Boutique Hotel.
This is that kind of places that transform a trip to a Magical Great Experience. This is for sure one of the best places I've ever stayed in. Marco & Lidia have a beautiful place to stay and to discover Rome. It's in a very central location, the room is so beautifully presented, and most-importantly for us, the terrace view is outstanding. Thanks for a great stay! -

Left on 01/16/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We went in Jan during the holidays and expected that it would be busy and it was but thanks to Marco and Lidia and the wonderful apartment that was made available we had an absolutely wonderful time. They had maps for walking, touring, transportation and about anything else you needed. They also had a phone in the apartment which you could call them direct if you had questions or needed reservations. The location was great, quiet, and very roomy. Marco and Lidia made the trip extra special. They had a bottle of wine in the room with milk, juice, and other goodies to ensure our trip was comfortable. They also made reservations before we even arrived to attend highly desirable museums and restaurants. They even drove us one day downtown to visit one of the sites. The apartment was extremely roomy, clean, and modern, and had a private terrace that overlooked a lovely park. It was located on the fourth floor but had an elevator to assist. From there the views were great. There was two bus stops located around the corner that took you to the top tourists locations within minutes. There are about four or five nice restaurants that are not too busy that are within blocks of the apartment. This is important on some nights when you do not want to deal with the crowds. To top it off the price to stay there was especially reasonable given the location and quality of the apartment. What we enjoyed was the walk to the city park which was beautiful, near the apartment. Finally, Marco and Lidia made our trip there very special and took care of us and our every need. We appreciate it and will return and stay there.

Left on 11/09/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Our amazing first stay in Rome
Left on 10/17/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My boyfriend and I have always wanted to visit Italy. I started planning our first real vacation together in January 2012. After looking at dozens of hotels and apartments I stumbled across this cozy little apartment in Rome. For our ten days in Rome the price of the apartment was terrific and the view was wonderful. Even though I started planning very far in advance Marco and Lidia were a great help to me every step of the way. Upon arriving in Rome and meeting Marco and Lidia they gave us even more assistance. They recommended sites to see and good places to eat. They were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I am also very excited to say that during our stay my boyfriend proposed to me. My fiancé :D and I are quite thrilled with our stay in Marco and Lidias apartment as well as the rest of out time in Rome. We would most definitely recommend staying here to anyone!

Left on 10/14/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Lidia and Marco are the most kind and thoughtful hosts we have ever had the pleasure to meet in our travels. Their attention to detail in respect to fitting out the apartment with all the necessities (and many wonderful additional surprises including Lidias' homemade tiramisu), providing detailed information on places to visit, reccommended restaurants to suit all budgets, the most convienient supermarkets etc was extremely helpful and made planning our day so much simpler and less stressful. The apartment is charming; "compact & bijou" with the most spectacular view from the terrace, where we spent many evening sipping wonderful Italian wine and watching the sun go down. Our Romantic Roman Experience as "truly perfect"

This studio apartment is a gem. It was just the right size for the two of us with a sitting room and compact kitchen on the lower floor and a cozy bedroom above. The outside terrace has a wonderful view.
Marco and Lidia did everything possible to welcome us and accomodate our requests. Nothing was too much trouble for them - they have thought of everything! The apartment was spotless and recently renovated. The neighborhood is beautiful with convenient access to the center of Rome. We are already planning our next visit!

Left on 09/04/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This apartment was a great find. It was very bright and clean, with lots of amenities, only 10 minutes by bus to the historic centre of town and had a great view from the private terrace. It was a short walk to grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants and the bus stop. It was also a fantastic value for the money. The owners, Marco and Lidia, spared no effort at making us feel welcome and made sure the property had all the little items we needed to feel at home. They made sure the fridge was stocked, gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and homemade tiramisu on arrival, and a bottle of homemade limoncello at the end of our stay. They also had lots of suggestions for things to see and do, both in the city and the neighbourhood. The air conditioning worked very well and was appreciated during Rome's unusually warm august this year. When we had a problem with the wifi, Marco was kind enough to loan us and old laptop he had. There is an elevator to the third floor, and a flight of stairs from there to the apartment and terrace. I hope that I get the chance to stay here again.

We are travelling very often to Italy and it was the first time we decided with my wife to stay one week in Roma before going in the abruzze, so we're pleased to stay in the beautifull apartment of Marco & Lidia. What a great time it was ! from the arrival to our departure, we lived very easily even when temperature outside was rising high, the airconditoner was working very well, and the terrace was absolutely the place to be, so quiet and with a nice view. Great details to give a warm feeling of being welcome (spumante bootle and a delicious tiramisu offered)
very precious informations about the city, and a great sense of humour from Lidia and Marco- thanks again for this wonderfull week we spend with you
looking forward the next time we come in Roma to meet you again -

Sydney, AustraliaAn amazing stay!
Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My husband and I can not recommend this place highly enough! The apartment was lovely and was only outdone by the service received. Marco and Lidia made what would have been an amazing stay even better by their hospitality. They couldn't do enough for us, from stocking up the fridge with some basics for when we arrived (which included some home made Tiramisu thank you very much!!) through to being more than happy to help with any bookings and recommendation for things to do.
The only thing to note is that the lift ends just shy of the apartment and that you have to go up a very narrow winding staircase for the last little bit, but realistically for the amazing apartment and the great service it is the smallest price to pay. And Marco was more than happy to help get our bags up the staircase. The only reason I mention it is if someone has trouble walking at all it could be a bit difficult.
Again, I can't rate this apartment highly enough! Definitely worth the stay!! -

Left on 08/05/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I have never given a review before so here goes. I loved this apartment. It was just myself and it was the perfect size and location. Buses are about 2 blocks away and the metro is a 15 minute walk. Super quiet location. Great good in the area and very close to good stores. Marco & Lidia are amazing! If I was ever to have an apartment to rent I would follow their example. Amazingly helpful, Marco even drive me to the Vatican one day and offered a ride on another day as well. They were always there to help. The maps and suggestions they provided with the welcome package were extremely helpful. If you are a single person or a light traveling couple I recommend this apartment to you. If there is a better place and owners I would be amazed to find it.

Frankly speaking, I'm even not sure if I should publically recommend this appartment as it makes my chances to find it avaliable next time lower. It's just a great place to live in Rome if you'd like to feel yourself as a local. The appartment is very clean, nicely decorated and you feel all the attention to details from the owners. Lidia and Marco are very warmly welcoming, they will provide you with all the information about Rome and this particular district you may need. You will even find a printouts with routes from the appartment to the objects worth seeing. We liked the disrtict and the appartment itself very much, defenitely will consider as an option #1 to stay in when next time in Rome.

Wollongong, NSW AustraliaWonderful first visit to Rome!
Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
On choosing a place to stay in Rome we were overwhelmed with all the choices we had in hotels and apartments, but after reading all the wonderful reviews about Lidia and Marco's Romantic terrace we were intrigued and took the plunge and booked hoping it would be all that it was made out to be. Well it was and more! From our first email to our final farewell we got the gold class treatment. Lidia always responded to emails promptly and offered suggestions of things to do before we got there to make our stay just what we wanted.
We were warmly greeted on arrival and overwhelmed at all the extra little touches such as pastries from Naples and a bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge as well as other little goodies and toiletries in the bathroom.
The accommodation itself was wonderful and had everything we needed and it felt like a home away from home with the added bonus of the terrace to escape to and unwind after walking the sites of Rome.
The location is outside the touristy parts of Rome but with Marco's wonderful bus information it was as easy as a short walk and bus trip to get anywhere and with the addition of our Rome Passes the transport system was a breeze. Being away from the central touristy sites another advantage was it was a lot quieter (something we appreciated during the European cup and the Italian football fans fervour).
Ultimately it is the little things that make a great holiday even better and Marco and Lidia have the art of thinking of all the little things down pat.
The bottle of Limoncello Lidia made for us to take back to australia will be consumed while reminiscing and reminding us about our wonderful first trip to Rome . Thank you Marco and Lidia for your hospitality and sharing your cosy romantic terrace apartment ! -

MilwaukeePerhaps the Best Vacation apartment in Rome for 2 People!
Left on 04/25/2012 for a stay in March 2012
This is our fifth year staying in Rome for two or more weeks, and Marco & Lidia's vacation apartment is by far the best we have seen. It is small but beautifully renovated, with plenty of light and quite a lot of storage. A washing machine, WiFi and cable TV are included. One nice feature is a large terrace that overlooks a park. The apartment is on the fourth floor. There is an elevator that goes to the third floor, but then one must negotiate narrow, winding stairs to reach the apartment. These stairs are the one negative for those who are not agile; the apartment has great views of the Roman rooftops, however. The location is perfect - a nice, higher-end residential neighborhood that is only a few blocks from Via Nomantana and Villa Torlonia. Many restaurants are in the neighborhood, ranging from basic to elegant. We especially liked I Buttieri (steaks),Joe Padella (simple Italian), Pepe Verde (Italian) and Eleonora di arborea (fish - expensive) all within a few blocks. The apartment is convenient to the Metropolitana stops at Piazza Bologna and Policlinico, both of which are on the line that leads (in 10 minutes or so) to the Historical Center. An express bus stop to Via Corso and Via Veneto is only a few blocks away, and the apartment is within easywalking distance to Villa Borghese. Lastly, Marco & Lidia are excellent hosts. Their English is wonderful, they meet you with friendly smiles when you arrive, and they live right downstairs in the same building and respond immediately to any questions or problems. Lidia has prepared detailed maps and guidebooks for particular trips from the apartment to various sights around Rome, which is extremely helpful if this is your first visit. Overall, an excellent place to stay for a couple on their first (or when we return, our sixth!) visit to Rome!
