I spent 1 night in this appartment and two more nights in the appartement next door. I may warmly recommand both of them. The first appartment I appreciated for its fine design and great place. The second one has an incredibly luxuous bathroom, with a blessed Jacuzzi, highly relaxing after an full day of visits in Rome !
Both of them are irreproachably clean and fulfilled with delicate attention.
David is a great host, he answered all my questions, he is reliable (some appointments due to my change of address !).His advices allowed me to optimize my 3-days trip !A great experience.
J'ai passé 1 nuit dans cet appartement et 2 nuits supplémentaire dans l'appartement d'à côté, également managé par David. Je peux donc chaudement recommander les deux.. Le premier est grand et décoré avec goût., le second appartement pour son fastueux Jacuzzi dans une luxueuse salle de bains décorée à l'antique : un délice après une journée entière passée à crapahuter dans Rome!Les 2 sont d'une propreté rigoureuse. David est l'hôte parfait, prenant le temps de l'accueil, attentif à toutes les questions, joignable à chaque moment, fiable et ponctuel (mes changements d'adresse ayant amené à convenir de plusieurs rendez-vous). Grâce à lui, j'ai pu optimiser mon week-end de 3 jours ! -

David was really nice & extremely informative. The apartment itself is beautiful inside, clearly a lot of thought when into the decor. Also it was very clean & had all the amenities one would need on holiday and more. The tram is only down the road & leaves you pretty much central in 15 mins. My only negative would be I personally found it a little further out than I'd anticipated, in saying that I do just like being very central in terms of access & handiness but otherwise the place is ideal & excellent value considering the quality & standard of the accommodation.

The apartment is conveniently located 15 minutes tram ride to historic center (as you pointed out in your review ) which exactly reflects what's advertised. The apartment position can be easly found on the tripadvisor map too. Many tourists like to be so close to center while being away from the touristic horde as my apartment is and consider it a very positive point. Hope you also enjoyed sleeping in a memory foam materass and appreciated the fact I don't ask for a security deposit :-)

Very nice appartement with all necessary for passing a good trip in Roma. Our host David is very kind and give us a lot of advises for transportation. He waiting for us late the first night, thanks David! The appartement is very close to center. You need to take the tramway for visiting, but the stop is just at 200 meters from the home and take less than 20 minutes for going to argentina Station.

The apartment was really super nice. We immediately felt at home.It is nice and clean just as shown in the pictures.
We toured almost everywhere and our stay was excellent! We already recommended this apartment to our parents and friends. It's about 15 minutes away from the center in a quiet and authentic residential area.

We absolutely loved this charming apartment. David is a great host and the check in was smooth and easy.
We were looking for a non tourist area as we did want to experience the Real Rome. David's apartment was so perfect as we were 15 minutes away from the touristic area but we have enjoyed experiencing Rome as locals do.
The apartment is comfortabl, wifi works perfectly, the materass is in memory foam so we really slept well.
If you are looking to experience Rome this is the place for you. The restaurant aroun the corner is cheap and food is good. The pizza place is also good and they make fresh bread too.

I gave to my parents for their wedding anniversary, a trip to Rome, and have stayed in this Lovely Graden Flat, on their return I was told that to describe this apartment took just two words:-Great Hotel-. The apartment is well served, tram 8 stop 100 mt away and a 10-15 minute ride to trastevere or pantheon. Soon my sister and I will visit Rome, and surely we will stay in this apartment. A very important thing to mention: my parents reported that David is great Host, very nice friendly and helpful.

Some positives and many negatives in this property.
My wife and I recently spent 8 night in this rental.
There were few positives and too many negatives. (Can't believe the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor). For the first time in a long time this web site let us down.
The positives:
Nice owner
kitchen had spices etc., so cooking was easy
the internet worked well
The negatives:
Probable 10 or 12 idiosyncrasies in this place, the ones I remember off hand (in no particular order):
the shower did not drain
the toilet ran
to use the microwave you had to unplug the fridge
there were holes in two walls - one to the outside which was closed only by stuffing it with newspaper - no kidding!
the electricity seemed iffy - there was a plug near the entrance that hummed quite loudly- this seems a safety issue
the key was difficult to use to open the door - I never did get this down ( hate to think how you would get out in case of fire)
The place was just tired and somewhat run down.
WORST OF ALL WAS THE NEIGHBORHOOD. Two issues:
1. The only access to the place was a back street. It seem every dog walker within a mile walked their dog down this street (and pooper-scoopers are apparently unheard of in Italy). It took great concentration to keep from stepping in doggie feces in the block around the only entrance to the apartment. You literally could have stepped from one pile of poop to another without ever stepping in a clean space for at least one block in both directions from your door.
2. There were no decent restaurants within walking distance from the apartment. There was a corner pizza slice place which served poor pizza and one small restaurant which was a little better. That was it.
There were many vibrant neighborhoods we traversed while in Rome for over a week. Unfortunately, this was not one of them.Response from David P - 04/02/2013

Unfortunately Tripadvisor doesn't allow to rate guests, but here it is.
It's so sad but I have to admit they were the worst guests I EVER had from tripadvisor in 5 years of rental. It 's been the first time I felt uncomfortable renting to, since the moment I saw them. The husband is an arrogant individual :
made huge problems at the moment of paying as they did not want to respect the payment method agreed 5 months in advance.
TO ALL HOSTS: DON'T ACCEPT THEIR BOOKINGS!
Regarding their comments despite everyone has the right to say what they believe, I need to point out :
1) The area is a residential area with a restaurant all guests reported to be very happy regarding quality and price. There are other two restaurants near the tram stop which are a bit more expensive.. maybe they did not have the chance to eat there.
2)The shower drains slow but it drains. It should have been buit at a higher level but it was not feasible. They were informed at check in. No guest has ever complained about it as you can see from past reviews
3)Toilet works Perfectly
4) No one ever reported to be big deal to plug a microwave
5) The plug near the entrance is a timer for the outdoor lights to switch on and off
6) The key locker was found damaged and I had to change it. Now works perfecty.
7) Some individuals may not pick up their dog's droppings, but stating " ...stepping one pile of poop to another without ever stepping in a clean space for at least one block in both directions from your door ... " IT'S A TOTAL LIE AND FABRICATION.
8) Many shop/Restaurant/Pizza owners reported me about their unfriendly manners and snobby attitude which I had to apologise for.
9) Having a private access and a private outdoor space is considered a BIG PLUS by many tourists and Romans too .
I respect every point of view but this people are just negative and snobby ones . I am 100% sure people with this attitude can find unpleasat even Hilton Hotel suites.
I am happy they will not recommend it to their best friends as I don't want any of their friends in my place

We rented both apartments as we were 8 people and the apartments are door to door. For us those apartments turned out to be the best possible solution for our stay in Rome! Great location just 10 minutesaway by tram from the Tiber in modern and wonderful district near trastevere. The decoration is very nice and everything kept in order, cosy and clean. It is fully equipped in every room, has a lovely patio from wich you access both apartment, free wi-fi connection is fully equipped. And the best of all: you are cared by a very eager and hospitable owner willing to help you in any way. Among all the hotels and appartments i lived in travelling around the world this is indeed a good that one should be!

We spent 2 nights in this cute little apartment after having spent a week with a large tour group. While the hotels we stayed were very nice and exciting, this place was just what we needed to unwind. The neighborhood was quite and location was great. We had a wonderful dinner not far from the apartment and easy access to the tram/train allowed us to spend the days getting out of the city and seeing other sites.
The apartment was perfect for what we needed: clean, AC comfortable bed and easy to find. We met David at the apartment where he had maps and info to help us get around and she gave us the access code for the Wi-fi (another blessing) I would highly recommend this apartment-we felt like Romans not tourist! This is a wonderful bargain and we would certainly stay here again!

David is the greatest host! Il a vraiment été généreux de son temps à notre arrivée afin de nous expliquer le fonctionnement de son appartement qui est très beau et parfaitement bien équipé. Il nous a même fait une petite visite guidée du quartier, ce qui fût vraiment apprécié car nous n'avons perdu aucun temps à chercher les commerces et restaurants par la suite. Autre détail vraiment pratique, il nous a remis les meilleurs trajets pour se rendre aux différents sites touristiques. David est un hôte qui a vraiment à cœur le bien-être de ses visiteurs et notre séjour chez lui a été fort apprécié!

What my husband and I loved about this place was the combination of easy transit to Rome's many sights, while also coming "home" to a real neighborhood after a long day of sightseeing. The apartment was spotless, nicely appointed, and had the special advantage of a friendly and very helpful owner, David. This was our first trip to Italy, and the first four nights after a long flight from San Francisco. So, we were very gratified for his complete and easy-to-follow directions to the apartment, and his warm welcome. He made us feel right at home, giving us a tour of not only the apartment, but the surrounding area as well. In addition, David provides detailed transit directions to all the key sights.

This was a lovely place to stay and was like a home away from home as it was well stocked with everything you need. David's directions to reach the place are so detailed and if you follow his instructions you will save lot of money as the apartment is reachable via public transport from Fiumicino airport. Public transport was close and provided easy access to Rome and there were a number of good restaurants and a supermarket nearby.

Me & my family ( 8 people) stayed at David'sapartments for 1 week in July. The apartments were spotless, comfortable & well equipped. We had 2 studio apartments next door each other with a large patio which gave us the chance to eat outdoor but have our oen privacy as well. David the owner was extremely attentive & gave us lots of great advice about Rome & also recommended a trip to lago di bracciano which was wonderful. He was always available to answer any questions. Very close to the historic centre , it is a lovely peaceful setting for the apartments, with a small park and shops around the corner and a short walk to the nearest bus/tram stop. Great value.

Four of us (includes 2 kids) stayed for a week and found apartment very convenient and in good condition overall and everything as expected. Apartment owner David was very helpful getting us in and showing around on the first day. We used the guides provided and these were very helpful.
Location near Trastevere is very friendly safe and authentic.
Apartment is very charming and large yet feels very cozy and authentic. If you are like me and dislike hotels look & feel, definitely this building and apartment is for you. We mostly ate out but we used the well-equipped cook's kitchen, washer once or twice and this kitchen is a great option to have, especially when traveling with kids. Other amenities are in good and usable condition, no issues.
The apartment is large, clean and surprisingly quiet at night. Windows aredouble glassed and new and face into the patio which we used a lot to eat and have breakfast (our kids to play), relatively large by us standards.
This is a great apartment and great location to be in Rome when traveling as a family of 3-4; unless you want to stay right in the most tourist-filled location (think staying right in Times Square in New York or Piccadilly Circus in London). At the same time it is in the center of Rome and close to everything.

We spent 2 weeks in this apartment. Lovely studio flat in quiet neighborhood. Location: Very close access to tram and train station. There is grocery store, pharmacy, ATM, late-night pizza, amazing fruit & veggie stand (1 euro/kilo!!), and numerous places to grab a bite. The beauty of this apartment is that its location is outside the insanity of the tourist scene in central Rome-you get to see how real people live. It was so nice to escape the crowd back to our quiet nest each night. Central Trastevere is very close, and its a wonderful scene of small shops, good restaurants. Central Rome (major tourist destinations), about 15 min away. Apartment: Spotless, modern studio flat. Very spacious, with fully equipped kitchen, squishy sofa, dining room table. We were able to make great dinners with local ingredients. Bed, etc were all good. Host: David was a great host, its a shame he doesn't have his own hotel because he provided a far better experience than many B&B; and hotels we have experienced. Pre-trip, he sent details re. directions to sites. He gave us a detailed tour of both the apartment and the neighborhood when we arrived, and was available by email to answer questions (How do we get downtown at 5am to get our bus to Pompeii? Where can I buy a metro card? ). Overall: 100% likely we would stay there again, and definitely recommend to friends.

Our experience at David's apartment is 100% positive. The apartment is bigger than showed by the pictures. the decoration is wonderful and so the attention to details.
we enjoyed several meals and breakfast on the patio. The neighborhood is funny and genuine with everything you need. The commute to historic center is very frequent and in a heartbeat you are in the overcrowded historic center with his wonders. David is an exceptional and natural host. He expalins you everything and his advices are so precious when you are staying 4 days and don't want to waste a second of your vacation.David Thanks a lot! Io e il mio compagno siamo stati in questo appartamento solo una notte, in attesa di poter passare nell'altro (Ravizza 1). Ci siamo trovati benissimo, l'appartamento e davvero ben arredato e funzionale, giusto un pelino sacrificato il bagno ma, nonostante le dimensioni ridotte dell'appartamento, gli altri ambienti sono ampi e ben vivibili.

David is a great host and it was a pleasure getting to know him and staying in the apartment. He spends the time to explain everything including a neighborhood tour that orients you the right way for a smooth stay. The place is a short walk from the tram line so it is easy to get in and out of the Rome city. Plus the proximity to the train station makes it an easy connect to fco airport - 35 mins away. Overall, great experience and highly recommended!

David was fantastic. He met us at the apartment and gave us clear instruction on the neighborhood, transportation, and sights in Rome. It is a little far out from the hustle and bustle of Rome, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The apartment is so close to a tram line that gets you all the way into the heart of Rome that you hardly notice the distance.

"David was a great host! I stayed there for two nights while I was visiting Rome, and he was very easy to reach and meet up with if needed. The apartment was very clean and had everything that you would need (including a great movie collection- not that you would want to stay in much in Rome :)). I would definitely recommend this apartment if want to get to experience Rome, but then have a nice quiet place to come home to at night. "

David was the perfect host - I doubt anyone will find a better experience. David spent about an hour with us at check-in showing us all the apartment features and walking us around the neighborhood. The apartment was very good - A/C helped during the recent heat wave, and internet access was excellent. Neighborhood looks remote on map, but it's very convenient to the center and to Trastevere and Train Station. We tried this apartment because it was a new area for us. I would definitely stay there again.

David was an exceptional host. He gave us his phone number for issues, but we never needed it due to David showing us everything up front. He included directions and bus routes for all the best spots in Rome. The apartment was exactly as described and was easy to get around and had great access to the buses and trains for easy on and off sightseeing. David handles himself professionally and let us know about his schedule and the adjoining apartments renters, so we knew what to expect and when to expect them. The neighborhood was nice and had a grocery store, coffee/breakfast shop, bar and a few pizzerias in close proximity. David was nice enough to give us a quick walking tour of these places on arrival, which was very helpful and useful. This is a wonderful, economical, and peaceful alternative for independent travelers who shun high hotel prices. The apartment, large studio with dressing room and galley kitchen, is attractive and clean. It is well equipped if you want to cook, and the wifi. stereo, and dvds are a plus. We enjoyed the patio area which is sunny all morning and early afternoon. The neighborhood is safe and convenient for visiting all the sites in Rome. Davids directions to sites as well as the No 8 tram assure easy and foolproof arrivals. The neighborhood offers all the shops you need, as well as a great little pizzaria where we ate several meals. David can only be described as a wonderful host. He is sweet, helpful, and obviously enjoys his guests. We have family in Rome who often have visitors and they too were very excited about our Find.!"

His apartment is in a very quiet location and just 9 very fast tramstops from the centre of Rome (about 15 minutes). It is also spacious and neatly divided into living and bedroom space in a most comfortable way. Lovely dining/living area cleverly separated from sleeping space with good king size bed. David's directions to all the tourist sites are very good, they are all pretty close together. David met us and showed us everything about the apartment and where everything was - he was very thorough and very nice to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble, he was available to help when the fuse blew one night! He gave us invaluable advice about travelcards for the trains, trams and buses and saved us in transport costs. My wife and I spent one week in Rome and had a delightful time. The accommodation was excellent, just as it was described at the airbnb website. David was a great host and provided all the information that we needed to take full advantage of the sights in Rome. The flat is centrally located just 15 minutes from the heart of old Rome. The facilities were great and we were able to buy food and supplies in the immediate neighborhood. It was 'icing on the cake' and made our first experience of Rome that much richer. I would happily stay with David again in the future and have no hesitation recommending it to others looking for a true 'Rome experience' away from the madding crowds.

David was an amazing host to have rented the apartment from. The apartment is in a tradition Italian neighborhood with many little shops in the area from fruit markets, pizza shops, to bakeries. The tram into the historic center of Rome is only a couple minutes away and always very quick and simple to use. It was great to spend our days in the heart of the city enjoying the experiences to then come back to the apartment and relax and then go have dinner in Trastevere or cook ourselves. The apartment location gives central access to a lot of the city. We are planning to come back to Rome in a couple years and stay with David again because we had such a good time and loved the apartment and everything it had to offer.

We had a wonderful two-week stay at David's apartment. Unfortunately David was away so we didn't get to meet him. He was, however, in regular contact and arranged for others to show us around the apartment and neighbourhood. He was a very helpful host, and provided a lot of very useful information - especially the travel directions to the top tourist destinations. We found the apartment to be clean, comfortable and very safe. The apartment provided us a great base from which to explore the fantastic sites Rome has to offer, and we would have liked to stay much longer.

David is a fine host/landlord. This was a fine, well appointed quiet place to escape the noise and clamor of Rome. WiFi was reliable, and you have at home entertainment center. Cooking, housekeeping was easy during our 14 day stay. This place had a medium walk to bus and trolley transportation, and a highly compeditive price makes this a sure bet for a long term stay. I sure would recommend this place. Neighborhood has essential services for living in.

David is an awesome host. He did a great job of explaining everything in the apartment and was very clear and concise (read his emails - they contain important and helpful information!). He was on time, organized, and had the apt all nice and clean. It was comfortable and spacious and I felt right at home. Plus there was a grocery store really close, along with pizza, snack and all sorts of other helpful things. The 8 tram is a 10 min walk away and takes you right into the heart of things - you get off that tram and walk about 15 minutes and you are at the roman forum et al. (And meanwhile, on that 15 min walk, you run into about 34 historical things!)

This is very modern, well kept apartment in a the Monte Verde Nouvo area about 6 tram stops--5 minutes-- from the historic Trastavere district, and even closer to the Testacio area, a less visited Roman neighborhood that gives a feel of how the locals live. There is easy access to the apartment via public transportation from the airport--and the owner, David, provides a wealth of information, including easy to follow directions--and even took my brother and I on a guided tour of the immediate neighborhood. The apartment itself is a air-condition, very pleasant, perfect for one or two persons. Their is a nice double bed and also a fold out couch. It is on the ground floor or a low-rise complex built in the 60's, with a gated and secure private terrace, in a neighborhood of families and older Italians--and we experienced many Felini-esque moments away from the tourist crowd. If you want to be right next to the tourist attractions, and don't like public transportation, or to stay in the midst of the historic district than no--this isn't the place for you. Butt if you'd like a quiet retreat in an area that will give you an idea of what it might be like to live in everyday Rome, then this is it. It also provides a great base of operations at a price that is less half of what you will pay elsewhere. And David is the perfect host--friendly, efficient, relaxed, and willing to help with any reasonable request.

Davids apt. was perfect. We felt at home there. The location is nice and quiet. It was a good escape from the business of Roma. He has it decorated very nice and it has everything you need including a good supply of movies. The patio is my favorite. We made several dinners there and sat on the patio full of beautiful plants. David is a nice guy and wished we would had more time to spend with him but he was out of town. Jane meet us and she is great too. David was available by phone if we needed anything. We did not, however, because Jane set us up on our day of arrival by showing us the neighborhood and local store and pizza risterante. We would stay there again on our next trip to Roma. David's place was great. It was so convenient to the bus stop, quiet (with the windows closed and a/C or fan on so you wouldn't hear the ambulances), had a washer and a fold up clothes dryer you could put outside or inside, a great kitchen and good sized refrigerator and freezer as well as a gas stove and all the kitchen and serving ware you would need. Great internet and T.V. service and wonderful restaurant and market just down the street with great prices. David was so helpful and friendly in showing us around the neighborhood and answering any questions we had. He also had a map and instructions on getting to the main tourist points of interest, including how to use the public transportation system, especially the buses to get to the heart of Rome. The apartment was close enough to downtown to be handy and far enough in the suburbs to be quieter and cheaper with all the amenities you would need close by. We didn't go shopping for anything but food but I know there were other shops nearby. The best restaurant we ate in was in the neighborhood of the apartment, a local family owned Pizzeria with a very cordial host. A superb experience! Hope to rent from David again. Nothing but positive!!

My husband and I (age 26 and 27) stayed at David's place when we were traveling though Italy on our Honeymoon.
The place looks exactly as it does in the photos. It's very cute, charming and quite spacious. It has a good size closet and laundry area so you don't have to keep your suitcases in the main area.
David was a great host. We decided to take a cab from the train station to his place (we had quite a few bags) which cost 16 euro total (not too bad).
David was waiting at his place when the taxi arrived. We were happy to learn it was on the ground floor and we didn't have to lug our suitcases up any stairs. After we checked in and David showed us everything in the apartment and gave us a 1 page summary of how to get to all the major sights by bus or tram (this was very helpful). After we were done in the apartment he took us on a walk around his place and showed us where everything was (grocery store, coffee, pub, train, etc). We finished the walk with a nice cup of cappuccino.
Overall David is a great host and we would definitely come back and stay at his place again.

David was a great host. He took the time to show us the entire apartment and handed out instructions on how to get to places. This was very helpful for us. The wine and roman goodies that he gave us was greatly appreciated. He is also always available to contact.
The apartment is neat and clean and has pretty much everything that we needed for our stay. It's close to the grocery store and pharmacy and a couple places to eat. Our stay at the Charming and Romantic apartment in Lazio, Rome was a memorable experience. David was a great host and ensured we had detailed directions and were met and welcomed on arrival. It made a difference to have a local putting us in touch with the neighbourhood, including the suPermarket and providing detailed intructions on how to get to prominent locations. A 15 minute tram ride took us within walking distance of Pantheon, Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. Trastervere station was one tram stop away and provided relatively easy access to sites in and around the Vatican. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Cooking and washing facilities made a significant difference from previous hotel accomodation. David helped us arrange a taxi when leaving and we would definitely consider staying there again.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at David's apartment - a charming and comfortable place as advertised. Very specific directions were given to find the apartment, and it had every facility one needs especially in the middle of a long two month trip - including a washing machine, wifi and even TV/DVD player just to relax. It was a great base, rather than a sterile hotel rooom. Directions were also given to the major tourist attractions in Rome, and most places were reached within 30 minutes. The local area itself also had good eating options. Unfortunately, I didn't meet David but he was most helpful in all correspondence; and my travelling companion does report he was very welcoming, courteous and helpful. Hopefully next time, we'll sit down and have a chat over the campari! Grazie a mille.

The apartment was perfect...with everything you could want to experience Rome! Conveniently located, in a very safe and friendly neighborhood. David was there to welcome us and took time to ensure that we were well situated before he left. He provided us with his number and faithfully answered with those nuggets of "have-to-know" information. Our first time visit to Rome felt like meeting an old friend, as our welcome included a walking tour of the local neighborhood, assistance in obtaining a transportation pass, and a primer on how to take coffee the Italian way. Rome guide books were available for us, as well as personal recommendations on nice places to eat and visit. Free WiFi, full kitchen, and accessible clothes washer made the entire trip more livable and less costly. A great way to experience Rome!

The flat was a perfect place to start our tour of Italy. Very clean and charming with all of the comforts of home. The courtyard is beautiful with flowering trees and plants. A perfect place for a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail. David was very helpful and went out of his way to show us the neighborhood, a lovely host. I would highly recommend this property.

We stayed at David's lovely studio and utterly enjoyed it! Close enough to public transport to make our way down to Rome even till the wee hours! A totally furnished place ( best Telly we had all holiday!) , it came with everything to even cook meals so got a chance to buy wonderful Italian produce!
David was an excellent host and totally helpful in all matters!

Staying at David's apartment was really the highlight of an already wonderful trip. He was so welcoming and helpful, we felt like this was our home right away. He also gave us great advice on how to survive our first Derby match! I'm going to be recommending this listing to all of my friends.

David could not have done enough for us, he is reliable, friendly and very generous.
We actully arrived a day earlier than planned and telephoned David to ask could we stay the night and no problem, David was there to meet us and made us so welcome, showed us around and was only a phone call away if we needed him.
The location is perfect a 5 min walk to public transport that will take you to all that is available in Roma. David provided us with maps and directions to anywhere we wanted to go and our 17 year old daughter enjoyed his music and movie collection. The appartment is clean, spacious and comfortable and really was a home away from home. My sister & husband stayed in the appartment next door and we were able to meet up every day, shop like a local for fresh produce and enjoy some of Italy's lovely wines and share a meal outside in the lovely leafy courtyard. The neighbour hood is excellent with great restaurants and everything you need. We still talk about our trip to Rome and how lucky we were to have found David's appartment.
