Description from the owner
Flatinrome 7 is a nice apartment located in the picturesque district of Trastevere, on Via Titta Scarpetta at the 1st floor (1 floor up from the ground floor) of a lovely, characteristic 3 storey building, just in front of Tiberina Island (an island on the Tiber river, in the historical center).
Just a few steps from the apartment you can cross the river on the oldest remaining Roman bridge (Ponte Fabricio, 62 b.c.) to reach the heart of the Eternal City.
This apartment is 40 square meters in size (or 380 SqFt) and sleeps up to 6 people: it is ideal for those looking for a relaxing break away from the crowded city center roads...Read more

Additional Location Information
As you can see on my website, this apartment is in the very centre of Rome. We usually consider the historical centre from Vatican (East end) to the Coliseum (West end). The historical centre is just 3km (less than 2 miles) from one end to the other and all the sites (Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Campo de'Fiori, ecc.) are in between. Trastevere is "in the centre of the centre", so more or less 1.5 km (or less than a mile) from everywhere.
Trastevere is also one of the best places in the Eternal City to spend your evenings, as it offers a diversity of cafés and restaurants, scattered throughout the picturesque cobble stone streets. The name of district comes from Latin: trans Tiberis, over the river Tiber. There, the river is bedding and in between is this nice district. It used to be the working class area: Romans used to cross the river to go and work in the city now it is the district “alla moda”.

Left on 05/09/2012 for a stay in January 2012
My husband and I stayed at Flatinrome 7 for three weeks in January 2012. It was a home away from home. Massimo and especially Leonardo were extremely helpful in getting us settled. The weather was cold but the flat was lovely and cosy. Twin air conditioners would ensure it was comfortable all year around.
The flat consists of a bedroom, a sitting room, a small kitchen and a separate bathroom. It has beds for up to six I think, but two was perfect. It is located on the first floor and we felt very secure whilst staying there. The facilities are not brand new but very adequate. The instructions for the washing machine were in Italian and German so it took us a while to work that out. If you overload the circuit the fuse has a tendency to trip but that wasn't a major issue.
Travestere is a lovely, historic place to stay with lots of cafes and restaurants, and interesting sites within easy walking distance. St Cecelia's Basilica is five minutes walk around the corner and well worth a visit. The remains of an ancient Roman villa can be visited underneath the church and ask to see the magnificent frescoes in the choir loft.
The flat is in a fantastic location and only 15-20 minutes walk from everything (The Vatican, Colosseum, Forum, Central Rome). It is close to public transport, including buses and trams, and within easy walking distance of the local shopping area which has a supermarket. The flat has wireless internet which worked well, and a phone and television. There is quite a large cookery school located nearby which can mean some congestion in the mornings and a bit of noise, but we never found it to be a problem.
We had the most wonderful time in our three weeks in Rome and having such a great home base was one of the reasons. We walked all day, discovering many of the treasures of Rome, and came home at night to our wonderful cosy apartment. If you want somewhere central, which is good value and comfortable we would thoroughly recommend this flat.
