Description from the owner

A spacious, comfortable, secure apartment on the third floor (with elevator) of an elegant 19th century building . Just in front of Sant'Angelo Castle, at a walking distance from St. Peter Cathedral and Vatican Museum, and - just crossing the bridge - a few steps from Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. From there the most important historical sights of the Eternal City can be reached with a short walk.

Of course, since that's a delightful very central neighbourhood, it has a good connection with public transportation and it is well served by a variety of local cafes, good restaurants, supermarkets, and delicatessens stores. There is a welc...Read more

      The best location in Rome...lovely

Left on 11/24/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We stayed in the Saint Peter apartment for two weeks in October. Silvio is the host with the most...he sent us a video before we arrived so we would be familiar with his accommodations. The apartment is just as pictured, beautiful and so very comfortable. Even though it is on a busy street, we heard no noise and enjoyed in the inside courtyard balcony . We cooked in the kitchen which is very efficient and used the dishwasher and washing machine. The walls are 2 feet thick concrete, so we slept wonderfully on a comfortable bed and in quiet. The free Wifi was super and two wall mounted TVs were also a plus. This location is within a 15-20 minute walk of all the sights in Rome. We bought a Metro pass but did not use it...walking is the only way to see Rome. Elena the housekeeper met all of our needs and provided a change of sheets and towels after one week's stay. We will definitely recommend this warm and cozy apartment to anyone. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Silvio, for providing us a wonderful stay with many memories!

Charming apartment, great location, v quiet though central, help

Left on 09/16/2012 for a stay in September 2012

I would highly recommend this apartment in Via Crescenzio. I picked it for a stay with my 18 year old daughter because it was near to the places we wanted to visit. I was sceptical of claims it would also be quiet but that was actually an understatement. We could hear no street noise at night nor any sound from the neighbours at all, although the lift going up and down during the daytime indicated they did exist! The free wifi and computer with printer was extremely useful as we could book tickets for museums etc online and print them. There is separate, effective and quiet air conditioning in the sitting room and bedroom making it very comfortable despite some very hot days, and a dishwasher meant a real holiday for the person who would otherwise have to wash up. There's a also a washing machine if you need it.
Take a look on Google street view and you'll get a good impression of the outside. There is an enormous old wood door which is opened with a code when the doorman's off duty - with a creek as if by an unseen butler which I enjoyed immensely - but back to sensible considerations. The apartment looks out over a courtyard (with potted plants) which is why there's no road noise. Another charm of the place is that it's in a residential road and not a tourist ghetto. There is a lovely dark wood lift if the marble staircase is too much.
Silvio was an extremely helpful host and gave us a lot of useful information when we arrived, as well as putting himself out to make sure we were comfortable. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from the apartment, although there are also buses nearby.
We took the hop-on/off open-top bus for 24hrs but it seemed overpriced (22€) and the commentary neither well co-ordinated with where we were, nor interesting. It's also worth knowing that it's route starts at Termini so if you get on elsewhere you'll get stuck with a 15min wait there. Silvio suggested restaurants, shops etc nearby and we went to Raf in Via Plinio 2x - for good food, good value and friendly staff. Also on his list for gelati (fantastic Italian icecream) we tried Mo's and Portafino, both in Via Cola De Rienza, both good. You can also get surprisingly good gelati from the vans at tourist sites although expect to pay c3€ for a cone or pot.
Back to the unpacking but I will definitely stay at this apartment again if I go back to Rome.

      Tremendous Location - Very Quiet

Left on 05/24/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Apartment better than advertised. Located near many of the sights, within walking distance to most with easy access to bus, taxi or hop on hop off. Silvio's hospitality, excellent recommendations and going the extra mile for his guests hugely differentiate this apartment. Entire process was seamless from booking to departure. We were able to arrange transfer from the cruise port and even tickets to a professional soccer game with Silvio. Wifi worked seamlessly as well. Had a great time in Rome and staying in Silvio's apartment was a key factor!!!

      Felt like I Lived Here!

Left on 03/23/2012 for a stay in February 2012

This was a great little apartment in a convenient location. It was more of a residential area so very few tourists. Walking distance to the Vatican and then across the river. The apartment faces in the courtyard so was very quiet. It had all the amenities we needed. We met the owner who was very helpful in giving us suggestions for shopping and dinner etc.

      A wonderful stay!

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Silvio was a fantastic host and made our stay very enjoyable! We got to the flat earlier than the pre-agreed time but Silvio was very accommodating. He gave us lots of tips about local attractions and places to eat. The location of the apartment is perfect! It's very close to all the sights considering the size of Rome but you can get anywhere on foot (everything is around 15 mis away). Getting to Trastevere took a bit longer, about 25mins, but it's an enjoyable walk down the river. Thanks for making us feel so welcome and we'll definitely be back (hopefully, soon!)
