The magnificent Apartment Baccina 2 is situated in the “Monti” area, a central and characteristic area of Rome which lies between the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Via Nazionale and the St. Mary Major’s Basilica.

Monti is one of the most ancient Roman areas, once the site from where raised the Trajan’s Market and the Domus Aurea. It is famous for being a kind of little Trastevere among the ruins of Rome. You have a magical atmosphere on the verge of the best monuments in Rome.

The disctrict is a very characteristic one, most of it is pedestrian and situated away far from traffic noise. The neighborhood is rich of art and his...tory as many famous churches are spotted all around.

The most famous in the “rione” is the church of Santa Maria ai Monti which was designed by Giacomo della Porta, the most famous designer and architect of Rome. You will be stunned by the beauty of its rich interiors and decorations.

If you want to do shopping some nice and cute boutiques are at your hand. We suggest to take a visit to the food shop Ciuri Ciuri where you can find some really tasty pastries and other great food from the Sicily region.

The apartment is just five minutes walking away from the underground stations of the Line B “Colosseo and Cavour”. The area is also well served by the ATAC bus lines 60,84,85,87,175,186,271,571,810,850 and by the electric bus line 117. The Termini train station is very close as well (just one metro stop from Cavour).

The apartment (about 80 sqm) is located on the first floor of a characteristic building with elevator, make it very convenient for senior visitors. The space inside is very luxurious and typical of Roman homes. The dining area houses a table that can accommodate up to six people. Here you can have unforgettable dinners chatting with your friends and tastying our unbeatable wine.

The spacious and roomy living room is provided with a comfy double sofa and with two comfortable single sofa beds. Here you can have some relax and confer with the rest of your party about the next places to visit during your stay.

The bedroom with a king-size bed is really a must as you can see from the picture being it an elegant room where your sleeps will make you feeling highly relaxed. The en-suite bathroom with shower complete the comforts of this part of the house. Inside the bedroom is a further single sofa bed for one of your children.

The main bathroom is furnished with a shower as well. As you can see the apartment features two bathrooms, something really useful in the case you are a larger group staying in the apartment.

The fully equipped kitchen is available in order to offer all the necessary utensils to make some food without having to spend too much money in the nearby restaurants.

The apartment, which comes complete with linens and towels, is provided with air conditioning, washing machine, dish-washer, wifi Internet connection and TV colour. The heating is independent. Wooden beam ceilings are in the living room and in the bedroom offering a unique and outstandin setting,

Colosseum area is a residential neighbourhood based in one of the Seven Hills, where Rome was born! This is one of Rome's oldest neighborhoods with still a strong Roman atmosphere. Many years have passed from its fascinating past glory, it is still one of Rome's most popular tourist attraction site. The Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum are just a few minutes away, or a five minute electric-powered bus ride. This area has an abundance of typical cuisine Roman restaurants and delicious Pizzerias.

  I cannot thank you enough Giovanni for your assistance with providing us one of the most beautiful accomodations we have stayed in in Europe thus far. We have done a great deal of travelling through Europe in the past 3 years and have already recommended "The Key to Italy" to all our friends. Upon our arrival in Rome, we were greeted by Hassen at the apartment and he was very helpful with our luggage, and thorough and professional explaining all the wonderful features of the apartment. We loved the location, with the quiet narrow cobblestone street, being out of the touristy areas and living among the local residents of Rome. There were many wonderful places to eat that were close by, especially the "Taverna dei Fori Imperiali" restaurant which was only one block over...reservations recommended for sure, excellent pasta dishes! We were within walking distance to the Colosseum and many other ruins and attractions of Rome. The apartment was very clean, kitchen well equipped, the 2 bathrooms were very convenient for 2 couples. My husband and I slept on the 2 single beds in the living room, but they were quite comfortable. We also booked a tour of the Vatican through The Key to Italy and the tour company they recommended was excellent!! We by-passed the huge line, our group was small, only 6 people and our guide was funny, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable...a truly enjoyable experience!
  
  A couple of minor disappointments:
  It was forgotten to leave extra pillows and blankets for the 2 single beds in the living room.
  Upon check out, we had a late flight and were unable to leave our luggage with the company as they were closed on Sunday's, they suggested we leave our luggage at the train station, however there was a 2 hour line-up to do so, therefore we had to drag all our luggage with us for the day as we didn't wish to miss our booked tour.

  We were amazed when Marco our host opened the door to our Rome apartment and we saw that the pictures hadn't done it justice. It was enormous, elegantly furnished and the ancient wooden beams were the icing on the cake. We loved the Monti neighborhood, with shops that were unique and exciting. What a vibrant Roman area. Within a two block radius we found three restaurants and didn't have to eat anywhere else, each with excellent food and good service. Some only cash, so ask first. While there I read the NY Times Roman travel article and the writer stayed on Baccina too! I wouldn't stay in any other area. Be sure to check out booking guides and airport drivers before you leave to make your trip even more seamless.
