New YorkLocation! Location! Location!
Left on 04/09/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The archetto was very all about the location. We really enjoyed our daily pilgrimage to the Trevi Fountain, and to San Crispino- it was literally 2 minutes away! We could hear the church bells from the Pontifical college next door, every hour, which was quite transporting.
Rosie and Stefano were most helpful with our arrival and there were no issues with the apartment. It was simple, and the beds were comfortable.
Even within the very touristy area, we were able to find a couple of really good restaurants- Tamerici and Il Vineria Chianti, which we enjoyed a lot. And did I mention daily trips to San Crispino?!Response from Italy Perfect - 04/10/2013

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, the excellent location and proximity to San Crispino, where you can enjoy some the best gelato in Rome. Thank you from the Italy Perfect Team.

Achetto is perfectly situated for exploring central Rome, yet it is very peaceful and quiet. Outside is tourist central, inside is an oasis of calm - you can't really ask for a better combination.
A supermarket and various salumeria nearby makes taking care of breakfasts and lunches easy; good restaurants make the evening a treat.Response from Italy Perfect - 01/18/2013

Left on 12/14/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Rome was the highlight of our trip due a wonderful stay at the archetto apartment. The location was terrific! As first time visitors to Rome we wanted to be very centrally located. Loved the fact that all the sites we planned to see were walkable from this great location. Amazing to be able to walk a few minutes from the apartment and see the Trevi Fountain. The apartment was just as it is pictured, very nicely furnished, bright, and very clean too. The greeter was prompt and polite. Many good restaurants in the neighborhood, bakery, two grocery stores, and of course an excellent gelateria for a daily dose of ice cream. We loved our time in Rome and would return to stay at the archetto apartment again in a heartbeat. Thank you for everything.Response from Italy Perfect - 12/15/2012

Menlo Park, CADisappointing rental
Left on 11/23/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Having rented before from Italy Perfect, and having rented in Paris through Italy Perfect's sister organization Paris Perfect, I had high hopes for this apartment. It didn't turn out that way.
Let me point out that I rented 3 other apartments in other parts of Italy on this extended trip, and this was by far the least welcoming.
The booking process was quite easy. However, the renter finds it difficult to do other than pay in dollars with Italy Perfect making the exchange at the cash exchange rate - which is maybe 5% less favorable than the bank rate you would get with a normal funds transfer.
Italy Perfect does send lots of information about the apartment. And provides a web site on which you are required to provide detailed information about your arrival. However, this website is not shared with the contact person in Rome. So, despite having paid in full 2 months before arrival, and having communicated my exact arrival information in detail on the website, the contact person at the apartment was "surprised" when I showed up. Fortunately, the apartment was nearly ready. I will admit that buried in the reams of "essential" documentation Italy Perfect sent to me was the requirement that I contact the person *by phone* before my arrival. I didn't do that.
The archetto apartment is on the top floor of a residential building, right in the center of Rome. The location is very touristic, and well situated for visiting most of the sights. Restaurants are easy to find. Shops for buying food and other staples are not. The local "supermarket" had pretty slim pickings. The area has an extraordinary number of street buskers, and "umbrellamen". This can get tiresome.
The apartment is spacious for 2 people and possible for 4 (with the LR sleep sofa), and has a nice terrace if the weather is good. The kitchen is not suitable for anything but the most basic cooking, and is outfitted with an absolute minimum set of Ikea-ware. Heat is provided via the (gas) hot-water heater, and there is no thermostat, only off/on. There is air conditioning, but we didn't try it. When we arrived, the clothes washer was 5 inches protruding out of the kitchen cabinets. The contact person said that it often "walked" and she re-situated it after being asked 3 times to do so. Fortunately, we didn't have to use it.
The 5th-floor hallway light was not working, which made entering the apartment at night both difficult and dangerous. We reported this to no avail.
The Internet service was spotty at best -- we pretty much gave up on trying to use it. The problem appeared to be the connection from the base station to the ISP (Vodafone).
The airport transport service recommended by Italy Perfect was on-time and reasonably priced.
In summary, this was an expensive apartment, by far the most expensive that we rented. If you are expecting what amounts to a more-comfortable hotel room, you will probably be happy. If you expect an apartment in a neighborhood where you can shop at local stores and cook in, you will probably be disappointed.Response from Italy Perfect - 12/07/2012

Thank you very much for your repeat business. We are so sorry that your arrival did not go smoothly and, it seems, started things off on the wrong foot, coloring your experience in a negative way. We appreciate the opportunity to review our processes to ensure other guests do not experience the same problem. I think that we actually sent you too much information and you missed reading the document titled Arrival Information that is really clear about our scheduling a greeter for your arrival time, but the greeter waits for your phone call because travel delays are so common. The Arrival Instructions are very specific that if you show up at the apartment without first calling the greeter no one will be there to welcome you. (By the way, if you stayed with our Paris affiliate, they also request a phone call.) There are reminders of the one phone call process during four communications to you during the reservation and confirmation process, but we need to plan for experienced travelers like yourself not reading the details. We are going to retitle that document something like “If you don’t read anything else, read this - Arrival Instructions”.
Your greeter was scheduled for your arrival time; she had access to the information you so helpfully provided. She just needed that phone call from you. With the experience of thousands of greetings, we know that delays occur all the time and usually travelers can’t manage rescheduling their arrival in the midst of dealing with their travel delays. Having greeters waiting for hours and hours in a property wondering what has gone wrong, just doesn’t work. Hence that phone call we ask for once you reach the city. We even provide information on how to make a phone call.
We have to make the Arrival Instructions more “important” for another reason. You mentioned that the local grocery store was disappointing. There are two really good supermarkets just a little farther than the one I think you found. And both are marked on the neighborhood map in that Arrival Instructions and in copies of that document in the binder in the apartment. Your greeter should have showed you that map, however, and we are going to review her process to ensure she shows future guests. Perhaps because of your surprise arrival she was flustered and overlooked this step. What a shame you didn't use the little map in the Arrival Instructions which shows the locations of the two supermarkets, both within a few minutes walk from the apartment.
We are happy you liked the easy online booking process but you indicated that you were disappointed about the currency exchange rate that is the rate offered by the Bank of America. When you selected “Pay by Credit Card” immediately below it is the choice for “Pay in Euros by wire” that would have allowed you to seek a more favorable exchange rate than the rate offered by our bank. Detailed explanations about foreign exchange rates, and payment options, is also covered in ItalyPerfect.com website FAQs.
We are glad you appreciated the convenient location and proximity to the sites. Thank you for noting the many nice features of the apartment such as the terrace and spaciousness as well as the reliable driver we recommended. The kitchen is accurately depicted in the photos and video on our website. I'm sorry if you were expecting a larger, or more elaborately outfitted kitchen although most Europeans make do with comparable, or smaller, kitchens and manage to produce delightful meals. We recently inventoried the contents of the kitchen and found it complete with basic equipment, including items such as garlic press, cooking spoons, forks, multiple sizes of pans, blender, microwave. It doesn’t have an oven, but that is clear in the description.
We are very sorry to hear the light bulb on the landing was burned out and wasn’t replaced promptly. We wish you had notified us that you experienced problems with the WiFi connection so that our technician could come check it during your stay.
Again, apologies for disappointing you especially with the arrival information being so hard to sort out. We wish things had started on a better foot leading to a more positive experience. Thank you for your review and feedback, we are using your information to improve our processes and documentation. -

The archetto apartment was everything we had hoped for and more. When the taxi pulled up to the door we were so happy about the location. We walked everywhere. Only caught a taxi once to go to the shopping outlets which were about 30min out of Rome, but worth it. The apartment was beautiful, our greeter was very kind and helpful and marked out our map to show us everything we needed. The restaurant downstairs is very nice and reasonably priced. Being so close to the Trevi Fountain was so much fun for the kids, especially going there early in the morning before anybody else got there. I should also mention Stefano, the driver italy perfect recommended. His car service was very professional, friendly and reliable. We would love to return to the archetto, and would highly recommend Italy Perfect!

We loved the archetto apartment. It was light and airy and very comfortable. It is clearly 'downtown' Rome and comes with all of the good and not so good that living in downtown means -- noises etc., but we loved it. We walked everywhere (it's important to bring comfortable shoes) and found some excellent restaurants. Pat was very helpful when we couldn't get into the safe (that had our passports!) and Rosie helped with wifi. We would highly recommend the apartment and Italy Perfect.

Archetto Sep 2012
We arrived in Rome august 15th, in he middle of the hottest summer Italy has had in 50 years. The appartments was wonderful. Unfortunately the air conditioning in the bed room had died. Thankfully the a/c in the main room still worked so we were able to stay cool.
We contacted Pat and informed her about the a/c and she called me the next day informing us that as the weekend was coming up it was highly likely that it would not be repaired until the next week.
Pat told us that due to this they would like to move us to another appartment if that was ok. We were reluctant as the location of archetto was amazing. We were 2 minutes from some of the best sights in Rome. Due to the heat we agreed, and the new appartment was also wonderful.
We cannot recommend Pat and her team enough. She definitely went above and beyond the call of duty. We will definitely be using them again. -

The archetto apartment was great: It was centrally located and really gave us the flavor of living in Rome! Our greeter Rosa was very helpful, and Stefano provided prompt and efficient airport transfers. The archetto Spaghetteria downstairs had perfect spaghetti in myriad preparations and was a real convenience for takeout. We were regulars at San Crispino Gelateria!
I would definitely recommend Italy Perfect to anyone!Response from Italy Perfect - 08/04/2012

Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Ciao ! A few words to share with you a wonderful week in Rome. The apartment lived up to our (high) expectations. It was very comfortable, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the terrasse everyday for apero before dinner. The apartment is centrally located in Rome, and everything we visited was within a 30-45 minutes walking distance. Several good restaurants around. We moderately enjoyed the archetto restaurant downstairs (unfriendly waiter, OK food), but we found several others nearby, much better (Baccano, Il Chianti, Osteria dell'Ingegno). For bread and pizza lovers, a 20 minutes walk to Forno Marco Roscioli in Campo dei Fiore is a must. For gelati, walk 10 min. to Giolitti, a world famous place (but good gelati are easy to find everywhere).
Rosie our greeter was wonderful, on time and was able to make last minute modifications to her schedule for us.
I would definitely recommend this apartment.

Great apartment with space, civilised, quiet (we were glad the bedroom was on the back since there is a restaurant almost immediately below on the front).
Liked being on fourth floor (with lift!) and having the terrace on the back and tiny balcony on the front.
The area is very convenient for all the sights. The nearby supermarkets are not wonderful so it is worth going to the fruit and veg stall in Piazza (um, can't remember name but it is mentioned in the guide in the apartment) and to the larger supermarket in via del Gesu.
The driver you recommended was also good - a treat to be driven into the centre. -

I stayed here with two teenagers for 10 days last December.
The apartment is 2 blocks from Trevi, in the middle of a nice quiet neighborhood. Plenty of restaurants and shopping very close.
Short walk to the nearest train station, but there is plenty within walking distance as well. Just pick a direction and walk and you're bound to have an enjoyable day.
The apartment has everything you will need and is very comfortable. Kitchen is fully functional if you're up for cooking, though i was quite distracted by all the great places to eat all around

Fairfax, VirginiaAwesome Stay at archetto!
Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012
My family of four had a fantastic stay at the archetto apartment truly located just three minutes walk from the Trevi Fountain. Location is quite, safe, charming and is walkable to all major sites although we did take the bus to the Vatican. Great experience! Grocery shopping is just past Trevi Fountain. Our two grown kids (22 and 19) comfortably shared the sofa bed. Working with Lisa at Italy Perfect was fantastic as she was very helpful and very responsive to my emails. We hired a driver (Stefano- contact info through Italy Perfect) who was on time and professional coming and going. I would highly recommend this apartment and working with Italy Perfect.

Left on 12/07/2011 for a stay in November 2011
I loved this apartment. So tastefully furnished and comfortable, with a balcony where we could eat outside enjoying the sites and sounds even though it was November. Hard to believe that the apartment which is situated on a quiet side street is just a few short blocks from Trevi Fountain bustling with crowds of people. It was great to return home to the apartment where we felt a world away from the tourists (yet able to join them with just a short walk when we wanted to). We also loved the restaurant just downstairs where we felt like family. I'm already thinking of when I can return here.
