A very pleasant appartment in a convenient location.

Left on 04/25/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Had a lovely few days in Rome staying here with my husband and two grown up daughters.

The apartment was clean and pleasant and the beds were very comfortable. The very friendly owners arranged a taxi from the airport and met us on arrival. They gave us a mobile phone to contact them if we had any queries or problems and there is a laptop and WiFi in the apartment to access the internet.

The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee and basic food items for breakfast. There is a supermarket nearby and a choice of restaurants and pizzerias. The frequent trams take you in to the metro, or link with other lines to the Vatican or various parts of the city.

One tip - book your tickets to Villa Borghese before you leave home. We found there were none available for the next 6 days !!!

Apartment owners and family made us feel as if we had arrived home for a few days...everything in the apartment clean and well presented. Use of cell phone and laptop were really appreciated. Taxis from and to airport efficiently arranged.

Great location, short travel time on public transport to central Rome areas and local amenities more than sufficient for our needs. Will be back in Rome again at the Piccola Londra,

Great location. Modern, comfortable apartment. Wonderful owners.

Left on 10/10/2012 for a stay in October 2012

I stayed at Piccola Londra with two work colleagues/friends during a recent weekend trip to Rome. From the very beginning, Paola was exceptionally responsive via email. She arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport, which ended up being an excellent decision, as it may have been a bit complicated to navigate to the apartment on our own via public transportation the first night. Paola's husband met us at the apartment to give us the keys, a tour, and some recommendations.

The apartment is just lovely. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Everything was very clean. The apartment is renovated and very modern. There was plenty of additional bedding, towels, etc. available in a closet in one of the bedrooms. The kitchen was stocked with basic dishes and cookware. There was even a combination washer/dryer in the kitchen, which would be nice for a longer stay. The owners left us a bottle of wine, as well as some basics for breakfast. There is a grocery store directly across the street, which was perfect for stocking up on a few more items.

Paola's husband gave us several recommendations for local restaurants. He also explained the tram and metro system, as well as where to buy tickets. The tram stop is literally a two minute walk from the apartment, and from there it's between 5-10 minutes to the closest metro stop. At the end of the tram line, where one exits to get on the metro, there is also a cab stand directly on the other side of the People's Plaza. We found that using a cab was pretty afforadable and was convenient when we weren't going somewhere directly on the metro line. The owners also left a tour book, lots of maps, and an umbrella for our use while we were there. Even more importantly, they left a local cell phone that we could use. This proved invaluable as we struggled to get our own roaming to work on our first evening in the country. The wireless internet was fast and reliable in the apartment.

Paola and her daughter met us to check out the day we left. They also arranged another car to pick us up and take us back to the airport. We had a wonderful stay in Rome thanks to the graciousness of Piccola Londra's owners, and the lovely, comfortable accomodations there.

Good value, great location, helpful hosts

Left on 09/27/2012 for a stay in September 2012

The apartment is really well located, slightly away from the main tourist areas, but easily accessible via tram and Metro. We had no trouble getting around. The hosts have thought of everything, and we found them very approachable. The apartment has all you could need, particularly for a family (Explora is just down the road for those with children under 12). The only minor problem is a bar at street level, but this problem was solved by using ear plugs. There is a mini supermarket just across the road, and a reasonable range of restaurants in walking distance. We would stay here again.

Spacious, Ultra Modern and Very Convenient Location

Left on 08/28/2012 for a stay in July 2012

If you want a holiday in Rome staying at a spacious, ultra modern apartment that is conveniently located but without paying a huge bill… Look no further! this is absolutely the place to be! We were so lucky we found Piccola Londra when me and my parents travelled to Rome for the first time. It was such a pleasant stay and we enjoyed every second of it! The place looks exactly like the photos if not more, the whole place is so beautifully decorated, cleverly uses the space, and the two bedrooms were huge. Both rooms has air-conditioning which was perfect for the hot weather in Rome. Lots of wardrobe spaces if you have a lot of luggage like us. The bathroom is ultra modern, very clean, and we loved the super large showerhead – it feels like showering in the rain! The kitchen has everything you need to make breakfast or a simple meal. The front-loaded washing machine + dryer was very handy.

The location was fantastic too! It’s literally 20 meters away from the super market, and the tram line no.2 is right outside the apartment. There are also a very good restaurant right underneath the complex. If you walk about 100 meters down you will find this great pizzaria, which we went almost every second day.

The owners Paola and George were possibly the most welcoming hosts we’ve ever met. They arranged a car to pick us up from the airport, waited in front of the apartment for us, helped us to take the luggage upstairs (there is a small elevator in the building), spent a good half an hour to show us around and explained how things work around the place, give us advice on our itinerary and patiently answered all the questions we had. They even prepared a laptop and mobile phone for us in case we didn’t have any. How thoughtful!

I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I can’t wait to go back there again myself! Thank you George and Paola!

      Sweet spot for Rome experience

Left on 08/26/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Excellent spot close to trams, supermarket & restaurants. Not located in a real tourist hotspot so nice to getaway from the madding crowds, easy to get public transport to the ancient features of Rome. Apartment well appointed with everything you need, maps, cards for local restaurants, wifi, a mobile provided by the landlord, coffee, milk and a bottle of wine for us in the fridge. The apartment itself, was very comfortable, stylish, modern, clean and the kitchen facilities great for any home cooking. What else could you ask for - brilliant. The Owners were most helpful and even checked up on us to see that we were getting on OK in Rome and also helped in arranging a car to the airport at the end of our stay. Such nice people really made a difference.

      Clean, comfortable, and very well-managed.

Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in June 2012

My husband and I were traveling to Rome with our 11 month old daughter, and we always stay in an apartment so that she may have her own room. This was the perfect place for a baby who has just begun to walk and gets into everything. The apartment is very clean, decorated in a minimalist style, and there were very few trinkets, pieces of decor, etc. for my daughter to break or try to eat. I hate clutter, and there was virtually none! The apartment is small, and this allowed us the piece of mind to let our daughter roam. We had very fast wireless internet ( much better than our residence in Vicenza!), the owners left us snacks, wine, and coffee. Beautiful bathroom and shower too! The location is not in the city center, but very, very close (maybe a five minute trolley ride). Again, we preferred this because it was quiet in the evenings, and we ate in better restaurants than we would if we had stayed near the main attractions. Oh, and there was a beer store right below us. Very nice. Air-conditioned and comfortable, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable, clutter-free stay. A final note about the owners:
In my haste to get us all out of the house for dinner one night, I grabbed my own house keys-and not those of the Rome apartment. I had also left my phone-with Paola's number-locked in the apartment! Luckily a gentleman living upstairs let me come into his apartment to use his internet so, that I could get Paola's number from an e-mail. It was a Saturday night, I believe that she had just arrived back to Rome from several hours away, but both her and her daughter arrived very quickly with another key. They were truly wonderful, and they will help to make your stay special.

      Your own neighborhood place

Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012

From the moment that George, one of the owners, met us at the curb at 11 pm as we arrived from the airport, we knew we had found our home in Rome (for a week, anyway). We could not have felt more welcome, and the apartment was everything we expected and more. George and Paola had thought of everything. George even called us during the week to warn us there was a transit strike! The market across the street had everything we needed (and maybe more cured meats than we should have indulged in), and the restaurant literally downstairs, Osteria Flaminica, was superb. The tram service in Rome has a curious layout, but fortunately the apartment is right on one of the lines, with quick service to Piazza del Popolo, where you can either start walking or catch the Metro (with its own curious layout).

The Di Baggio family was very friendly from the start of our inquiry and during our stay. The instructions how to get from the airport to the apartment were accurate and easy. There is a little elevator that is convenient to bring your luggage up to the 3rd floor. Some handy groceries (coffee, bread, jam), map and tourist guide made us feel welcome.
We (Dutch family with 2 children) liked its location: relatively quiet street, but just 5-10 minutes by tram (every few minutes, stop at 200 meters) from the crowded Piazza del Popolo (metro); supermarket at 50 meters.
The apartment is modern and clean, good beds and wardrobes. The pictures on the internet were accurate. We didn't use the airco, TV and new washing/drying machine. The Wifi was great and handy to book our museum tickets on the internet.

      Nos sentimos como en Casa!!

Left on 05/22/2012 for a stay in May 2012
