Exceptional and comfortable apartment, ideally located near Camp

Left on 05/25/2012 for a stay in April 2012

The indoor space is quite comfortable with two seating areas, wifi, a small outdoor space on the same level, and a very large outdoor area on the roof, private to this apartment. One bathroom is painted entirely in blue as an octopus's garden; quirky but ok. The four flights of stairs from the street entrance to the apartment (no lift) creates quite an appetite. Largo dei Librari is generally quiet, yet well placed for food shops and other retail, and restaurants.

Charming apartment, perfect location, great for a family.

Left on 02/27/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We stayed in #335 Largo dei Librari on our recent trip to Rome. We booked it through Roman Reference, who were very easy to work with - their communication by email was excellent. We were met at the apartment by the key holder who was very friendly and spoke some English. She showed us how everything worked and gave us clear instructions, and pointed us in the right direction for groceries and the tourist information office. The apartment is on the top floor of a three-story walk-up. There is no elevator so we can’t recommend it for people with mobility issues. The rooms were clean, bright, and nicely decorated by the owner. The beds are very comfortable and linens were clean. There were plenty of blankets and towels. There are two bathrooms, both nicely appointed, although the showers are hand-held and the showerheads could use replacing. We used the washing machine (no detergent was provided but we found some at the local grocery) Italian homes generally have no dryers, so we hung our wash on the clothes drying rack in the bathroom. We had good WiFi internet although it occasionally went down for a short while. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils, a coffee pot (both american and Italian style). No microwave was provided, but a fully functioning stove served us perfectly. Tv service worked well, although it was all Italian programming, which made for an interesting cultural experience. There is a tiny patio off the back with some interesting Roman artifacts (this apartment is built on the ruins of Teatro di Pompey, where Caesar was killed!) There is a small terrace which can be reached by a spiral staircase, which has a nice view of the dome of one of the nearby churches.

The piazza Largo dei Librari is lively despite is tiny size. There was some noise from the street, but that was to be expected. The tiny church next door is charming. There is a gelato shop steps from our door, a small snack bar and tobacconist shop and a fantastic fried fish place, the renowned “Filetti di Baccala”, which was packed with both locals and tourists - the staff was friendly and and the fried fish filets and chicory salad were fantastic! The apartment has a great central location on a nice pedestrian street, via Giubbonnari, with lots of shops selling jewelry and apparel. A block away is Campo d’Fiori, with its wonderful produce market. Shops and restaurants line the square, and there is activity there day and night. From the apartment you can easily walk to Trastevere, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and a longer walk will take you to the Vatican and the sites of ancient Rome, the Colosseum and Forum. There are bus stops nearby.

Centrally placed flat, in delightful small square.

Left on 10/30/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Large flat, not stylish, but equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed the library, the pictures and ornaments, and the roof terrace. (But not the stairs!) I had a bedroom and a bathroom across the hall. My relative had the other bedroom, and en-suite bathroom. Largo dei Librari has snack places to eat, and a hairdresser. Campo dei Fiori is two minutes away, and has many restaurants and a market in the mornings.

      Very nice appartment

Left on 05/18/2010 for a stay in April 2010

We were 4 people staying in this very nice appartment. A good location close to Campo Dei fiori, a wonderful terrace on the roof, lots of space.
The owner was very kind and let us keep the key till late afternoon, so that we could keep our luggage in the appartment the last day.
      Thanks a lot!

The perfect location for a pleasant stay in Rome

Left on 05/04/2010 for a stay in February 2010

We were two couples staying in Rome for a week to visit a daughter studying abroad. This apartment was huge, providing privacy and room to entertain. The location is ideal, on a tiny piazza near the Campo dei Fiori, walking distance to just about everything. Beds are comfortable. There is a lovely rooftop deck we would enjoy in any season but winter. No elevator, but not a problem unless you have mobility issues. Delightful owner may be the one to meet you there and she speaks no English, so if you know little Italian you may want to come prepared with questions written out in Italian (and possible answers!) or just do your best - it'll work out. No American coffee maker, but two on-the-stove expresso makers can make do. Highly recommended. Fabulous meals at nearby Osteria Farnese and Ar Galleto. Best bread at the bakery on the Campo and great cheeses available at the farmers market every morning.

We stayed in this charming and personal apartment with our 2 adult children for 3 nights and we did enjoy the place bye all means. Especially the outdoor terrace was a good thing in the morning and late afternoon. And two toilets do make it easier;-)

      Very nice and very convenient

Left on 09/01/2009 for a stay in August 2009

The apartment was everything we (our family of 5) had hoped for. We'd certainly go back. The only thing to note is that the people who met us and opened the apartment (who were very nice) spoke no English. Communication, especially telephone communication when we just arrived at the Rome train station, was a challenge.

      Huge Apartment, Great Location

Left on 09/01/2009 for a stay in August 2009

The location is within walking distance to all major attractions plus has the added benefit of a wonderful food market every morning. The apartment is very large..the pictures do not do it justice.
While we were there the washing machine broke and the staff from Roman Reference were extremely helpful in contacting the owner, although it was not fixed during our stay. Apartment has 2 AC's which are in the bedrooms, but with doors open will cool most of apartment. Beds were very comfortable. It was perfect for our family of 5 and would easily accommodate 6. I would definately stay here again and would recommend to all. Roman Reference was extremely helpful right from the start of our reservations to finish...very professional!

      very good location

Left on 06/22/2009 for a stay in December 2008

The Roman reference team was great, they answered quickly whenever we asked for something. The apartment is decorated in a very individual way (look at one of the bathrooms decorated like a deep sea setting), but it only adds to the charm of the place. If you want to stay in the heart of the "centro storico", this apartment is the right place to go to.
There might be some noise from the guests of the bars on the little Largo, especially on the weekend. Even on wet and cold December nights people were sitting outside and talking late into the night, but only one of the bedrooms is situated on the "largo " side of the apartment. In my opinion the location outweighs this slight drawback.
