Excellent location for a short stay in Rome

Left on 05/20/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The check-in process of calling on arrival and receiving key was very efficient. Apartment is clean, with 3 bedrooms and only 1 shower. the furniture is a bit old but usefull. Related to the price paid this was a very good choice to stay here. Good restaurants in the neighboorhood, supermarkets, the subway close by. Good place to stay in the wonderfull city of rome for a few days

Thank you for your feedback! We checked the washing machine and it works when we try it, sorry about that! Mattresses and beds are kind of old, my family and I use it regularly and didn't think they were uncomfortable really, we will look into changing the mattresses asap. Again, we really appreciate your feedback, thank you!

I recommend this apartment. Don't expect buckingham palace but this is really great value for money if you have a big family like mine. Daughters in one bedroom, sons in the other and us two in the master bedroom. You get together in the dining room (no sofas or living, but if you're here to tour you'll be out most of the day). The kitchen is sunny and, to our standards, fully functional. There is only one shower and the elctric heated water will cover six in a row only if you pay attention to usage. Otherwise the two bathrooms are a good venue, keep in mnd though that while one is extremely big and sunny, the other is narrow if not small and has no shower.

Excellent Place to Stay in Rome

Left on 06/04/2009 for a stay in June 2008

10 minute walk to the Coliseum. Most everything else was a farther hike. The neighborhood itself was very nice, with a supermarket less than a block away. We didn't find any good restaurants in the immediate area, however.

As for the apartment itself: The space is very large, so if you're traveling with more than four people it's an excellent choice. The bedrooms are probably the best part of this apartment. Three really nice big rooms. Two of them have air conditioners, and those worked very well. (note that if you use the AC you have to empty a bucket that collects the condensation every day or two, a minor inconvenience.)

The main bathroom is huge. It had the best water pressure and temperature control in the shower of any place we stayed. The second bathroom is a narrow space that works but isn't all that comfortable to use. The washing machine is in there - it worked well for us. Again no clothes dryer - we used the hanging rack and put that in the large first bathroom to dry our clothes.

The dining room is a small table with four chairs and a china hutch. The kitchen was very large, with a big refrigerator. No microwave here which was a big disappointment. Otherwise the kitchen was excellent.

This apartment also had an elevator, a very narrow lift like the other places. But it worked and we loved it.

The d?cor was austere throughout. There is a collection of blue jeans ads in frames on one wall and an inexplicable framed photo of a zebra's butt on another. The furniture in the bedrooms is beautiful though - I'd love to have some of the pieces in those rooms!

Our communications with the apartment managers were all courteous and prompt. Enso met us at the apartment and showed us around - he was very nice to deal with as well. We had to put up a $400 credit card deposit. We had paid a deposit when we reserved it, and that was correctly applied to the balance when we arrived, so they were trustworthy and a pleasure to deal with.

      Manager

We're sorry this client wasn't satisfied, but the grim statistics behind proactive reviews makes us feel worse. This apartment last year had a 83% approval rate (we hand out short reviews to be filled out upon check out to clients with a few questions about the general quality of the apartment). Of the 30+ reviews request to last year clients only this one came back so far, which seems to confirm, as many managers in the industry claim, that unhappy clients are 5 times more likely to take proactive action than satisfied ones. It's a major flaw in a system that otherwise would serve wonderfully both the future clients and us. To this respect more should be added. Clients complaining often overlook instructions, don't give us an opportunity to double check and fix (we immediately send the cleaning if there is a complain about cleanliness) and almost invariably have been troublesome long before even landing in Rome. This specific client was asking and obtained with long and insisting emails written strictly in Polish (now it comes out English was spoken, we only have 1 colleague that can speak and write Polish making all procedures more complicated) to sleep 11 people in an apartment then listed as max 6. On top of that she was objecting on paying any extra for it. Accommodating complicated requests has, as it often happens, turned out against us.

We used this apartment while at a wedding in Rome. Whilst the plumbing was alittle old-fashioned we found the apartment very roomy and pleasant as well as being reasonably central. Overall, a "yes".
