This adorable apartment is located in a quiet and characteristic street of the fabulous Trastevere neighborhood. From its perfect location to its charming and comfortable interior, the Viola apartment will guarantee a wonderful and memorable stay in Rome.

The area surrounding the apartment:

The Viola apartment is situated in the heart of Trastevere, the picturesque medieval area located on the west bank of the Tiber. Part of the historical centre of Rome, Trastevere is the perfect place to glimpse a bit of the old world while... still enjoying the lifestyle of today's Romans. From the cobblestone streets to the overhanging laundry lines, senses are pleasantly awakened with every step you take in this bohemian neighborhood.

Equidistant from the Coliseum and the Vatican, Trastevere is an ideal place to discover the secrets of Rome on foot. Saint Peter and the Vatican city are about twenty minutes away and upon crossing the Tiber you get to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, and many other sights, in no time at all (15 to 30 minutes walks). If you want to take public transportation, the area is extremely well served by the electric buses of Rome.

A few blocks from the Viola apartment, you can find the outdoor market of Piazza San Cosimato, where tented booths display a bountiful array of tantalizing fruits and vegetables, or the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, the most popular gathering place in the area. In this square you will find the church Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Rome and very much worth a visit.

The area becomes very lively at night as it is full of trendy bars and dozens of quality restaurants and pizzerias, where you can taste great Italian food at reasonable prices.

The apartment:

This lovely apartment is located on the ground floor of a 16th Century building, in a tranquil cobblestone street of the historical center, and enjoys a private entrance.

The Viola apartment is a quintessential Trastevere apartment. It offers terra-cotta tile floor enhanced by a warmly-colored handmade carpet, cozy contemporary furnishings, and high ceilings crowned by beautiful, exposed original beams. Guests will feel completely at ease from the moment they walk in, thanks to the captivating and warm atmosphere.

The living room of this apartment is spacious and inviting the guests to relax after trekking around Rome historical centre. In this area you can find a TV, a dining table, a double sofa bed and two single sofa beds suitable for the 3rd, 4th and 5th guest.

The bedroom features a comfortable double bed and a large cupboard to store guests’ personal belongings. From this room you can access a small private terrace which makes a great excuse for a sunny outdoor breakfast or a romantic dinner al fresco….

The corner kitchen is functional and perfectly equipped with all comforts to cook some of the wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables bought at the local outdoor market. The bathroom is fresh and simple in look, and comes with a shower unit as well as a hairdryer. Bed linens and clean towels are all provided. The apartment has also portable air conditioning units, autonomous heating and wireless internet to ensure the guests comfort throughout the year.

Thanks to the Roman charm of its central location, the cozy interiors and comfortable furnishings, the Viola apartment is without a doubt an excellent choice for a truly special and authentic stay in the eternal city.

  Very nice appartment, ideal for 2 persons. The Kitchen is very small, but has all the equipment you might need. On the other hand: there are a lot of restaurants just around the corner, so you probably won't need the kitchen anyway.
  I think that for 4 persons the appartment would be a bit small.

  Stayed with my family of four. Really liked the Trastevere area. It has lots of walking streets with restaurants and is only a short walk across the (pedestrian) bridge to the historic center of Rome. The apartment worked great for my family, but might be a little small for four adults. It was a real plus to have the kitchen, laundry, air conditioning and free wifi. It was also great to have the extra space of an apartment over a single room at a hotel. We would definitely return to this apartment.

  The apartment is advertised as being suitable for up to five people, but unless three of them were small children I don't think it would be workable. The space is extremely small and full of ornaments and other decorations that make it seem even smaller.
  
  Everything works well, and the kitchen is perfectly functional for preparing meals using the beautiful produce available a few blocks away at the San Cosimato market. There is good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
  
  We would readily stay at The Viola again as the location is brilliant and the price very reasonable.

  Viola was a lovely, private apartment surrounded by places to eat and drink and an easy walk from everything we wanted to see. The owner was very helpful and friendly to settle us in and help us call a taxi to the airport. I thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a base in Rome.

  We spent a lovely week in this Trastevere apartment, which is conveniently situated halfway between the Vatican and the Colosseum. It is equipped with everything you might possibly need and more. The sofa and beds are comfortable; the decorations tasteful; the atmosphere is cosy, and although street life starts just around the corner it is an oasis of peace and quiet. We are definitely coming back!
