Good exercise in old style apartment

Left on 11/20/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Rome was our last stop for our honeymoon trip. And based on reviews and photos, we decided to go for this apartment.

We had 2 big suitcases and 2 small ones. It was 96 steps to the apartment. Regarding this, we recommend you travel light. Or be prepared for the stairs after you daily walk of Rome.

Location cannot be better! It is right in the centre of everything. In walking distance, we made it to the Colosseum, Borghese Garden and Vatican City.

The market is open everyday from about 7 or 8am till 2 to 3pm. But the apartment is very quiet.

The room has heat/air conditioner. The only thing you might not get as much is privacy with windows open due to no curtains.

The space feels ample due to high ceiling. The only small issue we had was the bathroom towels. It would be better if they were thicker. But it was all personal preference.

One of our other bigger issue was there's no WiFi in the apartment. And to get access to free public WiFi in Rome, you will need an Italian phone number. So that was a little inconvenient to us since we couldn't book anything ahead of time without trying to find an internet cafe.

Booking was very easy and transaction was great.

Overall, we really enjoyed our honeymoon stay here.

Thank you for your review and for your positive comment.
Talking to the owner, she said she will soon set on the missing curtains and most important she will install WI_FI.
Hope to help you soon again.

      Excellent time in old Rome

Left on 12/09/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Taxis were on strike (it happens often we're told) so we had to take public transport and lug our bags nearly 1/2 mile across cobblestones and then up 5 flights. My husband nearly threw his back out. But after the difficult/hot start, things got much better. Rome was amazing.
Great location, walked everywhere, no need for taxis, beautiful apartment, clean and bright, very pleasant hostess, no problems at all.
Would have been perfect except for the fact that the Grotte attic is a fourth floor walk up which actually means five floors in Europe - after walking all day seeing the sights those stairs were very hard to take! One other slight negative: The bed and pillows were very hard - but we were in Italy seven nights and didn't have one soft bed the entire time.

a lovely home, spacious and comfortable... we were woken in the morning by birds calling to each other, not by traffic noise.

At home in center of Rome

Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011

The appartment is the best in my 10 years experience in Roma. My parameters are:
      Campo di Fiori
      Renovated appartment
      Balcony or terras
      This appartment had it all.
The only comments is about the poor noice isolation. Every day, i was awake very early by the sound of the birds! Very frustrating during romantic holiday in Rome. The Windows must be renovated to secure better comfort.
The roof terras is just fantastic

      A great apartment

Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in September 2011

The Grotte attic near Campo di Fiori is a wonderful, well equipped apartment. It is in a perfect location, and the owners were very gracious and hospitable. The apartment has been updated, and it is on the top floor. You can go up to the roof and have a wonderful view of neighborhood rooftops. Just be aware that there is no lift in the building and the apartment is four floors up. There are restaurants nearby as well as a market. We have stayed at apartments in other cities, and this was our favorite.

      Excellent

Left on 04/07/2011 for a stay in March 2011

Excellent space, perfect for 2 (4 would be a serious squeeze), great position, quiet, great views over the roofscapes. We'd come again. we'd live here!

My only objection is that the expensive 'final cleaning cost' was not shown in the rental prices shown online.
