Left on 05/18/2013 for a stay in May 2013
A clean & charming, residence in a great location- to walk the cobbled lane ways near Piazza Navona. You will get lost - but that's half the fun! The cafes (Trattoria's) close by are some of the best and most authentic. Be careful not to pay too much for pastas, and coffees - the prices can be quickly inflated for tourists, even in the most humble of places. Residenza Sansoni is perfect location for exploring the many beautiful churches.. including Chiesa Nuova, the local church. Enjoy the church bells while the sunlight bathes the apartment with natural light through the big old windows...Bus stops nearby, taxi rank at the corner, easy walking to all the sites, great local eating.

Left on 04/30/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We spent four nights here during mid april and the location of this apartment was brilliant. We were able to walk to all of the attractions and we had some of the best restaurants round the corner from us too.
The apartment itself is tastefully decorated and the facilities are great. Apart from the buildings lift which was working at some times of the day but not others!? Abit bizarre.
Olivia is a great too. She came and met us when we arrived and took the time to explain where we were on the map and gave us tips on where to go and where to eat too! This was greatly appreciated especially as this was our first trip to Rome however as we flipped a coin into the Trevi fountain it hopefully won't be out last! -

My husband and I stayed at Residenza Sansoni recently with our 7 month old baby. Olivia provided a portacot, met us at the apartment, gave advice on what to see/do in Rome and where to eat. We ate at all of the restaurants she recommended more than once and the food was excellent. Our favourite was the Trattoria downstairs. Great food, great service, great prices.
The apartment was comfortable, a great size and warm. The kitchen was even stocked with basics like milk, cereal, pastries, biscuits. Rather than carry the pram upstairs we were able to leave it in the basement.

This is a lovely apartment set in a fantastic location in Rome. It's just a few streets from Piazza Navona, on lovely cobbled streets and so central you can easily walk to all the main sites. The apartment is very nicely presented and well equipped and although it was so central it was quiet and we didn't notice any street noise (it is on the second floor). Internet was a little patchy but we were advised to open the wardrobe door which, strangely, helped a lot! The owners were reliable and efficient correspondents and check in and out was exceedingly swift and unfussy. Whilst not cheap by the standards of some other cities, the nightly rate was very good when compared to Rome hotels. Highly recommended.

USAPerfect Location in Rome!
Left on 03/29/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This was my very first time renting an apartment overseas and I was spoiled by the experience. Although I have rented two other apartments already since Rome last month and they have both been terrific, this place and the owners will be very hard to beat. It set the bar very high indeed.
The apartment was in a perfect location, Ten minutes to The Vatican. Right in the heart of Centro Storico. And yet it was very quiet. I simply cannot think of a single suggestion to enhance visitors' experience here, let alone make a complaint. It was perfect.
The apartment was clean, the owners were beyond kind and considerate, and I cannot wait to go back. The internet service needs to be more reliable though, something that is very important to me, especially when I am on my own, as was the case for this stay.
However, I would definitely recommend this apartment with 100% confidence that others will find it as ideally situated, and appealing, as did I.

Left on 01/15/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We stayed here for 1 week during the period of New Year.
The owner, Olivia, was very nice and very obliging. She helped us planning our stay and gave us many advices how we can pass our time in a useful way. She organized us a Pick-Up service, which was absolutely punctual and very nice. She also organized us a Tour called "Roma di segreta", and we saw churches, which were in the underground. It was very interesting. And the Touristguide spoke german, which was very good for us. The apartment was beautiful and clean and we had enough space for 2 persons. In front of the apartment is a very nice restaurant, where we spend New Year.
From the apartment you can go everywhere by foot, to the Vatican it takes 10 minutes, to Piazza Venezia 15 minutes,to the Colosseo 20 minutes, Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Navona where in front of the apartment (you only need 2 minutes to get there.)If you don't like to walk, its also no problem, because the bus stop is also only a few meters away (also a supermarket)
I would absolutely recommend this nice apartment =)
Thanks to Olivia, who was very nice to us and who made our stay perfect!

Have stayed at several other apartments in Rome and this is by far the best location! Literally in the middle of everything you want to see, yet very quiet! We were very pleased with our week long stay at Residenza Sansoni. The apartment is centrally located in the heart of Rome, with transportation close by. The neighborhood is packed with artisan shops and cafes; we felt very safe. Walk to the Vatican in 10 minutes! Great cafes abound, especially al Braciere, located on the ground floor of the apartment building. Olivia was wonderful: she answered our email queries promptly; arranged our transportation from the airport and offered many helpful tips. The apartment was clean and comfortable (including the beds) with a large bathroom and efficient, well stocked kitchenette.
We look forward to our next stay at Residenza Sansoni and would highly recommend this apartment to friends and family.

This studio is the perfect location for every Rome journey. We were able to easily walk to the Vatican, Colliseum, Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon and Piazza Navonna are quite close by. The 40 and 64 bus are super easy to jump on if you don't feel like walking to everything.
The studio is up a number of steep steps, not terrible, but the elderly/infirm may want to look elsewhere. The kitchen is in a small closet, but has everything for a light snack.
The bathroom was awesome. I wish she had a few comfy chairs instead of an ottoman, but we were out so much, it really didn't matter.
Olivia was lovely and helpful. It was very quiet and a perfect place. I'd recommend it. -

The apartment Residenza Sansoni was perfect for our stay in Rome. The street was fairly quiet and totally quiet after around 11-12 through the night (we stayed Thurs - Mon). The location could not be beat for walking access to all the sights and restaurants. The area right behind the apartment was one of my favorites in Rome for the shops and restaurants. The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable, and Olivia was so helpful and friendly! The stairs (2nd floor no lift is more like 4-5 shorter flights) make it harder for some, but we walked so much over the course of our trip, a few more steps hardly mattered. We would highly recommend this apartment!

Residenza Sansoni is the perfect place! The location is just off Piazza Nuova and is central to all the major sites you will want to visit(10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum and the Vatican), and has many restaurants and eateries surrounding it. My husband and I stayed in the studio apartment; it was spacious for 2 with a very comfortable queen size bed and would accommodate 4 easily with the convertible couch. The room was very cute, clean, and functional. The bathroom is luxurious, spacious, and includes a hairdryer and large towels. The closet-style kitchen is perfect for the space, includes a mini-fridge, microwave, and sink, and is stocked with various breakfast foods and utensils. Olivia is very sweet and helpful with transportation and food recommendations and anything else that you need. The restaurant at the entrance, Al Braciere, is not only incredibly delicious, but the staff is also very nice and helpful too. If you are looking for a 5-star accommodation at a great value this is the place! We are ready to visit Italy again as soon as we can and know exactly where we want stay in Rome. Mille grazie Olivia!

We had the most amazing time in Rome, which was helped greatly by staying at Residenza Sansoni. The perfect location for exploring the small streets of Rome. A few minutes walk from the amazing Piazza Navona, a short walk to the Pantheon and then a nice walk to the Trevi Fountain. Everything was in easy reach for us. In the other direction the Vatican and Castel St angelo are really close too.
The apartment itself is just gorgeous. Decorated tastefully, modern but with a hint of old as it is in a very old building. Air conditioning kept us cool, the kithenette area was great for making tea/coffee, keeping some snacks in the fridge and Olivia generously leaves some provision for breakfast.
The apartment is spotless and we checked in very easily.
We highly recommend Residenza Sansoni for so many reasons. Olivia also is very helpful during the booking process and will answer any questions via email very quickly which is reassuring when booking a holiday.
Thank you Olivia, we hope to return!

This is a great apartment for the independent traveler looking for a no-frills apartment that is quiet and convenient. There is a small kitchenette, but for me the key points were that bed was firm, the hot water reliable, the air conditioner in good working order. Best of all, the location is fantastic, and you're a do-able walk from the Vatican, the Colosseum, and many of the museums in the historic center of Rome. There's a small supermarket nearby, along with great restaurants, and Olivia was very helpful in getting us settled in.

Left on 08/18/2012 for a stay in April 2012
My husband and I (2 thirtysomething australians from NYC) stayed at Residenza Sansoni for 5 nights in april during our first trip to Italy. Olivia's apartment was the only apartment we rented in Italy, choosing to rent the studio based on price, location, newness of renovations and space as most the reasonably priced hotels rooms sounded quite small and old. We had a terrific stay - the apartment is very clean, had all of the amenities we wanted, was comfortable and the location in the cobble stone streets near Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Campo de Fiori was perfect. All sights including the Vatican and Roman Forum are within walking distance, buses and cabs are also readily available. There is a cab stand at the end of the small lane way making travel to airport easy as there are always cabs waiting and there is no need to book. Restaurants in the area are inexpensive, quaint and seem to be frequented by locals, especially the trattoria downstairs from the apartment. The shopping in the area was also quite good and had a more independent feel to the Italian designer high street shopping elsewhere in Rome. Meeting Olivia upon arrival into Rome was an extra benefit - local advice, tips and hints. We look forward to staying at again Sansoni next time we return to Rome.

We were very happy with our stay here for a week in July 2012.
The location could not be better. Easy walk to any location in Rome. Clean and well kept apartment.
My only complaint is that I had to physically be in the closet to use Wifi. If Wifi is important for your trip (ie: you have to do work while traveling), this specific apartment may not be for you.
The apartment is up several sets of stairs.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hope to travel here again to Residenza Sansoni.
Olivia was great and arranged out transportation to/from the apartment for us. Ciao, Olivia!

Thank you Jeremy, we work hard for making our guests stay the more comfortable possible! Of course we can manage everything that depend on our possibility!
In the city centre, in the very heart of Rome, as Residenza Sansoni is, can happen that WiFi doesn't work so fast - but it works, and that is important !. Very old and large wall of our building (since 1600 a.C.), small street of our town are what tourists looking for in Rome but... sometimes these peculiarities became a limit for modern lifestyle!
Hope to see you again next time in Rome.
ciao and Grazie!!

Our family of 4 stayed at Residenza Sansoni for 2 nights. The apartment was clean, reasonably quiet, and in a great location. Very close to Piazza Navona (great!), Pantheon (great!). Only downside is it's not near metro station, but bus stop is right at the end of the street - very convenient. Bank with aTM also right down the block. While not spacious for 4, it was certainly workable, and a great value. Residenza Sansoni - represents the ideal accommodation in Rome for weekend or short holidays. Apartment (studio type) is truly situated in historical centre of Rome. All main city attractions are within 20-30 minutes walk distance. The nearest decent Italian restaurant is located just next door. The nearest grocery store is one block away (apartment has a small kitchen facility). 24 hour taxi station is also few steps away (ride to/from airport will cost you 40 Euro). There is only one disadvantage: sometimes you can hear distant noise from the restaurant below - can be a problem for a light sleeper. Still I have rated Residenza Sansoni as "Excellent” - it is definitely worth its money. I would highly recommend this apartment for the people who want to explore Rome on their own and don't want to stick to the luxury of expensive hotels.

This apartment was perfect for my daughter and I during our 4 day stay in Rome. Location was wonderful! In the heart of Rome, we were walking distance to Piazza Navona, the Vatican, and other key areas. There was a bus stop less than a block away for other attractions.
Newly remodeled when we arrived, it was well-appointed and sparkling clean. The bathroom was modern and efficient, and the kitchenette had been very well thought out for any need we might have. The high ceilings made the roorm feel spacious, and there is even a clothes line outside the window where we could hang a few handwashables that needed doing.
Olivia was warm and gracious when she met us at the door, and made sure that we had everything we needed. As others have mentioned, there is a steep climb up stone stairs to the room, but once we had lugged our bags up, we were fine for the four days we stayed.
With the windows open, you could hear the busy cafe below, and the church bells, but this was not a bother to us, it added to the charm of Rome! And there was a delightful trattatoria just outside the front door of the building that had the best bruschetta we had in Rome - we came back three times just to get it again!
Overall, I have not one complaint about this apartment. I would definitely choose to stay here again, over a hotel, due to our experience. Plan on reserving it on my next trip to Rome, hopefully in 2013! -

Spent almost 2 weeks in in Italy, mostly in Rome. Wonderful city, wonderful people, wonderful food. When in Rome do consider going to cupola in St Peter's Basilica and reserving the excavation tours under the basilica, two highlights of our visit. If you have never been you should really consider Italy in general and Rome in particular. Rented apartments in Rome (2X), Florence and Venice. I highly recommend apartments as a better and more cost effective solution to hotels. Stayed at Residenza Sansoni at the end of my Italy trip. Olivia's place was comfortable, clean and as convenient to all the sights as you could ask. The bathroom, in particular, was large, clean and modern. Somewhat unusual for Italy as many can be cramped. The apartment accommodated 3 persons comfortably. Olivia is a friendly person who is highly conversant in English. Olivia also communicated quite regularly through e-mail leading up to our arrival. You should also check out the restaurant next door, highly recommended. You should not hesitate for a moment if you are considering Olivia's place. A few words of advice: Be on the lookout for taxi strikes. We experienced this both on arrival and departure dates. Check before you leave and leave enough time to get to airport if the strike is on. Persons with handicaps or disabilities should note that this apartment is up 3 flights of stairs. Italy in general is not conducive to persons with disabilities, not like the USa.

What a fantastic apartment! If anything, it is under-advertised. The location (just a minute or two walking from Piazza Navona) cannot be beaten. It's a beautiful apartment right in the heart of the city. This place is as central as you can get. I loved staying here. The apartment is elegant and very clean. It comes with a very large bathroom, a kitchenette, a true double-bed that is sooo soft and comfy. It has just about everything you might need for a vacation in Roma, including free wifi.
Olivia was wonderful. The sweet bread she brought for me from her farm was amazing! It saved me when I woke up with jet lag the first morning. She was available to answer all my questions via email. Upon arrival, she met me at the apartment with no problems and even recommended some great places to eat in the neighborhood. And what a neighborhood it is! It just doesn't get better than this.
This apartment is incredible value for the location and the quality of the premises. The bathroom has a gorgeous vessel bowl sink. I would recommend this apartment without hesitation to anyone wanting to enjoy Rome from the heart of the historical center.
It is not for people who have difficulty navigating stairs, since there are a few flights to get up to the apartment. You can pick up the 40 bus right in front of Chiesa Nuova. This is unbelievably convenient for getting around Rome when you are tired. It will take you to Termini Station via Piazza Venezia or to St. Peter's Square, depending on which direction it is heading. It will also drop you off right in front of the church at the end of the day.
I visited Italy for 5 weeks this winter and stayed in several apartments. This one was by far the best value and my favorite. I would definitely stay here again.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, Olivia. I hope to see you again soon.Response from Olivia Sansoni - 01/28/2012

My daughter, having just studied in Rome, chose this apartment for its perfect location. It was that and much more. The apt. is on a lovely little lane with a wonderful restaurant next to it. The bus system is amazing and a stop is just a few steps from the apt. We had an easy time getting everywhere. The apt. itself is clean and well stocked. Olivia had a refridg full of goodies to welcome us. The only problem I could ever see with this apt. is that you need to climb a couple flight of stairs to get to it. It was no problem for us, but could be for others. Olivia helped my daughter, who arrived at the apt. earlier than us, haul her luggage up the stairs. Olivia was very efficient and helpful. Thank you to Olivia for a wonderful stay.

A small but lovely apartment situated perfectly for walking to most of the main attractions. Olivia was very friendly and helpful. She had even baked us a dessert for our first night. One great thing about this apartment was it had a supply of tea, coffee, breakfast stuff etc which was great as we only had 2 days of our holiday left so having to buy all that would have been a waste. There was a lively restaurant downstairs where we had a really nice meal. If you are a light sleeper who goes to bed early it would pay to have earplugs as you could hear the talking and laughing from the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here in Italy for 2 weeks with a 2 night stay in Rome at this apartment. Have to say this was our favorite stay out of the other cities we visited! Very close to a taxi stand, made it very easy to get around the city. The apartment was very clean and modern. Felt like we were true guests! I would not hesitate to come back here next time we visit Rome.

I would stay here again. Olivia was a great hostess-she gave me thoughtful recommendations and a nice orientation upon arrival. I was traveling alone, stayed 9 nights in October and returned 1 afternoon to find a really good cake outside my door with a nice note from Olivia. I liked being able to have breakfast at home before heading out for the day, and I bought some cheese, fruit and wine for occasions when I wanted to stay in. The apartment is on the third floor of a nice building and has a wonderful modern bathroom-the shower stall is a bit small (and I'm not big) but they were in Florence and Venice too. The apartment was perfectly situated-I walked to the Villa Borghese in less than 45 minutes at a relaxed pace for a tour. There is a good restaurant just outside the apartment building, and there are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby, including the Hotel Raphael, which has a nice (and windy) rooftop bar where they'll give you a blanket if they see you're cold. I do note that I was never able to get wi-fi but that didn't detract from my stay.

Olivia was wonderful to deal with and we will definitely stay there again in the future.

I can only echo all the other positive reviews. A well-appointed and spotlessly clean studio with kitchenette and bathroom in a historic building. Basics for breakfast provided. Olivia was so welcoming and helpful when we arrived. There is a pleasant trattoria right by the entrance. Piazza Navona and a Carrefour Express only a couple of minutes away. Walkable to all the main areas, so little need for public transport. It was an oasis of calm after the noise and crowds of the city.

I must admit the place we stayed couldn't be located better - most of the places of interest are within the walking distance. Even though we were with our 4 year old daughter we haven't ever used any transport.
The room itself is well-decorated, clean and spacious. The ceiling height is impressive - about 5 meters so as their appearance - something like stained wood. The kitchen corner is fully equipped enabling you to cook something if you wish to. As for us we used it just for breakfasts.
Welcome cake was pleasant and tasty surprise, thank you Olivia. We would love to be back. -

A beautiful flat-well decorated and providing everything that we needed and more. An excellent kitchen corner and lovely bathroom. An ideal sitauation-close to all the sites, but still quiet-we slept very well. It was extremely useful to have so much provided for breakfast-including homemade cake! Olivia gave us a warm welcome. Try the restaurant downstairs-it was very good.
We did find the photos on the website confusing as the two appartments are very similar. However, we would love to stay there again-it really made our holiday perfect. -

I found this apartment by using google and really hit upon a bit of a gem. The location is excellent you can walk to nearly all of the main attractions. Olivia is a really lovely woman, arranged to meet us to check in even though it was late enough at night and gave us helpful directions to the apartment.
The apartment itself was spotless, comfortable bed, really lovely shower and very modern which I like. The only slight fault was that it doesn't have a view and feels a little boxed in but Im sure that's not unusual it Rome and you don't go on holidays to sit in the apartment.
Olivia recommended the restaurant downstairs and I had read good things about it but we went one night and it was really really terrible, I ordered prawns and got a massive portion of those really cheap frozen prawns and when we asked about the discount Olivia had mentioned they never put it through and we didn't want to be rude about it but it left me with a bad feeling.
We meet friends who were paying nearly twice as much for a hotel which was not in a good location so we were delighted with ourselves. Thank you to Olivia for making our stay so enjoyable, big thumbs up and highly recommend, will insist on my family and friends staying here if they go to Rome, it really is a gem. -

Location is simply fantastic!! On a quiet street in the center of city (very close to Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon and so on), there is the apartment, basic but with all you can need for a pleasant stay (the small kitchen was perfect for preparing snacks for my child) and to come back every night
I will use it again also for my business travels due to central position and also for the amusing chances offered by the local area with good places to eat/drink (restaurants and wine bars).
Special thanks is for Olivia, who is more than an owner: she gave us a lot of suggestions, good ideas to have an insider's view of Rome (not just as a tourist) and also a very nice touch in check in and check out. -

Had a wonderful week here recently, The location is perfect, very very close to Castel Sant'Angelo/St Peters/Piazza Navona (ie about a 5 minute walk) and within 15 minutes of the Trevi fountain, Piazza del Popolo & Spanish Steps. The area which houses the Forum/Colosseum etc is a 20 minute stroll away
The apartment is basic but very nice, the air-con is a godsend and the small kitchen was perfect for preparing snacks for our young family. Also the restaurant next door is lovely and very reasonably priced. Theres a supermarket 30 seconds away and another 5 minutes away and theres a bus stop & taxi rank at the end of the road.
I've already recommended this apartment to a family member and would not hesitate to book again. Thanks Olivia! -

Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My girlfriend and I stayed here in mid-August. It's a lovely flat with beautiful high beamed ceilings that's nicely decorated. The geographical location is wonderful - right in the centre of Rome and within walking distance (i.e. half an hour) of the Vatican, Piazza Del Popolo, the Colosseum, Trastavere, etc. It's near to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona in a pretty area of backstreets. The local area is somewhat touristy but there are good places to eat/drink if you search around.
The flat was stocked with breakfast materials, cakes and a few other tidbits on arrival, which we thought was a nice touch.
It had a slight issue with ants (hence the amount of ant powder on the floor) but this wasn't something that bothered us. The internet was also erratic - the wireless signal was poor and difficult to pick up.
Olivia was consistent helpful and great at getting in touch before arrival.Response from Olivia Sansoni - 09/08/2011

We fought hard with ants ..but we won!
The fuse was a jar of yogurt left under the bed from a careless guest ...yogurt and sultry heat of August was an explosive mix!

The apartment was fantastic. Indeed on a quiet street with a fun restaurant next door and a grocery store not 5 minutes away. It was a wonderful place to come back to to relax every night. Having aC was a nice plus, the only inconvenient thing was the internet access, spotty at best. Olivia was great, she was there to meet me and show me around the building. She even had printed out some information on shops and restaurants she recommended in the area to give me more of an insider's knowledge of Rome. A perfect place for a couple or pair of friends to stay. Would most definitely stay there again should I get the chance!

We felt like we really lucked out with this apartment -- it really is a find! We were four women traveling together, and even those among us with sleeping problems slept soundly and comfortably. The apartment has super-high ceilings and feels light and modern, with some historical touches of wood and stone. We were within walking distance to everything, which was the most important thing to us. We would highly recommend this apartment for two people, or four friends without personal-space issues. The only reason we couldn't give a higher "comfort" rating was that the hot-water heater was apparently broken during our stay, which made showers...complicated. We understand, though, that the problem was addressed upon our exit, and would not hesitate to book a stay here again! Great value for a great apartment!
One more "fair warning" issue: the climb to the apartment is up two steep flights of stone stairs. Pack lightly, or bring strong people to carry your bags! -

She gave us recommendations of places to eat (and got us discounts) and helped us navigate the bus system. Our apartment was centrally located, we were within walking distance of the Vatican! The area is very safe to come back to late at night and right next to a taxi rank and bus stops. The apartment is very clean and has comfortable accomodations. The air conditioning is very cool and the shower water is hot. Everything I needed was in the apartment. The kitchen area had everything needed to cook a meal. But why cook a meal when there is a restaurant with good food right next door! Even despite this the area is still quiet. When I return to Rome I will be staying here!

This is the perfect apartment if you want an authentic Roman experience. In a vibrant neighborhood full of galleries, shops, bakeries, cafes, and restaurants -- not to mention a short stroll to Piazza Navona and easy access to many other sites -- this apartment is in one of the best locations in Rome! The apartment is absolutely beautiful -- soaring ceilings, huge windows, a beautiful bathroom, and functional kitchen. It is in a beautiful old building with many original details.
The restaurant right next to the apartment building has the best pizza I had during my month in Italy, and there are too many great cafes to choose from to list. If you want to live like a Roman, do not hesitate booking this apartment. And, Olivia is great...very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. She has great suggestions for places to eat and things to do, and was quick to respond to my emails before, during, and after our stay. I will definitely stay again if I am luck enough to return! -

This was our first holiday apartment rental experience, and from start to finish it all went perfectly. Olivia promptly responded to my emails and represented herself and the apartment accurately. She offered us directions and was waiting for us upon our arrival. The check in was fast and easy, yet informative and long enough to give us a chance to meet and get a positive impression of one another. She showed us where we were and where some of the top spots were on a map, shared with us any pertinent information, gave us some discount cards for a few restaurants, and then left us to it.
The apartment was smaller than I'd expected (it's a studio apartment), but certainly big enough for the two of us. Clearly, it's recently been renovated, and everything from the furnishing to the linens was done extremely beautifully. The location was ideal: right in the heart of the city, right next to Chiesa Nuova. We were both extremely pleased with the apartment and our stay there and would return in a heartbeat -- highly recommended. -
