A spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with private pool that overlooks one of the freshwater canals in Rotonda West. This home is well equipped to sleep 6.
The large great room includes the living room with sliders to the lanai area, formal dining room, kitchen and nook area. The master bedroom has a king bed, sliders to the pool area and an en-suite bathroom with shower and separate tub. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and bedroom 3 has twin beds. January - March 2013. Everything was clean, well-equipped and in good repair upon our arrival. Nicely furnished and decorated, with comfortable beds (the king mattress in the master was great). Nice outside amenities - comfy patio furniture, pool toys, brand new BBQ, bicycles, picnic cooler, and beach chairs. There were nice flat screen Tv's in the living area, as well as each bedroom. For travelers with young children,there was a high chair, collapsible stroller, cot, and toys.
We loved the quiet neighborhood and privacy, with empty lots on both sides and a canal at the back, which afforded us viewing of a wide variety of wildlife, including alligators, turtles, jumping fish, egrets, herons, osprey and other birds, as well as several sightings of bobcats. The pool has both solar heating (included) and electric ($85 a week) - we just used the solar and the temp got up into the high 80's F during good weather.
The area is great - much quieter and less traffic than larger communities - and very close to wonderful beaches with plenty of free parking. Rotonda is 5 mins from Englewood with lots of restaurants and shopping, and is midway between Port Charlotte (20 mins) and Venice (15 mins). Lots of golf courses, including 5 directly in Rotonda. Port Charlotte Sports Park is 15 mins away, is home to the Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training baseball games, and is a really nice modern facility. Lots to do and see.
The booking process was efficient and straightforward, and we especially appreciated the quick responsive service we received from the property management company, Place in the Sun, when there were maintenance issues that arose. For example, when the fridge needed to be replaced, they provided a temporary one and the new one arrived 2 days later.
The only negative was that there was not a recliner easy chair in the living area, which we would have enjoyed. Overall, a relaxing and comfortable stay. Thanks for everything.
