Roundstone is a beautiful fishing village in Connemara, with Errisbeg Hill to the north and a sheltered harbour at it's centre. Roundstone has long attracted visitors to the white sandy beaches of Dogs Bay & Gurteen to the west of the village.
The Cottage is decorated in a comfortable, traditional style and enjoys sea and island views over the Award winning Dogs Bay Beach. Relax in the evenings enjoying a real fire in the solid fuel stove. In The Irish Times Newspaper March 2nd 2013, Conor Pope wrote ' Swims in the emerald water that washes over the white strands of Dog's Bay and Gurteen are more invigorating, and walks over the damp green hills, speckled with yellow heathers, are more bracing.'
The Cottage is located 3 miles from Roundstone Fishing Village in the heart of beautiful Connemara, overlooking the Ocean, Beach and Islands. Situated at the foot of Errisbeg Hill, it is rural and peaceful. There is a Golf Links Course 15 minutes drive away and Clifden the capital town of Connemara is also 15 minutes drive. Explore stunning Coastal or Bog & Lake Drives or take a Ferry for a day out onto one of the many Islands nearby. Pony trekking, Pitch & Putt, Connemara National Park, Fishing and great Restaurants are easily accessible from the cottage. Sometimes you can see Dolphins playing in Dogs Bay!

It is difficult to write anything negative about this cottage an it stunning surroundings. This is really one of the best places in the worl for a holiday. If you want to get away from the hustle an bustle of the city life then go right ahead and book. We have spent two wonderfull holidays here.It´s become our home from home. The cottage has every amenity needed and you can appreciate the thought and care that has gone into making it as comfortable as possible for the guests from around the world.On a chilly evening there is nothing nicer than sitting at the fireplace an enjoying a glass of wine ( or two) However, on a warmer evening, sitting on the deck provides magnificant views of Dogs Bay Beach-truly out of this world.It`s not at all a problem to take day trips an discover the beauty and magic of this part of the world. The scenery is spectacular

For many years we are visiting Ireland. The cottage and the surroundings are our most favourite place. The house has a very special spirit.The atmosphere is comfortable and invites to relax. We enjoy the beaches and the town nearby.
The sight out of the windows especially the kitchens window is tremendous. Sometimes it´s possible to see dolphins out in the sea.

This cottage is where I dream to be when I'm at work and feeling dull and miserable! The cottage is wonderful, the views to die for and Yvonne is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. We have now been on six occasions and if I could live there, I would! My only worry is that this well kept secret will get out and then the wonderful solitude and silence of Dogs Bay will disappear. If you want to spoil yourself and immerse yourself in the magic of Connemara, go for it. You will not be disappointed and will come back feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world!
