Brooklyn, NYPeace, Quiet and a touch of luxury!
Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in September 2012
A few friends and I rented this house for the weekend as we were in Roxbury for a wedding at Stone Tavern Farm (10 minute drive). The house is fabulous - a full kitchen, comfy cabin style furniture, dishwasher, washer/dryer, large back deck with a hammock, hot tub and a view! (you are up on a hill). I would recommend this to anyone looking for peace and quiet with all the amenities. It was perfect for a group our size (6 adults). Although one bedroom is a bunk room (sleeps 4), there is a sunroom off to the side of the main floor with a queen size futon (just bring your eye shades if you plan to use this as it has no curtains and lots of windows). I highly recommend!!! ps. the cafe in town (at the end of the street/bottom of the hill) has great food and is very inexpensive.

NYA mountain of relaxation
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in June 2012
It's over, you need search no more. This cabin is where you will unwind. My Girlfriend and I had hopes of slowing it all down and we did. We are both used to taking our days and filling them with things to do, but here we found ourselves to be fine just staring out towards the opposite side of the mountain and taking in the air. When we could pull ourselves from the view or the hot tub we found day trips with many a nook and cranny to satisfy our curiosities for the week. It was easy for us to choose this property over others; the photos are accurate. What we could not have known was that Bill and Heidi are the best to deal with-courteous, prompt, kind and honest. They provided us things we didn't even know we needed. This Cabin is perfect for two as well as two plus friends or family. Save yourself the time and shoot Bill and Heidi a line, you wont regret it.

We traveled to Roxbury, NY for a family wedding. The house was conveniently situated near the wedding and rehearsal locations. It was great to have the family together with room to relax in the hot tub on the deck, enjoy the beautiful views, and relax in between events. We did have some difficulty navigating the drive up to the house...a few crazy drivers tried to pass us as we were trying to turn into the driveway. Overall our stay was all we could have expected if not more. Would love to see the colors in the fall.

Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Great getaway cabin - lots of space for a group! We went with 4 couples and it was the perfect weekend escape. A great campfire area to toast marshmallows, beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, a great hot tub looking out at the sunset and a huge kitchen for cooking yummy meals! Great spot! The owners were a pleasure to deal with - wonderful communication and great tips!

Brooklyn, NYwon't soon forget this cabin trip
Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in September 2011
What an amazing experience! Went w/ group of friends from the city and was blown away upon arrival. The cabin holds every amenity you would want, though the focus is the charm of the build; a very well designed space. And more than enough of it! The hot tub was an amazing addition. The grill saw non-stop use as we whipped up some memorable meals. Then, sitting by the campfire, counting how many shooting stars we could see (upwards of ten in one hr!) In the morning, being surprised by friends who woke early to pick berries, sharing their bounty.
Red Falls left our group dizzy w pleasure. What an amazing amazing waterfall, located 20 mins from the cabin. You cannot beat that.
It was a difficult time to be in Upstate NY following Hurricane Irene. From talking to locals, viewing the devastation, and volunteering the time we could, it's amazing the enduring spirit that folks have in the time of crisis. I fell in love w/ upstate NY on this trip. I look forward to coming back to the cabin, again and again. A real treat. -

Our family had a great vacation and hated to leave. The cabin was wonderful- great cabin decor, berry picking, star gazing, relaxing in the hot tub and great views. Centrally located near fishing and hiking areas, as well as, restaurants.

NY (Australian)Nature-lovers chill-out log cabin with stunning views
Left on 08/19/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This cabin is as good as the photo both inside and out. A beautiful wooded setting near sleepy Roxbury NY is a great place to unwind, enjoy the hot tub with gorgeous views, grills, bonfires and S'mores and lovely hiking trails. As a NY Times review of Roxbury notes this is a 'make your own fun' kind of place so that is what we and our 8 and 5 y.old did. Loved the historic Ulster and Delaware railroad ride, Peekamoose restaurant (impossible to get through on phone but just turned up and ate in the casual Tap Room
bar) and got lucky with the annual Phoenicia music festival half an hour's drive away. Oh and the Saturday farmers' market 10 minutes away at Pakatakan in the historic round barn had yummy treats.
The cabin itself is well equipped, including dishwasher, coffeemaker, 2 bathrooms, DVD, gorgeous master mezzanine bedroom with views literally over the clouds as you wake up and two other roomy bedrooms in the lower ground floor.
The well water and septic tank means you need to go easy on water use but for nature lovers who want to care for the environment that is a good discipline. Highly recommended!

Queens, NYAbsolutelly loved it
Left on 08/01/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Honestly, I was reluctant to leave review, I'd rather keep the secret about this place. Lovely cabin, cozy, warm, has evrything you wish for. We stayed there twice - in January and July. The views are breathtaking. Tons of wild raspberries and blackberries on the property. Lots of things to do in the area, in any season. Our kids and dog loved it. Can't wait to come back!

Brooklynan absolutely perfect mountain getaway
Left on 07/18/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My friends and I have rented this gorgeous house two years running now, in June and July respectively, and are completely in love with it! The pictures don't do justice to how large, beautifully maintained and charming the space is. It combines the rustic charm of a log cabin with all of the conveniences of a modern house: a beautiful deck and hot tub, gorgeous lighting, a sound system, interior fireplace and fire pit/chiminea outdoors and a dream kitchen. It is perfect down to the tiniest details and I would(and do!) strongly recommend it to all of my friends.

Brooklyn, NYWeekend Getaway
Left on 11/26/2010 for a stay in September 2010
This was our second trip to this cabin and it was again amazing. The cabin itself is gorgeous, clean and well-furnished. There's plenty of room to sleep 8 comfortably and we were allowed to bring our dogs! We used the bbq, hot tub, fireplace, washer and dryer and everything was fantastic. My friends and I intend to go back every year and would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to others!

New YorkBeautiful mountain retreat
Left on 11/22/2010 for a stay in November 2010
My friends and I rented this cabin for a weekend getaway from NYC. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The cabin is beautifully decorated in a charming rustic style, while still containing all the modern amenities you might need such as a high-end stove, washer and dryer, microwave, coffee maker, bbq grill, etc. We especially enjoyed the outdoor hot tub which was clean and functioned perfectly. Original artwork by one of the owner's talented family member was hung around the house and added a welcomed personal touch. The mountain views are spectacular! We're definitely coming back for another stay.
