Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with an open dining area that sets eight. The living area offers a wood burning fireplace, a large screen TV and stereo system. We were at Eagles Nest in Winter 2008, and it was one of the best winter vacation home we've ever rented. So much that in 2011, when we wanted to go back to Ruidoso, I still remembered the name of the rental house and searched for it again.
The house is nested in a more secluded area of Ruidoso. However, Ruidoso is so tiny, it takes about 10-15 minutes for you to reach anywhere. It was wet, rainy, and snowy on the day we got there, and the maneuvering on the small windy curvy roads got everyone a bit overexcited. Once we got to the house though, it was just beautiful. We could just have cooped up in the house the whole week and it still would be fun.
The house has a very warm and homey. The bedrooms are tucked away from the living area so that we got both quietness and rest times while the gatherings were still on full blast in the living room. That was very important to us since we had small children that needed to sleep early.
The view, again, was breathtaking. Yet the kids wanted to play outside more than enjoying the views, and there weren't a lot of room for that. The terrain is quite steep around the house.
It's a short drive from the house to the ski area turnoff. We had to be careful about backing out on the street due to the terrain and how wet and snowy it was on the days we were there.
All other amenities in the house were very good.
