Garey’s Deer Haven is a slice of woodsy paradise perched on a ridge just 3 miles from downtown Ruidoso. The two car garage allows interior access to the house. Living quarters are all laid out on one level with a comfortable living room/dining area at the center. The guest rooms offer queen beds. The master has a nice queen with a private bathroom. Enjoy the quality outdoor living through a sliding door to the large deck. It is furnished with an outdoor patio set, a gas grill and a great hot tub for that relaxing soak in complete privacy. We absolutely loved our stay at Garey's. The house was perfect for our family's ski trip for spring break. We looked forward to coming "home" each night for dinner and some relaxation in the hot tub. Our girls (ages 12 and 8) loved all the deer activity. One night we had 12 deer at the cabin all at the same time! The house had everything we needed and was adorably decorated. The split floor plan was perfect for our group. The only things I can even think about for improvement (and these are really no biggies) would be (i) to add blinds to the kitchen and master bath windows (ii) the matresses were a bit hard, even the kiddos complained, and (iii) the water temperature was difficult to regulate while showering. We had a great time and loved Ruidoso and Garey's Deer Haven.

All of us really enjoyed staying at Deer Haven. It was clean and big with lots of space for my two grandkids to relax and have snacks. It had the comforts of being in our home. We enjoyed having the kitchen and washer and dryer. The kids enjoyed seeing the deer and turkeys come to the back porch every morning.

What a great time this was, the house was awesome, situated on a hill so make sure you have 4X4 or all wheel drive or you wont make it up in the snow. Kids had a great time feeding the deer and exploring the wooded yard. the Fire place set the mood for us everyday and made the living room the meeting place for our entire family. feeding the deer was another great experience for my kids, thank you for having the feed there. We had some issues with the garage door opener not working, the hard water making the dishwasher useless (highly recommend a water softener) and the master bedroom needed the space heaters to stay warm at night, but all of those things were easily overlooked. I would recommend Garey's Cabin to all as an excellent place to stay! Since we visit Ruidoso about every other year, it is high on our list for a repeat!

We had a wonderful time staying at Garey's Deer Haven. The cabin is beautiful and very cozy. Short drive to Ski apache or back to town to shop. The only complaint we had was after a long day of skiing we wanted to soak our sore muscles in the hot tub, but it wouldn't get hot enough to sit in until 2 days later. The deer would come right up to the back door, the kids loved that. Can't wait to go back!

We really enjoyed staying at Gary's deer Haven it was a wonderful weekend a wonderful experience enjoying the deer in the backyard and the turkey and just such a really nice good getaway home clean and very well-kept

This was our 3rd summer to stay at Garey's Deer Haven, and it truly feels comfortable to be there. It's secluded enough for privacy and quiet times, yet close enough to town to eat out, etc. We love the back porch for its serenity and for deer watching. The hot tub is a nice bonus! And, having wireless internet and allowing pets makes it the perfect spot for our family! We hope to return in 2013!

We had a great time. The location was perfect - close to the ski slopes. At the same time we had privacy and enjoyed deer and turkeys in the morning. There were three bedrooms and five TVs - we did not have to fight for th eremote!!! The hot tub was very much appreciated after a day of skiing.
