Beautiful Modern Home on the River

Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in May 2013

Came up with a group for my 30th birthday and couldn't have asked for a more amazing rental. The house was impeccable, kitchen stocked with every item you could imagine to cook with, clean and well decorated. It was heaven once we walked through the door. We have already booked another stay!

Wow! It's a beautiful dream come true.

Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013

I stayed with eight other women for four fun, very comfortable nights in March. The beds were lusciously cozy, everyones room and Bath very clean, kitchen was open and easy to share with four chefs, fireplace easy to operate and used morning and night. The outdoor places to read, talk, hang out were varied and private from any neighbors. The kayaks were easy to access. I would recommend this villa highly and return without hesitation. Thank you Villa Habana!

      Wonderful family Thanksgiving

Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in November 2012

I rented Villa Habana so that my family could get together for Thanksgiving. We were 9 adults and 1 child and 1 infant. It was tremendous to have a table that we could all gather at for Thanksgiving dinner.

We all loved the location of the house. Every morning we would wake to a foggy river but then the sum would clear away the fog. We all enjoyed the beautiful views from every window. The hammock and the swing overlooking the river gave us places to get away from the crowd and read. The loacation meant we had so much variety open with just a short ride: the coast, the redwoods and wineries. Our golfers enjoyed the beautiful Northwood course just down the road and the seaside course in Bodega Bay.

The three levels of the house and the cottage worked well for us. We used the ground floor for those who wanted to rise early, the middle level for getting together and the the top level for those who stayed up late and slept late. And the cottage for the young couple that wanted to be away. We found everything we needed for our Thanksgiving dinner in the house. We cooked the turkey on the gas grill so we could use the oven.

Sometimes you find that the great pictures on the website don't match reality. In this case, reality was even nicer.

I hesitated about renting because of previous comments about road noise. While it was there it was truly never a bother. Somehow it seemed to be just a part of the experience of the house.

This was a truly relaxing, enjoyable and relaxing vacation for everyone of us and the location, layout, and furnishings helped make that possible.

A little piece of paradise surrounded by redwoods.

Left on 11/05/2012 for a stay in September 2012

This was a family get together that we had been planning for quite sometime. Four of us came in from Michigan, and met with family from southern California to do some wine tasting in Sonoma. Upon arriving at the house we were amazed just by the property itself. When we entered the home, we knew this was going to be more than adequate to accommodate the 10 of us. The house was clean, and tastefully decorated and supplied with everything we needed for our three night stay. The river was awesome and we took advantage of the canoes. I wish we had more time to enjoy the water. The hot tub was great! I hope someday we can return and stay for at least a week. It was a great experience and a lovely home. Thanks Villa Habana!!! The one thing about the house that could have been designed different was the upstairs master bedroom had the bathroom in it, but then the other bedroom had no access to the bathroom and had to walk down to the second floor during the night to use a bathroom as somebody was sleeping in the master. Other than that, we had no complaints at all.

Ultimate in accommodation, fun and relaxation

Left on 10/19/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We have stayed at this Villa for two very special occasions. Both times, this Villa made our events even more memorable, intimate, and special. The kitchen if fully equipped. The dock with the kayaks and sailboat is awesome. It's private. The ten-person jacuzzi tub with the redwood tree canopy is out of this world. The decks are great. The views are awesome. I have had the time of my life here now twice. It is perfect and I can't wait to come back.

The staff at Russian River Getaways could not be nicer or more accommodating.

      Best Vacation Rental Ever!

Left on 09/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The property was amazing! We spent a week here and I was very sad to have to leave. I loved all of the little hide away areas and privacy as well as all of the room for the little one to run around. The jacuzzi and deck area were our favorite hang outs as well as the spacious kitchen where we cooked amazing meals every night. The only knock I would say would be the outside lighting at night. I actually bought votive candles and used the candle lamps to light the stairs to the lawn. On our second night the owner dropped by to tamper down the gravel drive way and fix a handle the came off in the bathroom. He was so nice and even added extra lighting near the jacuzzi. Cool property, excellent views and awesome owner.

      We'll be back!

Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in August 2011

We only went a few places while we were there on vacation, the house and property are much too beautiful and relaxing to spend your time elsewhere. I mean hiking at armstrong Forest was beautiful but we still couldn't wait to get back to our little piece of heaven. Every time we left the house our 2 year old daughter would cry and beg to go back to the vacation house. The kitchen and living room are so inviting especially with all of the doors that lead out to the deck. All of the bedrooms are lovely and clean and super cozy. The beds are so comfortable, everyone slept like logs. What a treat it was when we pulled up and saw that the property is secluded so our dog was able to safely run around free. The only thing that we missed from this home was a beach. The kids would have loved that because they are too little to hang out on the little dock so water wasn't as big a part of this vacation as we would have liked it to be. Next time we'll have to rip ourselves away from the house and go to a public beach. The canoes are great and the spa seems more like a pool because it is so big. We had to rent two homes this vacation because we had 14 people (4 were kids) and this house only allows 10. We easily could have had all of us stay at this home, there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. It felt like a huge waste of money renting the other home. Although it was nice it could in no way compare to this house and we ended up feeling a bit seperated throughout the vacation. This home is so pleasing in so many ways but most of all for me it was how nicely decorated it is. Most vacation rentals make me crazy with wanting to redecorate them but not this one. It is simply beautiful in every way. Thank you for sharing your home with us and making our anniversary so special.

      Beautiful vacation rental

Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in June 2011

This was a fantastic place to stay with our large group and dogs. We spent a lot of time on the big deck with beautiful river views. There are so many nice touches in this beautiful house, and the decor is lovely. The hot tub area is spacious with gorgeous views. We had cocktail hour and wine tasting down at the tiki bar each night, It is a large property with lots of grounds to enjoy and get away from each other if you want to. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. My daughter loved her little room off our master bed room, complete with its own little TV and toys. They've really thought of everything. Love love loved it! Great for a big group.

Perfect for families or groups who want to spend time together.

Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011

This house is great for larger family groups. There is plenty of space and a nice open floor plan. There are a few quirks that can be worked around if groups are flexible and familiar with one another. I agree that the bathroom situation is a little awkward, with one small main bathroom on the second floor and a second small bathroom in a bedroom on the third floor. The oven is a mystery and the supposed directions that were to be posted on the refrigerator were cut off. Finally, there were allegedly plenty of life jackets on the first floor, but we were only able to find two children's life jackets in the entire house. Perhaps they had been put away during the colder months and were yet to resurface. We had a great trip, nevertheless.

The directions for the oven have been replaced with ones that are not cut off. High-end sometimes means a little more complicated. There are 6 adult and 2 child life vests, usually stored on top of the downstairs armoire. -rkl

Great accommodations for one or two families

Left on 06/08/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Thank you again for such wonderful accommodations. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at this lovely vacation home.

      Things to note:

      1) There was only one kitchen cabinet available to store food. We found this difficult for a weekend - couldn't imagine staying for a full week.

      2) Light bulbs were burned out in kitchen and main-floor bath.

      3) A panel between washer and gas dryer was missing; therefore, when dryer was in use, gas flame was exposed. With three 4-year-olds, this could pose a significant danger.

      4) There is only one bathroom on the main floor that is accessible by all; the only other bathroom is off the "master" bedroom.

This house and property are so impressive. The road noise is a distraction, but after a whiile, you don't even notice it. We had a large group of large people and we never felt closed in even though we were together for a whole week. The property is on different levels and that allows you to "escape." The canoes were especially handy. I still like looking at the pictures we took; the views are incredible. There was a problem with the hot tub. We were immediatly informed by the office, given a discou, and there was someone checking in each day until they felt comfortable that we were satisfied with the repair - very impressive. I would not hesitate recommending this house for large groups; Russian River Getaways impressed me with their customer service. I will probably be using them again next year. The Russian river area is a great area to vacation.

      Relaxing and well appointed home

Left on 07/28/2010 for a stay in June 2010

We were very happy with the week we stayed here. The house has recently been remodeled and the owners did a very nice job of making it feel like a home. The large deck off the main space was really pleasant to use and had a great grill and table, as well as lovely views out on to the river. The living space was great, with a well equiped kitchen, large table an comfortable couch and chairs. It worked well for keeping an eye on the kids, while cooking etc.

The garden was also nicely done, with a nice hammock and seating area. There is no beach, but you can sit on the dock, and having the canoes was great. It's a short canoe trip or walk to Monte Rio beach if you want.

The only downsides would be the limited number of bathrooms. One is en-suite upstairs and not very accessible for the house in general, leaving one small bathroom for most of the guests. It is also close to the road and traffic is audible, this didn't bother us at all but if you are looking for silence it may not be for you.

      Villa Habana

Left on 06/17/2010 for a stay in May 2010

Overall the villa is beautiful and we really had a nice stay. I only have few and minimal comments to add:
      - the location of the villa is great, just right on the river, but unfortunately also very close to the road and the car noise is continuously present.
      - The beautiful downstairs room, with the piano, have no privacy as the twins room is within. Also the door doesn't lock nor close very well.
      - When we arrive the door code was wrong but they promptly send a new one by phone. The service wasn't able to help us with the wireless connection settings though, but we eventually find out that the password was typed on the internet hub.
      - We weren't able to use the oven and there were no instructions.
      - We felt that the layout of the house wasn't very functional as it sleeps 10-14 people but there is only one bathroom accessible to everyone. The second bathroom is within the master bedroom upstairs.
Other that that the house was very very nice and the canoes provided lot of fun, too.
