We lucked out with a beautiful april weekend in the Russian River and Johnny's Landing was the perfect place to stay. It's small, cozy and has everything you need. We spent long evenings hanging out on the deck, enjoying the hot tub and the stars.
Thank you!! -

Thank you Johnny's Landing and Russian River Getaways!! What a blissful three nights we had in your sweet little cabin. Loved the layout, it's well thought out for dog owners. It's fenced all the way around so my beagles, Woody (aka Houdini) and Millie couldn't escape. Loved sitting in the hot tub surrounded by the beautiful redwoods. Also loved the access to the private dock and canoes. A much needed, relaxing retreat after a very trying year!!
Well be back!!

We enjoyed our recent week at Johnny's Landing very much. The cabin is adorable, and while small, all of the space is very well used. There is nothing missing. The deck is very large with a great river view, and hot tub is in good shape. We spent hours sitting on the little dock on the river, or the bench swing at the side of the house. My wife and I shared the small bedroom and our 11 year old the sofa bed in the living room. It is a great house for a couple or a couple with one child.

We loved this very cozy and warm cottage. We felt as though we were 'back in time' but were offered all the amenities of our current lives...including a great TV during the week of the Olympics!

Cabin was very nice, very clean, and everything was very functional. I think it is time to replace the mattress in the room though, it has seen its day. The yard contained our dogs well although they could hop the fence if motivated. We didn't discover it until the last day, but there is a public right of way just to the east of the cabin on the highway, just west of the bridge, that leads down to a nice river area where there is plenty of room for the dogs to swim. Loved the fireplace. Don't expect to access the river when they dock is out - I think the underbrush between the river and cabin could use a clearing out as well so there would be better views of the river but not sure who controls that. Check-in was a breeze. Overall the cabin met all of our expectations!

This is my first time renting a vacation house, and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean, orderly, and functional everything was. The cottage is all wood, very well heated in every room, and cozily decorated. The hot tub outside is perfect! It overlooks the river and is surrounded by trees. It sits on a spacious deck with a new set of wooden patio furniture and umbrella. The gated front yard is very spacious, and my dog loved sniffing around the front and out back where we sat in the hot tub. Overall it was a fantastic experience, and the managers were professional, friendly, and reliable!

It was a great weekend. The trail to the river was rather steep and not very easy to travel. The kitchen was smaller than expected, but we did not really use it much. There were too many don't do this signs.

Glad these people had a good time. The river access is steep and the kitchen is small, but these things are shown on the website in photos so should have been no surprise. The signs are meant to be helpful. -rkl

Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
From start to finish, I had a great experience renting Johnny's Landing from Rrgetaways. After browsing their offerings online, I called the office for more information and was guided to this house, which was absolutely perfect for my getaway with my dog.
I used the kitchen quite frequently, and the cooking gear was fine for a vacation week. Great BBQ on a lovely deck that overlooks the river. I used the hot tub every day too. My dog and I jumped in the river off the dock, and we also took a paddling trip with Russian River adventures.
It's a short drive to the dog-friendly beach at Monte Rio (south of the bridge). We had a lovely, relaxing week and look forward to returning next summer.

We loved this house on the river. Just close enough to town for short drive or even walk. House itself was very tasteful and endlessly charming. Stairs to the river dock and kayacks were huge plus ... not sure we can ever stay in Guerneville again and not be on the river! We enjoyed entertaining friends at the house and cooking dinner in the small but decent kitchen (normal by NYC standards). We took day trips to several wineries, enjoyed armstrong Woods, Rainbow Cattle Company, Coffee Bazaar and George's Hideaway. We didn't want to leave. In fact, this is exactly the kind of house we'd like to buy in Guerneville. We will visit again.

we had such a wonderful time here. we must've arrived at the coldest time of the year, but the cabin was perfectly cozy with a large fireplace, and the hot tub on the river and under the trees was a total charm.

San Francisco, CACozy cabin, kitchen was disappointing
Left on 11/04/2010 for a stay in October 2010
This place was neat overall.
critiques:We were planning on doing a lot of cooking on our little vacay, but the kitchen was like an efficiency with a dorm-room fridge and all. We really couldn't cook what we wanted in that tiny kitchen.
The bedroom was so small, we could barely fit the Pack N Play for our baby without having my husband have to climb over me to get in and out of bed. We didn't have space for our bags in the room at all, so we kept everything in the living room. Not very convenient.
The hot tub and ambience were awesome. Very cool. Also, the fenced yard was great for our dog.
Overall we were happy, but though the place was a little overpriced for being so tiny. -

Overall the stay was wonderful. There were a few issues, 3 piles of old dog poop that we had to clean up, BBQ didn't work but the office sent a lady over with charcoal & lighter fluid which was very nice service & the neighbors dogs barked allot the first night we were there. I also didn't like the cow hide on the floor in the living room. As an animal lover, that bothered me.I don't think I would rent this particular house again but I would go through Russian River Getaways again & rent another property as their overall service was excellant.

We require that guests clean up after their dogs and our cleaners check for this, but sometimes it gets missed. If these folks had called us, we would have sent someone to pick up the mess for them!

Very rustic and classic cabin. Was a perfect place to relax and enjoy Russian river views. The squirrels and blue jays kept us enternained for hours. The hot tub was just what we needed and the accomodations were perfect. should write a bad review to make sure it is available when we go back, and go back we surely will, but to be fair, we will give someone else a chance enjoy the cabin also. Very dog friendly fenced front yard with easy cleanup. If the cabin ever goes up for sale, give us first notice! We would recommend this place to anyone. RRGetaways is always very accomodating to us and provides great service. Booking online is a breeze. The houses we rent are always clean and kept up well. The area around the Russian river is beautiful and Guerneville is a great place to shop-everyone is always so friendly. Have recommended other people to book with RRGetaways and they have always loved the experience.

We had such a lovely time. It was a great location for two. I'd go back and rent this same property in heartbeat. Tiny Kitchen but otherwise well appointed and WHO CARES about the size of the kitchen when you have such a perfect back deck and a dock on the river to lounge on anyway! Clearly the owners have dogs as there were all kinds of smart ways to contain our dog in more managable spaces.

We really enjoyed staying at Johnny's Landing for few days. It is beautiful
old redwood log cabin. The deck with the hot-tub, which we used nightly,
was just beautiful to watch the stars and the redwoods. We enjoyed having
our breakfast and dinners on the deck. The Extra refrigerator was great
addition outside.
We also would have enjoyed the kayak's, had we had time to use them. We
took the little plastic boat out for a ride on the Russian River, but it was too
difficult to row with the children's rows (Perhaps next time we would find a
adult size wooden rows? :)
The Johnny's Landing Log Cabin is ideally located outside of Gurneyville
downtown, just a biking distance. It is tuck away for privacy, with river
access. The owners of the cabin had added cute useful little things that you
might need when away from you home comfort We will be coming back
again very soon.
Thank you,
Taija and Stephen Aguirre & Aalto - He really like the front yard , -

My wife and I needed a weekend away really bad - we wanted
secluded, nice place with a great outdoors immediately available. We
also needed a place where our fast-growing, but still a very much
puppy dog could feel comfortable. We got that all in Johnny's Landing
cabin: easy river access, very private deck with a hot tab and grill,
warm and cozy cabin with a fantastic fire place.
If you want to find serenity and comfort, especially if stress level goes
out of control, this is the place for you.
