Moondance, like all other Russian River Getaways houses in which we have stayed, is very comfortable and well-equipped. We loved having a canoe and kayak and our own dock as a quiet place to hang out. Bartlett's market within walking distance is a great plus and very well-stocked. We appreciated the local radio station Kggb that plays oldies music and trips to the famous bakery in Freestone, lunch out at Howard's in Occidental (coconut waffles!) as well as cruising Guerneville and enjoying their farmer's market on Thursday.
Getaways sent an electrician within minutes when our kitchen outlets went on the blink. Worst part: having to leave! -

We have rented lots of different houses on the river over the years and have decided that Moondance is our favorite. We loved the easy access to the beach and dock and how close it is to town if you have to run to the store for something you forgot. We enjoyed the outdoor "living room" in the garden and found out we could see the eagle's nest across the river if we looked in just the right spot between the trees. The blue jays singing in the trees (and stealing our dog's food off the deck!) were fun to watch and the ducks were good company when we were on the dock. We appreciated how well-appointed the house was - the owners thought of everything, even flashlights! The beds were very comfortable, with good quality linens and towels. Everything was spotlessly clean. We are looking forward to a return visit.

Our family of 4 had an amazing stay at Moondance. The dock with the kayaks and canoe were fun to use. It was actually one of the nicer docks on the river. The scenery on the river and from the back deck was amazing. The house was set up with everything we needed and everything worked great. We liked the toaster & some Williams Sonoma soap so much that I ordered them for our own home when we got back. There's a little table by the garden window in the front. I enjoyed reading there each morning. We Bbq'd, played board games & visited Don's Dogs & the theater which were a short walk away. We reconnected with our teenagers & I videotaped what it was like to be able to sit in quiet at any point in the day. I still am missing it even now.

This rental was very attractive and well appointed. It was a pretty steep trip down to the river--no problem for the younger folks, but one person with some mobility issues was not able to get there (although river access was available with a walk way at the public beach)

The house was surprisingly spacious for my family of six and two large dogs. The most memorable feature was how clean everything was. The kitchen was especially well organized without much clutter in the drawers and cabinets. The linens were high quality. The natural setting was lovely. I prefer a sandy beach rather than a dock. Also, a future plan would be to develop the backyard into a nice grassy area. In addition having a TV in the main floor bedroom would have been nice.

We had a very nice stay at the Moondance vacation home. A very welcoming space, clean and well kept. Especially loved the backyard and hanging out on the dock - where we spent most of our time. Thanks for making such a homey getaway.

While smaller than the pictures suggest, we found Moondance to be charming and cozy. There were seven of us ranging in age from 77 to 13 along with a couple of dogs and everyone had a great time. The beds were very comfortable and the decore was very sweet. The living room furnature and dining sets were also very comfy, I spent many hours reading on the love seat with my pup, on my own blanket, of course. The kitchen was very well equiped, there was even a filtered water pitcher and cooking and clean up were a breeze, love that we had a dishwasher to help out! We love staying in Monte Rio, it's close to town and to the ocean, but pretty quiet and private. As ever, Russian River Getaways offered nothing but superior service, always a pleasure staying in their properties. My small complaints were that the refrigerator was a little small for a group of seven and that the property in back was all dirt which turns into a fine powder during the summer and gets everywhere! Other than that, we all loved the place. As for the rules that some other reviewers complain about, I have been staying with Rrgetaways for years now as have several of my friends and I have never found the rules to be excessive or disruptive. We have no problems complying with reasonable requests so that everyone can enjoy a relaxing vacation and the property can be ready for the next family to come in.

Thank you so much for allowing our family to use this house. We had a great time although the weather was overcast and a little chilly for venturing out on the river. It even rained a couple of times. Everything was as listed and furnished with everything needed but the food.
Our son did venture out in one of the canoes for a bit but got a little wetter than expected due to the rain. Our granddaughter fished right off the back dock and caught a fish the size of a french fry that made her day! Once again thank you.

We rented Moondance for one week in August.
The home was very comfortable...well suited to 4 people.
In my opinion it is a stretch to advertise sleeping up to 8 people as the home is small.
We very much enjoyed the river and having access to kayaks/canoes...liked the spa and deck area...kitchen was quite sufficient...was nice having internet.
Grounds are a bit run down (front very dry, broken irrigation system, overgrown in back) and some of the interior needs work (mold growing around kitchen sink in caulking, towel rack came off of bathroom door)
Most importantly, if funds permitted we would strongly recommend they prune and trim the trees and growth bordering on the river...it's ashame that there is NO VISIBILITY of the river and the property feels very dark. That is what we liked least and for that single reason we would look for a different property on the river on our next trip.
We loved the communities, local restaurants, hiking, and golf club was fantastic and affordable!!

The house functions well is nicely appointed.
We loved the experience, but here are the few items that dissapointed. The house is a little close to River Rd and is especially noisey in the upstairs front bedroom. The pictures show a grassy seating area out back, that I think is actually the property next door. I had to trim the pathway down to the dock myself the first night on property for access. At least there were tools in the garage. Again these were minor items, overall we loved the house. I think we donated our waffle-iron. Enjoy it! -

My friends and I LOVED this house. It's very clean and comfortable, and well equipped. The backyard and hot tub and deck are the nicest places to be on a sunny day and I would absolutely stay here again. The only issue is that it is a pet-friendly home, so if you have any allergies to animals, you may be bothered as a couple of people on our party were by the previous animals who have stayed here.

We're so glad the guests enjoyed this beautiful home--maybe we should schedule a photo-shoot! We would be very surprised if anyone had an allergic reaction to previous dogs. We do not allow cats and our cleaners are very thorough when cleaning after canine guests. We do have guests who experience allergic reactions to some of our pollens; everything grows like crazy here!
