The house looked wonderful from the pictures and I'm sure it actually is wonderful in real life however the Russian River Getaways company called me 3 hours prior to my arrival time at the house to tell me the house was not rentable. They were going to switch me from a 5 bedroom house into a three bedroom house in a worse location. This was absolutely unacceptable. I had a large group of people coming in from different areas to meet at the house and they only let me know 3 hours prior to the time that I was arriving they were unable to furnish me with a a suitable house I was forced to rent a house at the very last minute from another company. I'm still waiting to receive confirmation of the refund but have not heard a from the Russian River Getaways yet.

We went five couples, all in our 50's to spend three days at this place.There were five bedrooms, the dinning table accommodated all 10 of us well, the living room was nice and cozy, and we loved the hot tub, although you can't fit 10 people in it. There are also several decks with plenty of outdoor furniture and electrical outlets, so that was nice. In addition, the river access and having the canoes and kayaks available was a definite plus.
On the flip side, two bathrooms is definitely not enough for 10 people. A place this size could definitely use 3-4 toilets at least. The kitchen was a bit small, but manageable, and some of the furniture should be replaced, as it's old.
Overall though, I would definitely recommend this place and would visit again. -

We had a great time at the Sundancing River Lodge - the house was perfect and it was lovely to have so much outdoor space and river access! Everything was just as advertised, and we slept 9 people quite comfortably.
It was extremely hot while we were there, but the very downstairs rooms remained cool even at the hottest time of day, which was nice.

I have stayed here before and found the home in the same condition it was in years ago when I stayed there, except the vegetable garden was gone. Given the home is for sale, I understand why.
One of my friends has terminal cancer, so the doctors say... and she came here from Omaha, Nebraska. She absolutely loved it and thanked me profusely for the trip and selection of the home. We spent most of the time on the decks, which are beautiful, looking at the wild life and the stars at night. Two other friends from out of state were ecstatic with the location and the beauty.
Russian River Getaways has the only homes one should rent if they come to Sonoma County as the selection is the best for whatever your heart would desire. They are very accommodating, offer great collateral services and the homes are always maintained in excellent condition..like you would keep your own. I always recommend them to my friends who come to Sonoma County and wish I could come up more regularly to sample the wonderful inventory of properties they maintain. Best always to RRG and all the fine, helpful, accommodating staff.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The house easily accommodated our group of adults, kids & teens. The series of decks overlooking the river is great. The dining room is lovely. It's the perfect place for a family reunion.

Down side. The number 2 bedroon smelled of cat urine. the canoe and kaiaks were dirty and filled with old rivr water. the latter to the dock was a heap of rotting metal, tosted on the river bank
Up side. The house was well equipped, the kitchen, lots of pans and utensils. And we'er a family that likes to cook togeather. more than enough towels. Rideable bikes, life perservers and floatied in the garage. Chase lounge chairs on the decks, gas in the BBQ ( we barbeuqed every night.)Lots of out door funriture, Every evening was better than the night before. Large dinning room. lots of space to be alone and one large patio to be togeather outdoors and the spa service was cleaning the spa as I was opening the front door.Nevr heard a sound from the homes near us. Lots of birds on the river plus river otters on the dock. Misty mornings, warm days. Cleaed up the canoe and kaiaks and put some mile on that river. We had up to 10 adults at the house and never felt crowded. Sounds like almost everything was almost perfect! There's no cat in this house ever, so I'm not sure what's going on with the smell, but we'll check it out. The boats are in whatever condition they were left by last renter, which was not great this time and is unusual. We check them periodically for safety issues, but we don't have time between rentals in the summer to clean them up. We'll also check out the ladder to the dock. -GM

We were a large group(10) with adults and kids and the house took us all in. Its truly a 'Home' that gets the family to bond around Bbq's, the jacuzzi and kayaking. The best part of the house is the access to the river. You walk a couple of stairs down and you are at the dock. If you get across(kayak)to the other side(left) there is a little island that you can get off and swim.
We got lucky and saw a seal and turtles while kayaking.
The three decks with views are perfect for kids and adults to hang out and not intrude in each ones space. The bedrooms are nice, love the one in between the two levels. An extra bathroom would be nice but it was not a big deal.
Easy access to broadband wireless, golf, bodega bay, wineries and downtown are other advantages.
Highly recommended!

Thank you for a wonderful weekend at the Russian River. We rented Sundancing River Lodge from 6-10 to 6-13 for a nice weekend away! We had fun except some repairs need to be made to the unit right way to avoid damage. All were there when we came and we were able to stay there but it was a bit annoying.
1) the down stairs toilet leaks constantly causing it to run all the time.
2) The Fridge Ice maker is not working and there is water leaking out from under the Fridge onto the floor slowly all weekend.
3) The Garbage disposal leaks water. (we put a container under it to catch the water)
4) The back porch gate is coming off the hinges
5) there are bugs behind each piece of furniture.
We loved the house but felt these things could have been a bit better and were concerned for the leaks to the building.

We had a little trouble when we arrived working the TV/DVD hookups and finding the boat paddles, we couldn't find it in the instructions provided and were frustrated the first night-being a doctor I avoided calling the "emergency number" provided initially. When I did the next morning I realized that number contacted an actual person who came right over to answer all of our questions and said we could call for anything. The house is comfortable and spacious-the stairs involved are tricky with a toddler- but my whole family had a blast. Its a great location on the river with enough boats for everyone to enjoy and the property is incredible.

We enjoyed our stay at Sundancing River Lodge. The property was well maintained and very comfortable. Russian River Getaways was very helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. We had a good time canoeing on the river and just relaxing on the deck. I wish we had been able to rent for longer.

I have been renting houses from Russian River Getaways for many years. The service is always outstanding and the staff a pleasure to work with. My birthday weekend at Sundancing River Lodge was exceptional. The large 5 bedroom house accomodated my children and grandchildren easily. Plenty of room for everyone. Everyone commented on how comfortable their beds were. The true delight was having beautiful weather(we were there between storms)and being able to enjoy the exceptional outdoor living spaces. The view of the river is superb and the bird life is constant and a wonderment. A sea lion joined us for breakfast one morning.
I hate to say anything negative about this lovely house, but the kitchen is small, although well stocked and with good appliances. The dining room could be better arranged perhaps with smaller chairs for more room. I would definitely stay here again. -

- brand new stove
- Management responded quickly to issues of heat not working and power outage
Minuses: - VERY musty/mildewy smelling- particularly the kitchen

This house is well equipped with everything you need. Kitchen is small but well stocked - actually too stocked no room to put any of your own food in kitchen (a cleared out cabinet would be nice). Landscaping was beautiful and having the dock right in the backyard with the kayaks was the best. We enjoyed the swimming and kayaking everyday it was so convenient. Just like the house we stayed in last year we were a little disappointed in cleaning. For such a high fee house should be clean. Lots of leftover pet hair from last occupants and dirty dishes in cabinets. And like last time we left house cleaner than when we arrived.

Our family loved this home on the river. The setting was perfect - one of the best locations on the river! The dock provided a nice swimming area and the amount of kayaks and canoes allowed for many to go on a river trip at once. The home was very comfortable, nicely decorated with lots of room and privacy for all. We hope to return again next year.

So when you are at the Russian River, you should be
chilling next to or in the river. This house is THE
perfect spot for being outside viewing the river,
swimming and boating. I have rented many houses in
this area and none compare to Sundancing when it
comes to the backyard.
The kitchen is tiny, the living room, not super
inviting, but the dining room and bedrooms can easily
fit 10 people, parking galore and just a fantastic
spot to relax and enjoy this magical area! -

It is a wonderful house by the river. We had a fantastic weekend there. The only thing that we didn't enjoy was the check out time, 11am. Since we are from San Francisco, we wanted to leave after lunch, around 1pm, but the staff was very inflexible about this point. I hope they reconsider this policy, because it doesn't make sense pay for two days, and just enjoy one full day.

We're happy these guests were happy! However, if we have later check-outs, we have to have later check-ins and then everyone would complain about that. We need four hours to get our houses ready for the next guests and the cleaners have very tight schedules. We wish we could be more flexible, but we simply can't be, except in the winter.
