A wonderful house a mile from the centre of Ryde, on the Isle of Wight, sleeping up to ten people in five bedrooms. Arethusa Cottage is a magnificent detached cottage a mile from the centre of Ryde on the Isle of Wight. Split into two properties, the main house and the log cabin, it has five bedrooms. A super king-size double and a twin in the main house, and a ground floor double, adult bunks and a first floor attic room with twin mattresses for children in the log cabin. There is a family bathroom in each. The log cabin has a sitting area and small kitchen area, as well as a decked patio with furniture, while the main house has a large kit...chen, dining room, sitting room with woodburner and a large conservatory with French doors to the decked garden. There is also an indoor heated swimming pool and a sauna. With so much to see and do on the Isle of Wight, this is the perfect base for friends and families to stay.

Amenities: Gas central heating. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, second fridge (in garden cottage), washing machine, dishwasher, TV with DVD player (in garden cottage), TV with basic Sky package, DVD, CD and radio, WiFi, selection of books, DVDs and games. All fuel, power and wood for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent (please bring own pool towels). Indoor swimming pool (heated all year) 5m x 9m, depth 1.2m to 1.9m, sauna. Cot and highchair available on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Large enclosed garden with two decked areas, garden furniture, BBQ area and fish pond. Small decked area with furniture outside garden cottage. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 1 mile, beach 2.5 miles. Note: This owner requires a refundable Good Housekeeping bond of £300. Note: Max 8 adults and 2 children. Please note that when at full occupancy the property has limited space.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  Lovely house, which is really two houses. Plenty of space for extended family to chill out in their own space. Lovely bathroom in main house. Pool is fantastic for British weather days! Sauna also a real bonus. Well equipped kitcheb. Conservatory is wonderful, a really relaxing place for everyone. Ryde is not the most attractive of towns but it has everything you need and the people are really, really friendly. We had to take our baby to a GP as a visitor and they couldn't have been more helpful. Everyone on the Island was kind and welcoming.

  Delightful property. Home from Home

  Our families experience was completely different from the previous reviewers. As only a short time difference, not sure why that is.
  We found the booking agent very helpful and pleasant, which allayed any concerns we had.
  
  The property was very homely, it is an old property in a rural location, but we found no major issues and it was all very clean.
  
  Despite the typical English weather, the conservatory and swimming pool made our stay very pleasant.
  There were many personal touches around the property and you can tell how much the cottage is loved by the owner.
  
  The kitchen was very well equipped including a washing machine and dishwasher.
  
  Although we travelled with older children (which we banished to the Garden Cottage!) the well kept garden and pond were appreciated by all, especially at night due to the abundance of lighting.
  
  We were advised of the non-availability of the Hot Tub (odd that the previous reviewer wasn't) , which was disappointing, but the sauna and swimming pool more that made up for it.
  
  The bathroom doors do not have locks due to child safety issues, but we made up some signs to hang on the doors, which worked well (they may still be there!)
  
  Overall we loved the location, the property and homely feel.
