Reston, VaMagnificent views, luxury and access
Left on 07/21/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Loved our stay at Chalet Chloe. The Chalet is the highest of any in the area and allows for unfettered views of the alps. Getting to the Chalet is easy. We have a small child and it was easy access.
The catering was superb. If we had not been skiing many hours every day, we would have put on weight with the 5-star cuisine.
The chalet is stocked with all the amenities needed to make one feel at home. We would definitely stay at Chalet Chloe when we return to Saas Fee. -

London, United KingdomWonderful service, great skiing, pretty village.
Left on 01/01/2011 for a stay in December 2010
Nat and Nik of Mountain Exposure were great hosts for our week in Saas Fee and provided top notch hospitality which included a fully cooked breakfast, sumptuous cakes with tea, pre-dinner canapés and a four to five course dinner. There was plenty of good wine and drinks to keep us lubricated to the early hours. They even catered for the one vegetarian in our group and served child friendly meals for the kids on top. Natalie is a very able chef and Nik’s hosting was immaculate whilst remaining friendly and unassuming. I never sensed for a moment, despite some fairly demanding guests, the slightest grumble from them. I had heard about Mountain Exposure’s famed service in Zermatt and they seem, at least in my experience, to have succeeded in bringing their high standards of hospitality and catering to their pretty neighbour, Saas Fee.
The chalet itself is new, beautifully furnished and at the same time very cozy and warm which is helped by underfloor heating throughout the chalet. It is centrally located, though positioned slightly above the centre of the village which requires a little extra effort either by taking a couple of minutes walk up a private path from the village's main boulevard or via a scenic electric taxi ride along the Hohnegg road (where many of the more exclusive chalets of Saas Fee have been built). From Chalet Chloe’s elevated perch we had wonderful 360 degree views of Saas Fee peaks (including the Dom, Switzerland's highest peak) and glaciers . We chose to leave our skis and boots in storage which were located right next to the nursery slopes and close to the main lifts, as pre-arranged by MX, so we never had to carry any equipment around the village. Unfortunately, We did not we did not get to try the legendary 6 km toboggan lit-up night runs of Saas Fee. Although the small bubble cars which take you up for this run is only about 30 seconds from the chalet, the run was shut as the village was preparing it for the upcoming Xmas week. Instead, to amuse the kids, we opted for the fun ice museum which is situated beneath the highest revolving restaurant in the world and which is reached by a couple of lifts and the funicular. The kids also loved the afternoon we spent at the heated and child friendly indoor public pool and spa.
The ski-ing itself was good with excellent snow conditions, even in early December. There is, of course, less variety than Zermatt, but the pistes are generous and wide, unlike those at many of the the French and austrian resorts, and as Saas Fee still remains a little swiss secret it was never too packed. The nursery slopes were perfect for the kids and we chose the English speaking Optimum Sports to provide friendly private tuition to our three kids who were spending their first time on skis. Chalet Chloe under MX supervision was a little like visiting an exclusive hotel with a fine dining restaurant for a week, interrupted by the occasional excursion to ski slopes. We are definitely coming back with the family!
