A perfect retreat whether with your whole family or for a special weekend away with your spouse. Bring on the simple things, with endless beach time and happy hours on a private ocean-front balcony. Great resort access and an ideal Atlantic Coast location make this unit special - yet its name gives away the best pursuit of all: spotting dolphins playing in the waves from the comfort of your own patio.

Dolphin Watch is a self-contained suite on the second floor. While the location benefits your view, you also get better privacy and peace of mind. This converted carriage house is perfect for a casual escape to the beach. N...o airs or pretenses - just comfortable relaxation and lots of peace and quiet. A world removed from the frenetic party towns found elsewhere in the state, there's a lot of calm to be found at Dolphin Watch Cottage, as well as in nearby St. Augustine.

A private outdoor entrance is perfectly convenient, though you can enjoy the outside at any time on your ocean-view balcony. Settle on to a long bench seat with day cushions, setting a drink on the side table. Extra chairs provide room for everyone, and a lovely white wooden railing maintains the breeze and keeps pets safe. A few nearby palm trees add further ambiance.

In the living room is yet more casual comfort. An oversized armchair plus a long, cushioned sofa are both lovely spots from which to enjoy TV (or a DVD). Wireless Internet is provided, too! The space has nautical décor amid warm, lacquered wood walls. A ceiling fan sits above, while A/C is provided as well.

The convenience and freedom to self-cater while on vacation can't be overstated. From a full sized kitchen you can create any meal, snack or cocktail you fancy - never needing to find the local restaurant that serves it. All appliances and cookware are provided. Dine on either your private patio or within the dining area.

Dolphin Watch accommodates up to four guests - great for a couple or two looking to get away, or a small family. The bedroom has a comfy king-sized bed, with a queen sleeper sofa available in the living room. These share a full bath. The master room's bed has a lovely custom-upholstered headboard - white and blue bedding and accents are perfect for the beach.

Decorated in great style to a very high standard, the cottage's warm furnishings make the most of the sun-lit space. The balcony is lovely to sit out and view the ocean, just slipping off your flip-flops and enjoying a cocktail.

Delight in staying here during the winter months, when the cottage is lovely to return to after an atmospheric beach walk. Within walking distance are a dozen great restaurants, so you'll never need to taxi home after enjoying a bottle of wine. Kids will love mini-golf, watching fish from the pier and beach volleyball, too. But just steps off the beach the area abounds with shops of collectibles, nautical-themed gifts, resort apparel, beach toys (for all ages), antiques, and unusual souvenirs. The variety of fine restaurants nearby is amazing! There are coffee shops, smoothie bars, and ice cream parlors. Rent mopeds, segways, kayaks, windsurfing gear, boats, jet skis, and more.

If a special occasion or deserved reward is in the works for your friends or family, consider renting all 4 cottages together for one perfect vacation Lightkeeper's House (sleeps 4), Dolphin Watch Cottage (sleeps 4), and Wave Watch Cottage (sleeps 4), and Captain's Cottage (sleeps 2). This is a welcome option for families traveling together for a special reunion.

All Sea Star Suites have cable/color televisions in both the living area and bedroom, wifi, and private off-street parking. Also included are bath towels and linens, air conditioning and heat, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, plates, glassware, kitchen utensils, ironing board and iron, and hair dryer.

We couldn't have picked a better location. Right on the beach! We loved that our balcony view was the ocean and that the unit had a hose outside to rinse off our sandy pooch before entering the room. The unit had lost of space and a decent sized kitchen. The bed was huge and comfy! Overall we had one of the best vacations ever!!

I was a bit worried after having read the reviews but overall this place is a decent value for the money. The furniture is worn but comfortable. The aC is adequate but far from great. The wifi router is located next door so if whoever is there happens to unplug it, youâ??re out of luck. Here's my breakdown of some other pros and cons:

The neighborhood is crowded, noisy, and most of the surrounding houses kept outside lights on all night, thus negating the advertisement that this property is "sea turtle friendly" and lit up the living room all night. Except for the one bed, the rest of the furniture is dirty and worn out, especially the couch and chair. The decor is appalling. There are no screens in any of the windows and the ac is inefficient, noisy. Would never stay in this area again.
The property needs some attention.

due to the work going on at the B&B; the noise was constant and the porch was not usable most of the time It was like living in the parking lot at walmart with the traffic and exhaust fumes This is not a suitable rental for long term, a week at a time would be bearable. The property mgr did notseem to care about the discomfort of tenants due to the noise.

Overall we were happy. There was an ant problem, obviously known with the traps and the front lock was temperamental. The view was great, the cottage adorable. We really enjoyed. Wish we can say the same for the BnB across the way and all its smoking patrons. Really brings down the the place with their family/clientele.

I would have stayed another night if available. The view was great as well as the Suite. Enjoyed every minute of the vacation. Convenient and close to everything -- Especially the Beach!

Captains Watch then Dolphins Watch

When we first arrived, the unit that we had reserved (Captains Watch) was very dirty and we were dissatisfied. However, the next day, we called the office and spoke with the property manager. He worked with us to make the situation right and ended up letting us stay in Dolphins Watch, which was much cleaner (and nicer I might add). The way we were treated by all the people we worked with definitely makes this a place and company I would do business with again in the future!

this is a cottage in a nice location. nice view of the beach and easy walk back and forth to the beach. we had a small issue w/ our refrigerator, as it did not cool correctly for the first 24 hours upon arrival. As a result, we had to throw a few cold items out. However, when I contacted them about this issue they sent over a very nice gentleman who looked at the fridge. I would recommend that the owners consider replacing the bed w/ a new one. It wasn't the most comfortable. But, overall, my family had a very nice vacation and we would go back and stay at this cottage.
