Newly renovated and bursting with charm, La Casa de Vision is an historic Spanish-style cottage on the trolley line in downtown St. Augustine, just 3 minutes from Vilano Beach! And when you stay here, part of your rent is sent to a charity for the blind!<br/>Within walking distance of the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, La Casa de Vision is located just across the street from the Old Jail/Carousel Park trolley stop. You don't need a vehicle to see all the great sights of the Old City when you stay here -- Flagler College, the Fountain of Youth Park, Ripley's Sightseeing Tours, and the Florida Heritage Museum are all within easy w...alking distance. And you can feel good about staying in a house where 10% of your rent money is donated directly to either the Foundation for Fighting Blindness or to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind.<br/>You will fall in love with La Casa de Vision before you even step inside. It's a little adobe-style house with a traditional Spanish-tile roof and a glorious butterfly garden in the front yard! Set on a quiet avenue with convenient off-street parking, it's a delightful little haven in busy St. Augustine.<br/>Enter the living room and you are immediately aware of the calm, welcoming atmosphere. Polished hardwood floors, long sunny windows fitted with mini-blinds, and sage-green walls create an air of tranquility that is most welcome after a long day sightseeing in the historic district or playing on the beach. A huge sectional couch invites you to kick off your shoes and recline in front of the TV (with DVD player and cable, of course!) or switch on the stereo to decompress. <br/>In one corner, a separate sitting area is perfect for one person to read or work (you have free wireless Internet at La Casa de Vision) while the other watches the game on TV. You will love the pleasing décor and layout of this bungalow. It makes you feel at home right away!<br/>The kitchen at La Casa de Vision has just been completely renovated, with new appliances, granite countertops, and lovely dropped lighting. Fully stocked with all the dishes, cookware, and utensils you could ask for, it's ready to tackle any chore from a quick snack to a full feast! A big window (filled with suncatchers) beside the stove offers you a nice view, and the breakfast bar with stools is a handy place to grab a quick bite.<br/>For longer meals, though, you've got to dine al fresco on the patio in the backyard! Our fenced backyard is a glorious area, shaded by a giant oak tree and boasting 2 hammocks (soon to become your go-to nap spots!), a covered rocker swing, casual seating beneath an umbrella table, and a grill. The balmy breezes of St. Augustine have never felt so good! This is the place you will want to slip away to, first thing in the morning, with a mug of coffee and your vacation journal or binoculars (birds love our backyard!). It's also the spot you'll gravitate to for that midnight glass of wine, savoring the last moments of each day. <br/>And when it's time to retire for the night, you'll love the bedroom at La Casa de Vision. Comfortable and soothing, it encourages early nights and late mornings! And you'll find all the linens, blankets, and pillows you need for the bed waiting for you here, along with towels for the bathroom (which has been newly updated with travertine tiling!) and a washer and dryer to keep everything fresh and clean.   My husband and I started going to St augustine last year when my son decided to attend Flagler college, we often stayed in hotels but this year we wanted to try something different. This cottage is beautiful the decorations and the attention to detail inside and out were great! We spend many evenings relaxing in the beautiful backyard. Everything we needed from Wifi to beach chairs were available. Downtown St augustine is about a 2 mile walk and we really enjoyed to run or walk in the mornings. The 2 mile walk would take us to our favorite coffee house. Fist time traveling with my poodle and he did better than expected he felt right at home. The only thing we recommend is maybe Tiki lights in the backyard and a blender I love making Margaritas. Already booking for next trip in November. This is our new home away from home.

  My wife and I were very satisfied with the cottage. It was nicely decorated and had all the amenities needed,and very comfortable. The landscaping was great, and a big part of the overall effect. It was a charming place to spend our vacation. The house was a 25 minute walk from historic downtown unfortunately. But otherwise the location was pretty decent...5 minute drive from Pondre Verda beach...and The Reef, a great restaurant...and a short drive to St. Augustine Beach. Our only issues, none of passwords for Wifi worked...and not enough bath towels or tp (had to buy our own). Overall, a great stay!!

  I had a wonderful week in this lovely place. While the space was small, the attention to detail was perfect. It had everything I needed and I even had a small dinner party there. The location was convent to beaches and all the activity and yet was a sanctuary for rejuvenation. I'll be back!

  What a wonderful little cottage/house. The house has been totally updated and looks wonderful. We were pleasently surprised. The pictures do not do this house justice.
