Fleur de Cactus is a gorgeous villa in St Barts with an impressive view over the bay of St Jean, the ocean and the surrounding islands.
Very nicely decorated it combines modernity and Caribbean style and colors. You enter the villa via the living room, facing the breathtaking view, the wooden deck and the heated Jacuzzi. The rooms are equal size, with a sea view and with their own atmosphere and decoration.
Villa Fleur de Cactus has two dining areas, one inside in the living room and one outside with a BBQ area.

Left on 01/09/2012 for a stay in December 2011
Great house, central location on the island, lovely views. As with many St. Barths houses, steep driveway. Very pleasantly and thoughtfully decorated - comfortable, well-equipped, not flashy (you won't spend half an hour trying to figure out how to turn on the lights or turn up the music). Photos posted are totally representative. Extremely helpful housekeeper - without us even asking, she double checked all our restaurant reservations (it was Christmas / New Year week) and made sure e.g. we knew that PaCri had moved location.
Only watch-outs: we encountered a few mosquitos the first night (it only takes one or two to get bitten...), but were then able to keep the bedroom screens closed, so didn't have any further problems; one night, someone across the valley decided to really crank the music and it kept the kids awake a bit - but again, it was Christmas week, so not a big deal.
We can happily recommend and would stay there again.
5-star overall, one star off on value - it's St. Barths, Christmas week is clearly super-peak, there was no two week minimum and they didn't just double the peak rate, but I still can't bring myself to say "Excellent Value" ;-) and one-star off on location - very central on the island, but other houses nearby, so if you want total isolation, or conversely something right on the beach, this is not for you.
