Left on 05/21/2013 for a stay in May 2013
It was a great weekend, the weather cooperated and we found the whole experience to be something we would like to repeat next year. The cottage was beyond cozy, it was clean, spacious, well equipped and inviting. Our hosts were hands-on, very accommodating and very friendly. We had a lovely breakfast service, the view was serene and just made the whole experience exceptional.

Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in June 2012
Staying at Nokara farms was a delightful experience for our family. My 3 young children, almost a year after our stay, ask me when are we going back. Every morning of our stay we were waiting to see Katryn arrive with such wonderful pastry. Delicious. We really felt welcome. Thanks farmer Joe for taking us to visit the property. The children absolutely loved feeding chickens "like real farmers" . We would definitely stay there again.

Great service from Kathryn and Joe, the morning sampler deliveries from the bakery were a great feature - our 20mth daughter loved them! The cottage was great, with a comic edge - the slant of the floor in main room did make me wonder if "the boathouse" might be a more appropriate name ("she's listing to port, Captain...") Location is perfect - feels like you're outin the country (which you are) but you're just a short drive to town. The views from the cottages are just great, and I'd only suggest one thing really - how about a towel rail in the bathroom for bath towels? If we're back in the area, this will be our first choice for accommodation. So much more interesting than a hotel!

Kathryn was a fantastic hostess. The location was a perfect getaway from home, not too far and a cozy place. My friends and I had a great stay and couldn't have created better memories during the thanksgiving weekend.
Breakfast snacks were awesome (cinnamon buns, empire cookies, pumpkin bars, strawberries, pears and muffins).
Would definitely come back to stay in the future.
Thank you!!

Each morning we had warm freshley baked goods, which were place decoratively on a plate, delivered to our door by 9-9:30am. These goodies were heavenly!
The cottage is spacious and cozy, just what we were looking for, equiped with all the needs to prep a great meal, and it's so easy to eat fresh by purchasing produce fresh from the Nokara market...yummy!
The view from the cottage is spectacular and when the day is clear you have a great sight of the Toronto skyline, our daughter got a kick from it. Waking up to the sound of the lake was the icing on the cake.
When we wanted to get out, we would just walk around the grounds or we would go for just a short ride to Port Dolhousie, were you can get an ice cream, take a walk on the boardwalk or stop for some lunch. There is always something to do. Otherwise you can do nothing but relax back at the cottage. We have stayed at Nokara guests cottages twice so far and we would like to make visits annually, trying all five Cottages! -

We stayed at the Lake House for 5 days and absolutely loved it. The view is amazing. You can see lake Ontario stretching out and even the Toronto skyline in the distance on a clear day. The cottage is new so everything was in mint condition. The rooms very cosy, clean and with character and the kitchen has all the equipment you can think of.
The best treat was having Kathryn deliver her freshly baked breakfast every morning! Scones, muffins, tarts, savoury snacks and fresh fruit (I really mean it when I say fresh as it grows on site).
Kathryn and Joe are truly likeable, warm people.
The location of the farm is great, only a 20-minute drive to the Falls and 15 minutes to Niagara-on-the-Lake. The nearby Welland locks are definitely worth a visit and so are the many wineries and maple syrup factories.
We would definitely go back and we highly recommend this place. We already miss it. -

Left on 08/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We had a fantastic week at this farm cottage- exactly what it was set up to be! location is perfect, on a nice quiet farm with gorgeous view of the lake. delicious and fresh breakfast pastries and fruits from the hosts was a super nice bonus. cottage very clean and welcoming-- small, but functional. amenities just right, including a bonfire pit with firewood. felt perfect for a quiet, low key getaway we needed, away from city life; yet close enough to major shops within 10 minutes if needed. also, close to great wineries, restaurants/bars in charming towns, and 20 minutes only to Niagara Falls amusement/events. on top of all of that, the best part was the hospitality of the wonderful couple who own the land and cottages. Our young children came back home still talking about the exciting and infamous "Farmer Joe"-- who gave us fun tours and a wagon ride through the farm. We look forward to returning during our next trip to North america.

Left on 08/21/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My family stayed at the Lakehouse Cottage from July 30th through august 2nd 2012 and had an absolutely wonderful time. I feel that this was perfectly situated close enough to attractions while not being in the "thick of things". Kathryn took the time every day to make us feel like part of her family. The personal touch we received with our stay is second to none.
We received a wonderful breakfast every morning consisting of freshly baked goodies which gave us a great start to the day.
There is no a/C in the cottage which is not that big of a deal despite what you might initially think. During our stay it was 33C (~40C with the humidex) almost every day and not once did I feel overwhelmed. The cool breeze off the lake coupled with many windows and ceiling fans made for a very comfortable stay.
One of the best parts of this cottage for us was the full kitchen. When we arrived we immediately went into St. Catharines and purchased our perishable food items which saved hundreds of dollars on eating out. No parent would dare argue with this convenience.
In contrast to the traditional 2 queen hotel room we had the night before, this is outstanding with no comparison. My wife and I enjoyed this so much we have decided never to stay in a traditional "hotel" room with the kids again unless we have no choice.
There is no bathtub in this cottage for those of you that are strict bathers. This wasn't an issue for us.
I can't say that there was one thing we needed that we couldn't find. Paper towels, dish soap, plates, kids glasses (plastic) it was all there.
If you go during peach season be sure to pick up a basket. Literally the best peaches I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Big, juicy, sweet. Do not take this for granted! Ontario produce is the best!
Thank you Kathryn and Joe for the wonderful experience. I'm sure my kids won't forget the golf cart ride and chicken catching lesson!

Great place, beautifull view and cottage very nicely decorated and furnished. The owners thought about everything! There's even Cu-tips in the bathroom! Bbq, fireplace outside, cable, dvd's, games. The owner are friendly. The breakfast is well done, fresh but a bit sweet. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll probably like it. if not, keep it as a dessert later. We'll surely come back.

Location is great, close to Port Dalhousie, not far away from Niagara-on-the-lake or Niagara Falls. Love the food from the stand and the peaches. Would appreciate opportunity of having a choice between breakfast and rebate at the stand. (we are picky and eat very early). Cottage well equiped with everything you need.

The cottage was perfect for our family of 4. The kids could run around on the grass while we enjoyed the gorgeous view - vineyards to the south and Lake Ontario to the north. The hosts, Kathryn & Joe, went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable (they offered us a portable aC unit when the temp hit 42 degrees celsius!). Great location for touring wineries, playing golf, and the beach in Port Dalhousie. We will definitely be back!

absolutely fantastic place for a great getaway !..I met up with a great friend that i hadn't seen in 12 yrs, and we had such a great time. Everyone always mentions the "extras" with a personal touch, but it is so true. We looked forward to the breakfast platter-knowing that it was homebaked goods (made it that much more special) and the chitchatting with you every morning was wonderful..all the insights to the place and surrounding areas. The knowledge that Joe had for the natural environment, that both Kathryn and Joe had, with the interests for the local native birds and animals was wonderful to listen to. We had such fun checking out the local areas and what it offerred. Definitely a great retreat from the every day routine.
Only thing i can think of that would have made this a definite "10", would be if you had air-conditioning in the cottages, or an indoor pool area (indoor, because there are alot of Canada geese! haha)
Thank you again for a wonderful visit..letting us stay a couple of extra hours because of a late flight time, was exceptional.. Would go again ..take care Doris, Edmonton, AlbertaResponse from Kathryn Ferretti - 08/05/2012

Thank you for your review. It was nice to see that the two of you were always so happy. I am glad that your reunion worked out so well. We have had some warm weather this summer and have spent a little more time jumping into the lake to cool off that is for sure. Usually the evening cools off enough with the breeze off the lake. Ontario definately has warmer weather than you are used to in Alberta though : ) Have a wonderful rest of the summer - Kathryn

We stayed in a two bedroom cottage with all the fixings. The cottage overlooked Lake Ontario. It was one of the hottest weeks on record but there was a nice breeze coming off the lake that cooled everything to a comfortable level. Our intention was to see Niagara Falls without staying at a tourist attraction. This was perfect. Kathyn and Joe were delightful and the pastries served in the morning were to die for.

I reserved the Riesling cottage for 5 ladies to celebrate my Moms 70th birthday. The cottage was clean and cozy and had everything we needed for the weekend. We especially liked the books on birds and St. Catharine's. We spent most of our time on the deck just looking out at the lake or wandering the property. It's a beautiful place to pour a glass of wine and go for a walk through the fields of peach trees and grapevines. We hope to come back again!

Our twp-day stay in the Lakehouse cottage was just the best. The cottage was spacious and well-appointed. Kathryn and Joe were excellent hosts who had thought of everything - down to the level of a first aid kit, scissors and scotch tape - just in case such things were needed. But the crowning glory was the very calming view of Lake Ontario. I could have sat there for weeks. We truly hated to leave. I stayed in this apartment as a writing retreat to myself for three days. Valerie is very friendly and accommodating. The unit was clean, spacious and close to everything. About a 10+ walk to the main strip. LCBO 2 minutes away. Towels and bedsheets were lovely. So was the air conditioning. I did have to buy some toothpaste although there was shampoo, soap, salt, pepper, coffee, tea provided. The only thing I didn't like was the lighting which was a bit harsh - if you care about that sort of thing. I'm not a fan of florescent lights and used some of the warmer lighting from the bedroom lamps in the main space. Other than that - it was great.

We had booked all four cottages, and all of them have very good privacy and everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.

I absolutely adored the cottage. The weather did not cooperate, but it was a wonderful experience. The view is gorgeous and I have talked to my family about having reunions there. My daughter is a teen and I was worried when we found out ours was one of the cottages without internet. She did not complain once and had some friends over to have a bonfire, pick pumpkins in the patch and just enjoy the outdoors. How refreshing that was. All of the teens loved it! The breakfasts were wonderful and the decorating inside and out was fantastic. If you want a quiet, peaceful retreat, this is it! It was convenient to shopping and if there was any problem, Joe was there. Being from a warm climate, it took some getting used to, but it was well worth it and hopefully can make it a yearly event. I wouldn't consider staying in a hotel after this experience! My daughter feels the same! Great farm and cottages!

We've been staying at the Vineland cottage since it first opened (every May & Oct). Beautiful setting, lovely hardy continental breakfast, fabulous amenities, and friendly hosts. Every detail has been considered - even basic kitchen staples like olive oil and seasonings. Close to the wine route, nestled among grape vines and peach trees with a glorious view of the lake. Close enough to drive to tourist destinations but far enough away to be a haven. Charming farmstand (fruits/vegetables/baked goods) just down the driveway (but not within view of the cottage). Never mind going to the local restaurants - pick up some local produce, a bottle of Ontario wine, some baked goods and sit on the deck (BBQ & firepit included)! Selfishly, we'd like it to stay a hidden gem.

We had a fabulous stay at the Vineyard Cottage. It is perfect for families and my children had the time of their lives. The views of the lake are incredible - I could never get enough pictures of the lake, especially the sunset. Kathryn and Joe were wonderful. So warm and friendly!! We loved the breakfast tray in the morning and we bought delicious corn on the cob from the farm stand for dinner. They thought of everything in and around the cottage. We used the grill, made bonfires and smores. They even had sticks/forks for roasting marshmellows. Kathryn was sweet enough to help my children surprise us for our anniversary! The location is great if you are an active family. We went to Niagara Falls twice, Welland Canal, a winery, Niagara on the Lake, Port Dalhousie, biking and went swimming in the lake. There was so much more we wanted to do but ran out of time --- we really hope to return someday soon!

This place is so great. Simply a little paradise in Ontario. Great decoration inside and outside in a very peaceful environment. Everything is there for us to enjoy, wood fire in the evening and a beautiful breakfast plate in the morning. Kathryn and Joe are 2 wonderful hosts, just like friends, and they make us feel at home. We can't wait to go back. This is the place to stay!

Staying in the Riesling Cottage at Nokara Farms was simply splendid. Not only did our hosts Kathryn and Joe make the cottage feel like our home away from home, they made us feel like a part of their family. Kathryn's incredible baked goods and farm stand goodies (not to mention a few little surprises for our three-year old daughter) made our stay even more terrific. We traveled to the area for a family wedding, and we left with some wonderful friends at Nokara. We will certainly be back to visit!

I can't say enough about this beautiful cottage and it's owners...the location, the decor, the comfort level, the hospitality...all 5+ stars! Couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate my 36th birthday with my girlfriends...have already booked again for next month! Thank you so much to Kathryn for making our stay really special :)

We as a family enjoyed the rest and hospitality offered to us by Kathryn and Joe at Nokara Farms. Our days at the farm were blessed with warm sunshine and a cool breeze off the lake. If you like a clean environment, green grass, fresh air and quietness to relax and reflect then this is it. We especially would like to say the breakfasts at Nokara with Kathryn bringing you a tray of warmly baked banana bread or coconut scones and oat meal cookies, gave us a fabulous start to the day. When we were leaving we could only hope to return once more to feel the same surprise at ourselves and our time of renewal.

The cottage was everything one could hope for and more. The scenery was breathtaking. The cottage was furnished with everything we needed. Joe and Kathryn were more like friends than caretakers by the time we left. And breakfast - other than the fact I think I gained five pounds that week because of it - it was excellent!!! This vacation was probably the best we have ever had!

My husband, myself and another couple stayed in the Chardonay cottage owend by Joe and Kathryn Feretti. The cottage was beautifully decorated, the view of the Toronto skyline was amazing and our hosts were very warm and welcoming. We were greeted each morning with homemade baked goods. We would definately go back for another visit.
