Sugar Bay House, an elegant hill top villa with spectacular 270 degree water views is one of the best St.Croix villa rentals. The house is architect designed in the style of a traditional West Indian Great House and can sleep 8 in 4 air conditioned bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The house is situated around a large pool insuring privacy and tranquility. The outdoor living space is delightful and features outdoor double beds for sunning or gazing at the stars! Harry's Bar, the house's own pub also opens up onto the large deck or can be accessed from the Great Room itself. The house is equipped with wireless internet.

This St. Croix villa rental is ideally located at the center of the island's north shore, an easy drive to either of the island's two colonial towns, Christiansted or Frederiksted, for shopping, sightseeing, and fine dining. It is located on a small hilltop overlooking the Salt River National Park and Columbus Landing. The nearest beach, Columbus Landing is a 5 minute walk or a 2 minute drive, and there are also numerous beautiful beaches within a 10 minute drive of the house.

Having ventured around the Caribbean islands and staying in many rental homes, Sugar Bay House really stands out among the rest. Once you enter through the Mahogany doors paradise truly awaits you. The attention to outdoor living detail and comfort was truly recognized. The 4 master bedrooms with their double French doors welcome the breeze and as you wake the next morning you have the beautiful views of the pool, terrace and ocean out of every space in the house. The owners have truly thought of everything from the extremely clean outdoor gas grill under the overhang, to candles, to a kitchen which had everything I was looking for and I didn't have to rewash the dishes before using them! This house is full of charm, comfort, beautiful furnishings and clean! The caretaker Peter was a welcomed addition! Not only did he have warm banana bread upon our arrival but asked when we might be waking so he could bring up blueberry muffins from the oven! Delicious! He was helpful in giving us a tour of the house and a brief history of the island. He was there to answer any and all questions but left you in complete privacy too. It was nice to know that someone was always there even if you didn't see him. My husband and I were traveling with 2 teenage daughters and their friend and you can never be too sure about safety. The island felt very safe for exploring and the house continued that feeling of security. The neighborhood we thought was one of the nicest. The house is situated that you can't see another house just the beautiful ocean views. We truly enjoyed our visit to St. Croix and will definitely come back to Sugar Bay House. Thanks again! The view from the house is unbelieveable!! The house itself is great for family and friends - each bedroom is en suite and opens onto the pool courtyard which is stunning! Lots of privacy or you can be together at the outside dinning pavillion or in the gorgeous great room with the incredible view!! Best to rent a car so you can enjoy St. Croix - don't miss shopping in Christianstead, diving at Cane Bay and touring the Rain Forest on an aTV!! Cook in the fabulous kitchen or dine at one of the great restaurants!!

My extended family and I stayed at Sugar Bay House June 21-28 2011 and we found it very difficult to leave for the return home! The location is perfect, lots of privacy and secluded but still a short drive to nearby Frederiksted. Harry's Bar and the pool were the most appreciated amenities. The views from the veranda are simply breathtaking. Eating dinner outdoors most evenings, we were able to watch the sailboats in the bay and wind down to the most magnificent sunsets. The caretaker, Peter, surprised us upon our late night arrival with a delicious meal awaiting us after a brief tour of the villa. Everything you need for a luxurious, totally worry-free holiday is to be found at Sugar Bay House!

The Sugar Bay House is truly an amazing oasis. One can never tire of the 360 degree tropical views... I just couldn't stop gazing at the crystal blue waters of the Salt River, Caribbean Sea and lush green mountains. Every morning I opened my eyes to the most beautiful sunrise... each day the colors were more magical than the day before!!
The villa has a great location as well. It's an easy drive to the two island towns, Fredriksted and Christiansted. The wonderfully appealing area of Cane Bay, with it's fantastic snorkeling and cluster of excellent restaurants (with nightlife!!) is a very short drive from the house.
One of the highlights of my stay was enjoying a mahi mahi omlette (prepared by my husband with the fish I caught on a trip with Captain Carl) under the gazebo on the beautiful veranda. We enjoyed our tea and coffee there every morning. The first morning we were there, Peter, the property manager, surprised us with delicious strawberry nut muffins fresh out of the oven. Peter is wonderfully helpful when you need him!!
I would highly recommend this property to anybody looking for a true escape to paradise. It's beautifully decorated; the views are amazing, location perfect. It's great for a family, a couple or up to 4 couples vacationing together (every bedroom opens onto the veranda and has a private bath)!! I didn't want to leave and we're already planning our next trip to the Sugar Bay House!!! -

This house provides all you need to have a fabulous relaxing getaway. The views are breathtaking. Great little towns and beaches to discover. The outdoor living space invites you just to be outside all the time. Great time!

Sugar Bay House in the Salt River area of St Croix is a fabulous getaway location. The villa is perfectly set up for groups of family and/or friends. Every amenity needed is provided; beautiful pool and outdoor areas; central island location; beautiful views of the area sunrise from the hilltop. Our two-week stay was perfect! Can't wait to visit our home away from home again next year!
