Fairfield is a traditional stone terrace cottage, dating back to the 1840s and is believed to have once been a sea captains cottage, reputedly built with stones from the Abbey nearby. Set on the hillside above the village of St Dogmaels, overlooking the ruins of St Dogmaels Abbey, the cottage offers wonderful views out over the small town to the beautiful Teifi estuary and the sea. Renovated throughout to a high standard yet retaining original features with slate and wooden floors and sash windows. There are two cosy sitting rooms, both with a wood burning stove for those chillier evenings and a modern fitted kitchen/diner leading to the rear... where gated steep steps lead up to the terraced garden. The top lawned area is worth the climb; the views are breathtaking over the valley and estuary.Comfortably furnished with traditional pieces, the bedrooms are delightful, with the rooms to the front offering lovely views over the estuary and towards the Abbey ruins. A steep downhill walk takes you to the shops, pubs and the popular fish and chip shop, which is highly recommended. Enjoy walks along the Teifi estuary which teams with birds and wildlife and is perfect for those who enjoy messing around on the water. Join the start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, only 1 mile away, at Poppit Sands and explore this wonderful coastline. The market town of Cardigan is only a few minutes drive with its excellent farmers market, specialist shops and restaurants. A boat trip round Cardigan Bay to see the resident bottle nose dolphins, porpoises and grey seals will be a highlight of any holiday. A wonderful characterful holiday cottage, ideal for couples or families, whatever the season. This is a no smoking property.Read more
