Accommodation and facilities
"Le Village Gaulois" is made up of 4 small ski apartment buildings and 66 ski chalets conveniently located just 100m from the "Marquis" chair-lift.
Depending on exactly where they are in the village, the maximum distance from the chalets or apartments to the pistes is a mere 200m. The wooden clad buildings and their sunny balconies are stretched along the mountainside and inter...connected by stairways, blending perfectly with the alpine surroundings.
The shops, bar, restaurant and ski school at the "Rond Point des Pistes" are no more than 100m away so all your daily requirements are readily to hand. Residents have free access to an indoor heated swimming pool and there are two saunas for which a supplement is payable.
There is a variety of well appointed ski accommodation in Le Village Gaulois, ranging from 4 person ski apartments to 8 person individual ski chalets.
The 2 bedroom ski chalet for 7 people measures approximately 37/40m² and has a balcony/terrace measuring 6m² as well as its own private ski-locker.
The kitchenette, which adjoins the living area, is fully equipped with a 4-ring hob and extractor hood, a microwave, a fridge, a dish washer, a toaster and an electric coffee maker as well as the necessary pots and pans, cutlery and crockery.
In the living area is a pull out sofa bed which makes two single beds and there is one bedroom with a double bed.
There is a bathroom and WC.
On the first floor, there is a bedroom with three single beds, and a second bathroom with WC.
Either sun loungers or a garden table and chairs are provided for use on the balcony.
There is a laundrette 200m from the residence.
Because of the layout of Le Village Gaulois, which clings to the hillside and is interspersed with stairways, we do not recommend the residence for clients who have any difficulties with mobility.
Saint François Longchamp is a typical alpine village set in magnificent surroundings, below the Col de la Madeleine pass and between the Lauzière mountain range and the Cheval Noir massif. It offers magnificent panoramas of the Belledonne and Oisans mountain ranges as well as a breath-taking view of Mont Blanc.
The skiing area Saint François Longchamp-Valmorel, is the fifth-largest in the Savoie region, situated just below the Madeleine pass which links the Maurienne and the Tarentaise regions. The resort is a good starting point for beginners, but also offers slopes for the ones who enjoy a challenge! You have the choice of skiing the St-François Longchamp area (65 km of pistes including 8 green, 12 blue, 5 red and 3 black runs served by 17 lifts) . Or you can ski the pistes of the Grand Domaine, from the Maurienne to the Tarentaise valley (Saint-François Longchamp/Valmorel) via 165km of marked pistes for all levels of expertise.
In short, Saint-François Longchamp offers all that you need: good snow conditions, an open, sunny, ski-ing area which is easily accessible, good amenities, a wide variety of activities and entertainment, good facilities for all the family, relaxation and a huge dose of fresh air and "white gold".
