With its private pool surrounded by enough patio
space for chaises and 2 tables with umbrellas, Kenmare
provided an oasis in a week of delightfully hot and sunny
weather. The sandy path to the beach delivered us to the
warm waters of the Gulf in minutes. We spent mornings on the
lovely screened porch- complete with fans and comfortable
furniture- on the level with the treetops. I think the block has only
one other house on it. So quiet and relaxing. Perfect outdoor shower
and a kitchen overstuffed with anything you might need. The twin bed
mattresses creaked with every move, but if you have kids in them
versus adults no issue. Other beds very comfortable. We rented
bikes - love the island bike paths. We will be back!
Beautiful home ... We really enjoyed the pool area and tikki bar as well as the billiard room. The decks were very enjoyable and comfortable. Beautifully decorated with lots of windows to enjoy the view of the surrounding pines. The walk to the beach is not too far and is pleasant. The only issue we had was with the icemaker on the refrigerator - it just couldn't keep with our need for ice (and we were not heavy consumers of ice)... Our family will definitely consider this home again.

four couples and we had fun.. small issues but nothing to speak of. the gas grill was chained up not to be used and the elevator not in use and that would of been nice since there is so many flights of steps our legs got a workout... I cant say enough about how nice it was to have the pool and the screened in porch.. our stay was great the a/c stopped on the top floor but was fixed that same day no sweat, lol... the office was great and helpful.. looking forward to poss. going back. the home has plenty of space and well stocked with things needed.. quiet and beautiful in and out. many walks to the beach area. the bugs had their moments now and again very bad . over all we still talk about it being great .

Great house for families. We really enjoyed the kitchen area and the pool mostly. At home, we are always so busy in the evenings - but at the beach house we sat around the huge dinner table every night and ate together and then generally played games (some that we had brought and some that were in the house). There wasn't a dish that we didn't find in the kitchen. We were amazed at all the kitchen had to offer! It was nice to also have the games and puzzles for the kids when they needed down-time from the heat. The driveway was very welcoming too - lots of plants and flowers and even a garden!

Overall, the house was perfect for our family...3 adult couples and 2 14-year old girls. The TV in master bedroom did not work. We had a power outage which we understood had happened 3 times in the recent past, and the house was not equipped with flashlights. It was an easy walk to the beach and the pool was great!
We have used other vacation rental homes and it would have been nice for the kitchen to be better stocked with basic paper goods as well as cooking oil, etc. Time to throw away the frying pan! There was also a problem with hot water in the kitchen sink.

The house was very nice but could use some new linens. It would have been nice to be able to use the elevator as I was in a walking cast. We had aC and refrigerator issues. The aC was promptly fixed but the ice maker was not fixed. We had live crabs in the pool several days. This is very isolated which is what makes it so wonderful. But one day we decided to venture out and had to drive to Panama City to find a movie theater playing the new pirate movie. Overall we loved it. The water is not the caribbean look you get in Destin so don't bring any snorkle stuff. Bring your e reader and lots of suns screen.

We love Kenmare - it's perfect for our family. But on this trip there were disappointments. The ceiling fan in the bedroom I stayed in was so coated with dust that I couldn't turn it on. There are pots and pans in the kitchen covered with mildew - a box of baking soda tucked in to hide the odor. A new cleaning crew might be in order.
the house was wonderful - our only complaint was check-in; the house was not ready at what was supposed to be check-in time. we were tired after a long drive and were irritated with the realty company that we couldn't get our key until well after the check-in time.

We loved the pool at Kenmare and the extras like pool table and bocce court. Easy nice walk to the beach which was never crowded. We also enjoyed biking each morning. The only negative was the house could have been cleaner. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need.

Our family said that we should not tell anyone about this wonderful place so that it will remain ours forever to rent each year. But that would not be fair. So all we could say is that it was the best place we have stayed in. We felt like it was our place. It was so well designed for a large family to have room to spread. Everything was there that we needed in the kitchen. We all loved it. Just check in at the rentl office needs to be improved. To come at 4:00pm and have to wait with a room full of people also waiting to check in was not good. We did not get the place till 4:30pm since it was still being cleaned. Plus no one came to check to see if the cleaners had done their job. Everything was clean even the grounds outside and the pool area. Now that our grandkids are growing we will need bunk beds too bad that this is not offered otherwise we would definitly return to this beautiful, wonderful place.
Best House we have ever stayed in on the plantation !!!

We enjoyed St. George plantation as we always do. The weather was great and the beach gorgeous. The house we rented this time is a keeper. We have been coming to the Island since 1989 and have stayed in about 12 different houses..some beach front, some bay front and some beachside. I was skeptical when I booked this house because it was a little furtherback. We quickly fell in love with this house, the porches, the great pool and tikki bar, the fully equipped kitchen, pool table, bocce court etc. We lived on the screen porch!!! The walk to the beach was straight down a lovely path and it was not far.

We have rented many nice vacation homes on many beaches, but this one was one of the very best. The proximity to the beach, the pool, outdoor shower, and the amazing kitchen were highlights. I enjoyed using some of the herbs in the garden for my cooking. The difference at Kenmare was that it was obvious by the touches added- it is someone's home. Not just a rental and they want everyone to enjoy it as much as they do. Our kids said "We have to come back next year!"
