Vicksburg MSHuge beautiful house across the street from the beach
Left on 10/15/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This house is perfect for large groups...we had 20 people and this was the only rental we could find that would fit everyone comfortably. Each of the six king bedrooms have a private bath, which makes it perfect for several families to stay together. The double refrigerators and dishwashers and two living areas were also useful for such a large group. This house is so big that it didn't feel cramped with 20 people.
It has a pool, hot tub, kayak, and is right across the strieet from the beach, which meant that there was plenty of things for everyone to do. This area is in a gated community and was very quiet-it was almost like we had the beach to ourselves. The town on the island is also very low-key...perfect for a relaxing beach trip.
The only real critique of this house is that with the hardwood floors, the noise echoes around the house and it can be as noisy as a bowling alley! However, this was just a minor nuisance that was overshadowed by the sheer awesomeness of this gigantic beautiful house. -

AtlantaThis is intrinsically a nice house, but it is not being kept up
Left on 04/11/2012 for a stay in April 2012
The house was not ready at the prescribed time because they were still cleaning. The cleaners missed a dishwasher full of food encrusted dishes, a sticky dining table and a litter of cigarette butts and beer caps on the screened porch. The elevator, the hot tub, two of the four burners on the countertop, one refrigerator, and one dishwasher either did not work properly or did not work at all. The outdoor grill is rusted through and barely usable. By the end of the week, only the elevator had been fixed and stayed fixed. The hot tub heated the water for one day before breaking again. The weather was lovely, but we could not leave windows open due to missing screens and broken blinds.
On the plus side, it is a good location and a nice house for a large group. If everything worked, it would get five stars. Giving service three stars may be too kind, but there was a steady stream of repairmen - they just had to order parts or could not fix what was wrong. The dishwasher stopped draining toward the end of our week and the promised plumber never did show up. -

We love being close to the cut for fishing. We love the location with the boardwalk so close.
The house plan is very nice, with everything you need.
The only thing missing is some of the stainless steel cookware, but even that is not a big deal.
I would definitely stay there again. -

Atlanta, GAImportant missing items
Left on 08/10/2011 for a stay in May 2011
To prpoerly enjoy the barbequing efforts, the property needs one or two picnic tables in the back yard. We had looked forward to using the 2 person kayak, however, no life preservers were in evidence. No one shuld use a kayak withouot life preservers, There should have been some there. Salt and pepper shakers were also not provided.
We enjoyed the property, particularly the kitchen. The loft was useless for our family - steps were too dangerous for kids and adults. We weren't pleased to be given 3 sets of keys, none of which worked. We had to stand around and wait for replacements. -

Jonesboro, GAA great house for a large group.
Left on 07/27/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We loved the house but it is too expensive for us to do it again in the same house. It is a wonderful layout for all ages. We had family members from 3-87 years old
(21 people)with us. The kitchen was wonderful. Great layout and well equipted.
The mosquitos were terrible...No beyond terrible. Can't someone be contracted to spray the island and dead pools? It's not all that big.
We love coming to St. George Island as a family. We love the quiet and lack of commercial places i.e. amuzement parks, putter golf, etc. It makes for a great family time together. -

Left on 04/06/2011 for a stay in March 2011
Relax N Style is a nice house in a great location. It's large, close to the beach, and has provides a kayak for guest use -- a nice touch. The pool heater also worked as promised, something that has been an issue with my other rentals on SGI.
Cleanliness was a bit of an issue. Quite a few window sashes, for example, had months worth of dust. The same was true of some baseboards. There were also a fair number of dents and holes in certain walls. On a related note, the sliding door shade in one of the bedrooms was broken and has been stashed outside on the adjoining balcony when we arrived. Our message asking that this be addressed went unanswered.
Overall a good house and a good rental experience. Attention to the matters above would make it top notch.Response from St. George Island Vacation Properties - 06/09/2011

This home is has exceptional decorations, right down to the custom blinds. They were removed to allow for easier opening of the sliding glass door. Unfortunately, the blinds had been on back-order and were not available for replacement at the time of this guest's stay. The hole in the wall has been repaired and cleanliness issues have been addressed. Relax-N-Style continues to be one of our most enjoyed homes.

St. Louis MissouriBeautiful House - Not well maintained
Left on 03/30/2011 for a stay in March 2011
This was our 9th visit to St. George Island since 1998. The house was very pretty and located where we wanted (closer to Bob Sikes Cut). It would have been perfect except for several things that were wrong in the house. One of the bedroom privacy shades was so damaged the sliding door could not be used. After leaving two messages with Sgivp and not receiving an info back, we removed them. The second floor air conditioning unit needed to be repaired before it could be used. It was fixed, but the Sgivp staff did not keep us informed of the progress of this. A repair man just showed up. The biggest problem was the smoke detector system was malfunctioning and went off at 3:30am one night. We had to turn off the power at the circuit breaker to get the alarm to stop sounding. Although we left two messages for Sgivp, we never heard from them and no one showed up to check or repair the system. I wrote them a note and put it in the key drop box when we left. Lots of little things wrong with the house...batteries in remote controls that were corroded so they would not work, almost all the lights on the porches are burned out, lights below the house burned out and one of the freezers in the kitchen was so frosted over that the ice dispenser would not work. Such a pretty house, such a pretty place too bad it is not being taken care of like it should. Over all we had a very good time during our week at St. George in spite of the house issues.

first day usage of the screened in pool resulted in all family members receiving a large number of insect bytes! The pool basically could not be used because of the large number of insects inside of the screen area.
The master bedroom TV had no extension cord and was not used during the entire stay.
Some damage of the property existed:
1. The shower outside of the pool area has damaged door.
2. The stairway leading to the kids pirate bunkbed area had a hole in the wall.
3. The bumper pool table was broken and unusable

Columbus, GAPhenomenal Vacation!
Left on 08/11/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We had a total of 5 families stay in this house with 8 children. There was plenty of room for everyone with room to spare. We loved to 2 living areas, 2 refrigerators, huge kitchen tables with room for everyone to eat and the way the kitchen was fully stocked for the large number of people. We used the kayak every day and loved getting out in the ocean with the dolphins. The proximity to the beach is perfect for not being on the beach, the boardwalk is directly across the street from the house.
The only negative is that we couldn't get an early check in as we arrived 2 hours prior to the check in time, the pool is a little small for the size of the house and the septic tank had some issues.
Fabulous fabulous vacation, we will consider renting this house again next year. -

This house was absolutely perfect for my family. My parents, their five children and spouses along with several children/teenagers enjoyed the greatness of this beach house. There was ample room for everyone. One our favorite gathering places was around the pool. The bedrooms were spacious and private. The kitchen was awesome! It had all we needed to prepare for the crowd. The boardwalk to the beach was only a few steps from the driveway. Thanks for a lifetime of memories!

We had a beach wedding and had plenty of room for everyone. With as many kids almost as adults there was plenty for them to do. If they werent on the beach they were at the pool or in the gameroom. There was enough space so that no one got underneath any ones feet. We had 7 families there one night, 25 people, and there was room for all. Everyone loved the house. My beach wedding was beautiful with acess from the great boardwalk and the other residents were so friendly and helpful. Even the guards at the gate assisted us with guests. It was a wonderful experience.
