      Nice Stay, Great Location

      This was our first time to SGI. We loved it and plan on returning! We loved the location of the condo and the area is nice. Just a few steps to the beach and nice pool. We choose this condo because it was pet friendly. When we arrived the carpets had just been cleaned and were still slightly damp, but it was nice to know the carpet was clean.
      The pictures on the website actually reflect the condo. Although you can tell the decor was getting to be outdated. The wallpaper is starting to peel in the bathrooms and the master bedroom has some water stains on the walls. Could use some decent wine glasses in the kitchen. Also, some of the electrical outlets need to be replaced since they were worn on the inside and didn't work. (specifically on the wall on the right as you walk in and the outlet outside by the front door). We enjoyed our stay, everyone was so nice that we meet and we hope to return next year!

      Thank you for sharing your vacation rental feedback with us. The second bedroom in this unit is not a master suite. The bathroom is located in the hallway adjacent to the bedroom. We assume you mean you’d like to see a door installed at the top of the stairs to close off this area from the public due to the fact that the bathroom is in the hallway & not located within the bedroom.       Disappoint in Unit D-2

      I will be respectful and constuctive with my comment although the unit was a disappointment. We did enjoy the location and size of the unit with easy access to the pool and it had a outside shower.
      I have hesitated for quite some time about commenting on our stay. We were so hot and had been waiting on our unit since we arrived early on Saturday in August. We were aware that check in time was 4pm but had hoped it could be ready sooner. We finally ask if the unit was ready and was told it hadn't been inspected and we could sign a waiver which we did just to get in out of the heat 45 minutes early. Upon arrival the unit did not look much like the picture on the internet and wasn't decorated in the fashion shown. We had two comodes out of the three were unclean and had stool marks which we cleaned up right away before using. Also the coffee table had had a glass top but it was missing. It wasn't long before we stepped on lose glass that apparently was still in the carpet.This was a pet friendly unit and for the first time we traveled with our pet and foung that immediately our dog began scratching and our legs began to itch. We were able to resolve that the unit had fleas which we had to coup with. We also found that one TV had three remotes and it took us a while to determine which worked the TV in the living room. The bed in the smaller bedroom had a board between the mattress and the box springs and was very sqeaky. The kitchen was poorly equipped and the toaster found was not usable. We had them bring us another toaster. I am sorry to have so many issued and could go on; however, in fairness to the owners I am unsure if they were aware that the unit had some issues. Also, we could see that the owners certainly made a good choice on the location, etc.
      To add to this delimma on Wedneday a tornado touched down on the island and all power went out and we had to leave and lost a great deal of purchased food.

      We sincerely apologize for the condition of Ocean Mile D-2. Our house cleaners have very strict guidelines and a detailed checklist that they use and we have no explanation of how this home was left in this manner. We appreciate your fairness in disclosing that your check-in was early and that the property had yet to be inspected. We understand how frustrating it is to have to wait until 4:00 pm for check-in and your experience is why we try to be firm about it. We have limited time between guest departure and arrival and we need every minute to make sure each property is in perfect order. Our inspections are very important and the key to our quailty assurance. Each inspector also has a checklist which must be followed and they have full authority to call back the cleaners. Again, we apologize for this experience and we assure you it is not the norm. After researching other items in your post, we also want to thank you for calling in some of the maintenance issues listed here. With respect to the coffee table, it appears from our records that the previous guest reported the broken table glass on the day they departed - the same day of your check-in. As you might imagine, because we are on a barrier island, it usually takes a little longer to have repairs of certain items made. It is unacceptable that glass was left in the carpet. The pet treatment and carpet clean was performed after departure and as you mentioned, the toaster was immediately replaced upon notification. We recognize how frustrating this must have been and we apologize. Finally, every effort is made to accurately represent each property in our marketing materials and in fact, updated pictures are regularly made of each home. Please rest assured that our priorities are to ensure that your experience on St. George Island is stress-free - that the condition of your accommodations is the last thing on your mind. Please accept our sincere apology.
