There's an extra large loft overlooking the Gulf and Bay; it can be used as an extra bedroom or a quiet get-away to read a good book. There are 5 large bedrooms, two are master suites with beautiful views, private sundecks and jetted tubs. An extra large family room with gas fireplace, big screen HDTV & Bose stereo. Our 2012 family vacation and 6th year returning to SGI was perfect. Resort Vacation Properties and staff we great, keeping us informed through Facebook of the previous week's hurricane concerns and were delighted that everything at Bernot House was in great condition for our arrival.
We were greeted on our first morning with evidence of loggerhead activity as tracks led from shore line to nesting site and back to the water. The weather cooperated with sunny skies and calm seas. Every day we enjoyed the dolphins. We rented kayaks and paddled in and out all week even venturing over to Little St George island.
The house suited our group of 9 well with comfortable surroundings and room for everyone. We came to SGI for the beach and spent most of our time on the beach. Evenings we cooked wonderful seafood, played games and star gazed from the deck.
We have already booked out 2013 vacation at Bernot House!

We loved the open design of this home and its close proximity to Sikes Cut (we like to fish). This house is a luxurious, yet comfortable family home and we had a very relaxing stay. The pictures don't do it justice. Loved that the kitchen was both open to the rest of the living area and provided a stunning view of the beach. We'll be back next year and wish this home would be upgraded to a capacity of 12 (2 of our grandchildren "camped out" on the 3rd floor leaving 2 twin beds unused) since we will have 2 more people with us next year!

As always, the service we received from Resort Vacation Properties was outstanding. They receive our business every year for good reason. The property itself was poorly furnished, did not have enough seating for the number of people it was advertised to hold (thankfully we had fewer travellers and this did not directly impact us.) The stereo did not work, the TV did not work, and during our stay the oven and stove quit working. The oven/range was replaced the same day, but it did mean time off the beach. I love me some SGI and have been coming for 17 years with only a few years off for medical reasons. I will continue to vacation with RVP and encourage others to do so, just maybe not at this property. No wait, really not at this property.

We have been to SGI 8 times and have always enjoyed it. The home had great space and great views. The only thing is the drains where slow in the showers

Our extended family came and we had a really wonderful time. The weather was superb, great meals at home and at local eating spots. The house was very nice. Very clean...only complaint was stained carpet, leaky refridgerator and two TVs that wouldn't work.

The Bernot House was a great beach house for our vacation last year. We have been renting at St. George for years and enjoyed this house very much. We will be renting it again in the future.
The view of the Gulf was fantastic. The bedrooms were nicely sized (the master is huge!) and the open living/kitchen/dining keet everyone connected. The porches all the way around the house and the many sliding doors proved essential when power was cut off to the island. We opened all the doors and the summer breeze helped us keep our cool. We would have been miserable in most of the other houses we have stayed in. The pool table was in constant use and kept us entertained while the power was off. The cues could have used some repair though.
Renting from Resort Vacation Properties is great. The all-inclusive pricing makes it easy to determine how much it will cost you and I really like the various discounts they offer. -

Our whole family spent a wonderful week on St. George Island. The Bernot house had everything we needed plus a fantastic view. Every morning it was so peaceful to get up to the Gulf at our finger tips. The house was clean and comfortable.

In the first place, the Plantation at st. George Island has been an annual regular for our family for years. We have never been disappointed with the facilities or service.
The Bernot house was outstanding as a beach front, relatively close to the cut so location wise great. In addition, the layout of the house was perfect for our needs. The house is well maintained and decorated. We would definitely return for a "revisit". -

The Bernot is a GREAT house, comfortable, great views, an entertainment for the whole family; however, the highspeed internet that was advertised as included was not available until the end of the week when a gateway was brought to the house, and there was an ant problem inside the house.
