TallahasseeA Nice Family Spring Break
Left on 04/16/2012 for a stay in March 2012
St. George Island is the perfect location for a family spring break with young children. The house is located close to local food and entertainment, but far enough away to be in a very quiet and peaceful location. No loud parties and college atmosphere here... just a great place to bring young kids. The pros of the house included the accross the street and easily accessible proximity to the beach and the pool in the backyard. The house was also very clean and the laundry room was convenient for keeping up with sandy beach attire. The cons were the run down appearance of the property and a broken, inoperable window that we found upon our check in. The property management fixed the window within the first few days, but it certainly didn't add to the already lack luster appearance of the house. The house doesn't sparkle like I would have hoped, but it was sufficient for our bare minimum needs.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed a nice family spring break on St. George Island. We apologize that the window was inoperable upon your arrival. The window was broken during a thunderstorm when a gust of wind blew the door into the window. We were waiting on the glass technician to complete the repair. We regret that this repair could not be completed prior to your arrival. We appreciate your comments and will be passing them on to the homeowners for their review & consideration. Thank you for your patronage. We look forward to having you back as our guest again soon.

GeorgiaGreat Location, but house needs lots of work!
Left on 04/16/2012 for a stay in April 2012
The house is on the market and I understand why as it needs a lot of work. The pool has a leek and is very dirty. The kitchen did not have supplies for cooking for example no hot pads etc. I would not s tay here again. Sorry find another place that is close to the beach. Good location, but bad house.

Missouri Mary
Jefferson City, MissouriRelaxing and Comfortable
Left on 01/23/2012 for a stay in July 2011
My family found Cottage by the Sea very comfortable and relaxing. The front porch especially was enjoyed for the shade and the ability to sit in adirondack chairs and watch the waves roll in and out. We travel with teenagers and they all found a spot in the house to find privacy and seclusion. The adults especially enjoyed the pool and the privacy it afforded.
The only negative with the home was the eating area...with the number that the house holds, it was difficult to have a meal in a common area...too small for that.
Every home we have had through Resort Vacation Properties has been great and the service has been excellent. If there are no issues with the house, we are left alone...but when an issue arrives, service is quick and efficient. -

Cumming, GeorgiaDid not meet expectations. Owner needs to step it up!
Left on 06/27/2011 for a stay in June 2011
First let me stay that our review of this rental only reflects on what appears to be the owners lack of interest in this property (property is for sale) and not Resort Vacation Properties, as Resort Vacation properties were great. First, the house states it sleeps 10 people however, there is barely enough room for 5 people to eat! So if you need a dining room and plan to have more than 6 people eat, choose another property. This house does not offer that and there are only 6 stools for eating purposes. The "bistro table" had to be used for storing the food we brought as there was no pantry or area to put the food. You have to eat at the counter where you prepare food so it was not ideal for more than 5-6 people. There was no "double park style grill" as indicated in teh description, just some tiny random portable grill that was just awful and disgusting when we got there. Also, the desciption of the house is misleading as the "master bedroom" is the room that has the 2 beds. We have a 17 year old daughter, a 15 year old son and a 4 year old son. The boys were going to share the room with the 2 beds which we thought was downstairs. Turns out the room with the 2 beds is upstairs and is the master so my husband and I were stuck with the smaller bedroom downstairs. The house is in huge need of an overhaul. The little details that have made our other rentals so enjoyable were not in this rental. There were things falling apart like the towel rod that was just randomly "puttied" back onto the wall. The front porch was nasty and that is where we wanted to enjoy the beach/water views. The shower and deck area on the back of the house were nasty as well. The house needs to be pressure washed and the inside is just outdated. The bedroom with the bunk beds has bascially a bed and a TV stand, no other furniture. The TVs were tiny and there was no DVD player in teh family room for rainy days. The bathrooms downstrais had no counters and one thin shelf high up so there was basically nowhere to put anything. Our stuff just kept falling or we had to put it on the ground. I need several things for a family of 5 on a week long vaca and it was just annoying to watch my stuff almost fall into the toilet several times. The pool area was not well kept either and the outside of the house just looked run down. The pool was so murky when we got htere that they had to do a shock treatment on it, however, once again, resort vacation properties responded immediately to our problem so 2 thumbs up for the rental company! We did love the proximity to the beach, however, next year we will probably just rent something one row back and then rent a golf cart with the price difference as we were not impressed with the overall lack of TLC and run down feeling of this house. While we would recommend the rental company, we would not recommend this beach house until someone steps in and actual makes the effort to make this the cozy little cottage the description / pictures make it out to be. Not impressed. Oh, and all the blankets had sand spurs! Eww!

Jefferson, GeorgiaIts a great location and we enjoyed our stay
Left on 01/07/2010 for a stay in September 2009
The home is older and we had to have repair person come to fix a ceiling fan and gate to pool first thing. Kitchen utensils were old and some not even unuseable. I think maybe because the home was up for sale that the owner was not wanting to update in hopes of saleing the home which is somewhat understandable. The smallest bedroom in the home did not have a ceiling fan which was needed. We always enjoy St George Island and plan to come back again possible in the fall but maybe we will look for a home that is alittle newer and more updated.

douglasville ga.great week at the beach
Left on 12/14/2009 for a stay in August 2009
we really enjoyed staying at cottage by the sea.
our family usually stays on the east end so the
location was a change for us, the best part was no
stairs to carry luggage up. the house was very comfortable and had a homey feeling. we really enjoyed sitting on the front porch, the ocean view was beautiful. we have talked a lot about the great
week we had at cottage by the sea and would like
to visit again. we have been visiting St. George
close to 20 years and we put this on one of our
favorite houses to visit list. -

Left on 01/18/2009 for a stay in August 2008
We had another house booked but when we arrived that house was nothing like the pictures. I went to the office and was treated very nicely, and they put us in this house. The house was great and had avery nice pool. We were very happy. Untill the power went out on the Island due to two broken power poles, caused by a waterspout. We had to leave early but will return to the Island and to Vacation Resort. The place is Great.
