We had a great vacation with grandparents, parents, and children [from 19 to 7]. Every year for the last 7 years we have rented a house at St. George for a family vacation. The spacious beaches, the wonderful weather, the great food, and most importantly the togetherness make for a great time. We have rented a variety of houses -- all beachfront. This house was really nice plus we had our own pool as well as the ocean at our doorstep. The only negative I had was that there was no elevator -- and that was only a problem when we were moving in and moving out.

This is the 5th year we have stayed in a Plantation rental on St. George Island. Doctor's Orders is our favorite so far. We loved being right on the beach but it was also great to jump in the private pool for a swim. The home was furnished beautifully...we loved that there were 3 sofas in the living room since there were 6 of us watching tv & dvds. The kitchen was well-equipped, plenty of furniture on the many balconies & everything in the home was clean & comfortable.

Once a year, my wife, two grown children, daugher-in-law and grandson have a week's vacation together. This year is was Doctor's Orders. We could not have asked for a nicer home, location and services from RVP, although we didn't need anything from RVP, everything was in "Order".
The beach is something to write home about, very beautiful, right out the front door and extremely private. The area has some of the best restaurants to be found, especially for local seafood.
The home is spacious, modern and everything works. The views from it are spectacular. Security is exceptional with a gated community. The pool is perfect.
There's plenty to do in the area for all; children's playground in town, beach, charter fishing, which we did, sightseeing, etc.
We flew our aircraft and used both the public airport in Apalachicola and the private one on SGI.
If I could come up with a complaint, it would be the stairs. An elevator would be nice, but obviously not practical. At least you'll get your exercise. Most properties on the beach are elevated for protection.

The photos do not accurately illustrate the view. It is gorgeous. The pool was well maintained. The bike trails through the community were another perk. We had a small maintanence problem and rental agency was very quick to respond. Enjoyed our week very much

The home is roomy, well air conditioned, located on the beach with
a private pool...for the most part a great house....BUT...in our
opinion there are some things to write about in a review. We would
not stay there again this coming vacation because:
1. It could stand updating and a thorough cleaning
2. When we arrived the microwave was broken. The rental people
replaced it very quickly. That was not a big deal.
3. This is supposed to be a "no pets" home, but within two days of
our stay without a pet...... our 6 month old grandson was on a
blanket on the floor and we found him covered in fleas. It was an
inconvenience for us to be out of the home for 3 hours while they
treated the home for fleas. Does anyone REALLY check to see if
people bring pets into a home during people's stay?
We did not ask for some sort of compensation because of this
situation, but thought it appropriate of the rental company to offer
us something. They barely apologized. This is a case of us NOT
being the proverbial "squeaky wheel" (the one that gets the grease,
you know!) We just had hoped at a place with this reputation would
have been more concerned and offered us something. Chances are
we would have said NO...but since they did nothing, we feel the
need to write this report.
