Maryville ILSo Spacious!
Left on 10/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012
With 8 adults and 3 babies the layout was perfect...especially for Nana and Papa who got to sleep on a separate floor. We loved having such a nice pool at our doorstep. The kids loved it. A pool for children will always be a necessity in future years. Enjoyed having morning coffee on the deck. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is that a couple bed linens had black hairs on them and we did have some trouble with the pool that prevented us from using it for a day or two.

Our Flying High vacation home was very comfortable and just fun to share with our grown children and their families. We had a great room & deck to be together, play games , & share meals. We also had plenty of privacy for our respective nuclear families, if needed. We enjoyed our path to the beach, our private pool, and the quiet street. Thank you for renting such a delightful island home.

For our yearly trip the SGI we chose "Flying High" for our week long stay. The house is gorgeous and seems to be well up kept. We did have an issue with cleanliness when we arrived. It seemed as if someone had cleaned some fish out on the patio and then put it in the freezer. The entire house smelled like fish when we first arrived. The patio furniture was covered in fish guts and the freezer was horrid. We called management and they handled it quickly and professionally which was nice. Also, the bedding in just about every room had sand in it. I understand this is a beach house but sandy bedding is preventable.
The pool is nice but we didn't see the cleaning man the entire week we were here. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and other cooking items like pots and pans which makes cooking at home easy.
The location is nice. Only a short, 3 minute walk to the beachfront on a well maintained trail. A/C unit works well and keeps the house at a comfortable temperature. The house could come equipped with more towels and wash cloths. Having to do laundry every single day while on vacation gets old fast.
People with mobility disabilities should probably find a different rental considering the common area/living room is at the top floor and there are a lot of stairs to get around the house. -

This house was absolutely gorgeous. It was close to the beach, had rockers and a hammock to relax in and had an inground pool. The best place we have ever stayed! Well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We loved the house and the island. We will definitely be back this summer.

Great house in a great location. Enjoyed the swimming pool and easy access to the beach. It was a wonderful week with the family. The only suggestion we have to improve the property is to upgrade the deck and patio furniture to make enjoying the beautiful outdoor spaces a little more comfortable.

Left on 01/11/2010 for a stay in October 2009
We had a wonderful vacation at this home. This is our 4th year on the plantation, and don't plan on vacationing anywhere else. My sister and her husband finally went with us this year. After we returned home she called to thank me for the best vacation ever. She owns her own company, and travels a lot. She doesn't have kids, but adores her nephews. This house provided enough space to allow her alone time, and family time. The only thing I would suggest is a baby gate large enough to cover the main level stairwell. The house is baby friendly, other than that. We had to really monitor the baby. We made a make-shift gate, but wasn't really secure. The only thing we will consider when looking for a different house this year is an elevator for my mother. But, if we dont find a house just as nice, we will return here anyway.

Thank you for sharing your vacation rental feedback with us. We are delighted that you and the family found Flying High to be well suited to your group. And we are absolutely thrilled to hear that your sister considers the trip “the best vacation ever.” Thank you for the suggestion about the baby gate. Many of our homeowners provide child friendly items such as high chairs, Pack-n-Plays and booster seats. Should you require any additional supplies during your stay, there is a party rental company close by that carries many items you might need. Thank you for your continued patronage. We look forward to having you as our guest again this October at Sea Rose.
Sincerely, Resort Vacation Properties

Left on 12/14/2009 for a stay in April 2009
The home was absolutely beautiful! There wasn't anything that we had to buy(other than our groceries).
We paid to have the pool heated, but the weather was so warm, we had to have the heat pump turned down. The pool "guy" came the same day we called. The pool temperature was almost 90 degrees.
We enjoyed the short walk to the beach, it was shaded by many beautiful trees and shrubs.
The only issue we had were the mosquitoes.
We are ready to return. -

My kids are still talking about this vacation. The home was well equipped with
lots of pots and pans and a great sound system. You can even listen to music
by the pool. This house is well positioned just a very short walk to the beach.
My only complaint is that the sofa beds were in bad shape. They weren't fit for
anyone older than about 4 years old to sleep. So, don't consider them in
determining how many people this house will sleep.Response from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 12/30/2009

Thank you so much for sharing your vacation rental experience with us. We’re all about making memories and we are so pleased that the kids are still talking about their vacation on St. George Island and their stay at Flying High. Having a vacation so memorable that they are still talking about it, is the best response we could ask for. Left on 06/23/2009 for a stay in June 2009
First let me say the bones of this house and its privacy and location make it one of the very best rentals in the Plantation but I do have some necessary complaints. It should be said that the home needed a thorough cleaning. Light switches, door knobs, stair rails and shower stalls have been terribly neglected. Broken furniture on the porches in desperate need of paint and mending and some of the beds' sheets and mattress pads were unclean leading us to rewash before sleeping on them. On a lighter note, the home was equipted with many pots and pans for simply luscious dinners. The swimming pool was a great retreat from the heat but we never saw the pool man all week and there was someone at the house at all times...we couldn't have missed him. I'm sure if I were the home owner I would be quite displeased with how my home were being cared for. We will definitely always find a week to get away at St. George Island each summer so hopefully our comments will help to employ better cleaning staff and general maintenance employs in the future.

We pulled the family together for a great week on the Island. The house was amazing! We had agreat time taking the boys shark fishing. Spending time relaxing on the large decks and beautiful pool was well needed.
I hope to come back again someday. I highly recommend this vacation home. Everything was great! -

The location of the home was nice for privacy and a very easy walk to the beach. The home was very well equiped for everything and we never had to search for anything to keep us busy. The kitchen is great for cooking in or grilling out, because their are not alot of restraurants in the area. There were a lot of great trails for running and biking and we had great fun setting up a tennis tournament that ran the whole week we were there.
This was not only a beautiful sight to vacation, but we would definately return to St. George again and also to FLYING HIGH.

In 2005, we rented Flying High for a week as one of two homes we
rented in the Plantation to house the two families for our oldest
daughters wedding. Our family stayed in Flying High and the
grooms family stayed in another home nearby. Since the couple had
met in graduate school and the families live 1200 miles apart, we
spent a lovely week getting to know the respective new in-laws
before the simple and intimate wedding on Friday, held on the main
porch of Flying High. It was a perfect place to celebrate their new
lives together and the owners were wonderful in helping us locate
photographers, florists, etc.
Therefore, when we wanted to rent a beach house for a couple of
weeks last summer we quickly agreed that Flying High was the place
for us. The first week we had our three daughters and two of their
husbands, my husband and myself in FH. The layout is wonderful
for 4 separate family units as each bedroom has a separate bath,
yet the open area of the kitchen/living area can accommodate a
whole crowd. The kitchen is outfitted for any type of cooking and
can turn out meals large or small. And the grill downstairs is easy
to use. Only an elevator for these old bones (and carrying up all
those groceries to the top floor) would make the house better. (I
also recommend the Owl Cafe for a special meal in Apalachicola.)
We especially enjoyed having the large, very private pool to duck
into and hang out after a fun time at the beach. Bikes and kayaks
(rented on the island) kept the most energetic of the young people
busy while I enjoyed the quiet hammock on the second floor porch.
The second week, our kids had to return to work, so we hosted
some old friends and their young daughters and they had just as
much fun as the slightly older generation had. What is not to like
about a beautiful home with all the amenities just a short walk from
the lovely SGI beach? If SGI were only a few hours closer to our
home it would be perfect. But its seclusion is one of the things that
makes SGI such a restful and delightful vacation spot and Flying
High is one of the nicest homes on the island. -

This will be my third consecutive year to stay at Flying High. Last year I meet with the maint.supervisor with a few written suggestions that I felt the owner was not aware of. The deck furniture had rotted and was needed to be replaced along with several other suggestions. I recieved a notice later that all had been completed. I plan to rent this unit every year as long as prices are competitive. Resort Vacation Properties is a well staffed and managed company.
