The high deck was our favorite meeting place for a glass of wine at the end of the day. We love st George island and high cotton. The house accommodated our group beautifully. Only downer was the kitchen appliances. Had to call about ice maker and dishwasher. Stove is very old and one burner was not working. Will rebook high cotton if these are corrected.

Positive: The house is huge and there is plenty of space for a large group or family. The elevator was nice when bringing up and down our luggage. The porches were nice and the view is amazing. The little boardwalk leading to the beach is in good shape. There are plenty of tvs (even though the remotes did not work).
Negative: The house seemed to be pretty dirty. There was mildew behind some of the pictures on the walls. The rugs and underneath all were dirty. Some of the doors to the porch are extremely difficult to open and close. The fridge never did get cold enough- which was aggravating.
Overall this was an okay house- we have stayed in better ones. I would only recommend to a friend if they fixed the fridge issue and cleaned better. -

Our stay was fantastic! There were 3 couples of us, and three young adult daughters. The house accommodated us nicely. All couples had their own bathroom in their bedroom, and the 3 girls shared the hall bath and remaining 2 bedrooms. We found several good places to eat in apalachicola and on the island. We also cooked in 3 nights during our week, the house had all we needed for dinner for 9. We took advantage of Jolly Rodger's on the island, renting bikes and booking a fishing trip.
The elevator wasn't working when we arrived, but a service man was sent the next morning, though we didn't use it much while we were there, it was very helpful when loading cars to leave.
We had a wonderful time, and we look forward to our next visit to the island. -

Perfect location; beautiful house. Two important things for make High Cotton perfect for us...easy flat access to beach and an elevator...perfect for our granddaughter who uses a wheel chair. Love the views and porches. House is comfortable and well equipped.
Two negatives
--The house was not as clean as I expect (wish I had not looked under the
dining room rug!). I expect that has been corrected.
--The owner raised the price and chose not to participate in any discounts or
special rates this year. Without the return rental and early booking discounts, and with the price increase, the house is costing almost $1,000 more than last year. Almost a deal-breaker for me, but I caved in.

french doors to porches either hard to open or won't open
no screened porch area to enjoy breeze/view w/out bugs
dried bird dropping all over rooftop deck and porch railings
patio furniture needs new cushions
one patio chair broken and tossed off to side on porch
no instructions on how to turn on stair lights to safely get to rooftop deck at night for star gazing
outdoor grill is small and impossible to scour clean
could use an additional outdoor grill

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay at High Cotton and we appreciate the thoughtful suggestions on the items you’d like to see amended in the home. With regards to the switches not being labeled – at this time, most switches in the house are labeled aside from a few hallway lights. All remotes are in good working condition at this time and electronics will be updated on an as needed basis. With regards to the water leaking out of the shower, we have received no additional reports of this issue and the shower was recently assessed and a leak was not found. The French doors leading to the porches are all in good working condition at this time. We apologize that there were bird dropping on the decks. From time to time a guest may feed seagulls from the decks & this can cause this issue. With regards to the patio furniture, the cushions have recently been assessed & any requiring replacement have been replaced. There are no broken chairs on the decks at this time. The light for the rooftop deck is on the corner right as you go up the stairs. Those lights are in good working condition at this time. We apologize that the park style grill did not meet your expectations. Again, we appreciate you sharing your feedback with us. We have passed your comments on to the homeowners for their review & consideration. Thank you for your patronage. We look forward to having you back as our guests again soon.

We loved our vacation home. It was very clean and well cared for. We couldn't have asked for anything better. All the master bedrooms had private decks with exceptional views. We had a wonderful time.

Rented this beautiful house for the Labor Day weekend. It was perfect for our family of five, as well as both sets of our parents (9 total guests) and could have accomodated more. House was very well kept. We did have a few minor maintenance issues arise, but I was very impressed with the responsiveness of the staff in getting them corrected timely (and on a Saturday). We will definitely plan a return visit.

As long time customers we continue to be over the top happy with the staff of Resort Vacation Rentals. Service could not be better. House was basically great - but the a/C struggled on the bedroom (2nd) floor and the furniture in the family room is past needing recovering..the sofa was pretty nasty...but we would rent there again. We arrived just as a strong tropical storm was landing on St. George and forced rain water through every little gap on the beach side of the house,the house gently swayed in the wind,but the beautiful home stood fast and protected us.Resort Vacation Properties quickly resolved all our minor issues and provided excellent customer service.The home "High Cotton" was very nice,with a perfect beach front location just out of reach of the beach croud but not too far from town center and a great price compared to equal sized homes on the beach. The only down side was limited parking for autos larger than a sub-compact and a reagular flow of beach goers passing under the house to access the homes private walkway to the beach.

My girlfriends and I have stayed on St. George several times over the last 15 years and we always rent High Cotton. We love the house and everything that comes with it. We highly recommend this vacation home (as long as you don't need it the same time we do). :)

The "High Cotton" has been the house we have rented 3 times in the last 4 years. Depending upon who is in the upstairs bedroom (some couple who can deal with others getting up earlier)it has been ideal for my family and other relatives. The surround porch is great if you have a toddler and you put up child gates at the stairs. Having a portion of the lower porch as a screen porch would make it even better. But still we think we will continue to use the "High Cotton."

Lots of family and friends can stay together for a time to celebrate. Wonderful decks,private rooms with bathrooms, view is great, great view of sunrise and sunset from the porch swing.
