MemphisTarnished a bit over the years
Left on 10/05/2012 for a stay in August 2012
I have made multiple trips to Island Dream on St. George Island over the last seven or eight years. Wonderful house, perfect location. But this trip we noticed a large mangled metal tent frame between the house and the ocean, a jacuzzi that didn't work and had (ugh) water standing in the drain, and generally dirty/hairy bathtubs and showers that we had to clean before we used them.
If the maintenance/upkeep had been up to its usual standards, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house. But management needs to start paying closer attention to detail. -

This house has great potential. The views are fantastic but come on, this place needs some new furniture. It was so 1980's inside we were laughing the whole trip. The over "nick nacked" dolphin display screamed my grandma owns this place. Forget the famous St. George Island uncrowded beaches that we have enjoyed for 13 years. The house is located right next to the public entrance to the beach. We were overrun with beach view, beach access renters all week. We mind as well have been in Panama City. We will not rent this house again.

This was our first visit to St George and we absolutely enjoyed the Island, the Plantations and Island Dream! The cottage was wonderful! We loved that fact that this is a pet friendly cottage and how well it was maintained. The two recommendations we would highly suggest are:
1)CD player / sound system - the little boom box single CD player is not acceptable and it would have been so nice to enjoy music
2) Gas grill - the park charcoal grill did not have enough surface area and outdatedResponse from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 03/23/2012

Knoxville, TNA beautiful place for a wonderful, relaxing vacation.
Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in October 2011
This is the sixth time my husband and I have vacationed on St. George Island. We love the island and love it even more since we have found Island Dream. The house is literally "on the beach" with gorgeous views of sunrises and sunsets. We feel like the beach belongs to us and we love to sit and look out at the water and watch for dolphins. We have been to many different beaches - this is the best by far!

Birmingham, ALFantastic views!
Left on 01/23/2012 for a stay in September 2011
We had a wonderful time with family and doggies at Island Dream? The panoramic view doesn't get any better. We loved the high ceilings and spacious floor plan in the living area, the well appointed kitchen, and plenty of bedrooms for our family. Every thing was clean and well kept. Only two problems: the spiral stairs to master bedroom need to go. We had a hard time getting small carryons upstairs! Second , we had no TV from Tuesday until we left on Saturday after the next door landscapers accidentally cut the cable. Inspite of Resort Vacations efforts, the cable company never responded. But we did not let that spoil our wonderful time there. We'll be back!

Kitchen not well stocked. No measuring cups or spoons. No corkscrew. Rvp did bring corkscrew. Problems with lights over circular staircase. Fixed mid week. Masterbath toilet problem not fixed all week. Had to go downstairs in middle of night down dark circular staircase. Interior needs updating.
Loved the views from the Master. The beach was great.Response from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 02/21/2012

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our request for feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed the beach but apologize that you experienced some maintenance issues during your stay. We apologize that the kitchen did not have all of the supplies you needed. We keep a number of items in stock & would have been happy to supply you with whatever you may have needed to make your stay more enjoyable. We apologize that you experienced trouble with the master bath toilet & we know that this was a terrible inconvenience. A part had to be ordered & unfortunately did not arrive during your stay. Due to our remote coastal location, replacement parts are not always readily available. What’s often routine elsewhere can be an adventure here. Again, we apologize for any discomfort or inconvenience you experienced during your visit. Thank you for your continued patronage. We’re so glad you chose to stay with us again this fall.

we have staying in Island Dream several times and love the overall house. The panoramic views and closeness to the beach, plus a great walk to Bob Sikes Cut. Plus, the privacy in the yard area is great with very pretty grounds.

Island Dream was a wonderful home to spend a week away from the rat race. The house has a very good location with St. George's pristine beach just steps away. The constant views of the ocean, given the large picture windows, were alone worth the price of admission. The master sitting area is one-of-a-kind. Beautiful home for time spent with family.

Louisville KentuckyThe perfect beach house
Left on 01/08/2010 for a stay in October 2009
To put it simply: Island Dream is everything it was
cracked up to be.
The location was fairly private (as private as one
can hope for on the beach) and the house was huge
and beautiful.
The floor to ceiling windows let in the sun and
made for a panoramic view of the gulf. This was
esp. nice when sitting in the jaccuzi style tub in
the master suite.
The beach was clean and less then 10 seconds away
from the front door.
My only complaints were a couple of outdated pieces
of electronics (the TV in the living room for
example) and some damage to the jaccuzi tub.
The island itself was a bit of a disappointment
with very little to do and next to no resteraunts.
But this might have been because of the time of
year that we went.Response from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 04/23/2010

Thank you for taking the time to share your vacation rental feedback with us. We are delighted that you found Island Dream to be the “perfect beach house.” Thank you for your suggestion about the TVs, we will pass this information on to the owners for their consideration. We apologize that St. George Island didn’t quite meet your expectations. We find that most of our guests come to St. George Island to enjoy the peace & serenity that the island offers. Walking on the beach, sunbathing, fishing, boating, kayaking and other natural pursuits are very popular. There are several good restaurants on the island and a number of terrific restaurants just over the bridge in Apalachicola. Should you choose to visit St. George Island in the future, we hope you will allow us to serve your vacation rental needs.

Brentwood, TNI enjoyed the home but had some issues.
Left on 01/07/2010 for a stay in June 2009
My family and I enjoyed the home. We particularly liked the decorating theme. The two issues that we had were 1. The master bedroom bed was terrible. It was unstable and was terribly squeaky. You could not turn over in the middle of the night without it making terrible squeaking noises. This bed needs to be replaced. 2. The TV is obviosuly decades old projection TV. You basically could not even see the picture. THis TV needs to be replaced. Other than that, we enjoyed our time as we always do on St George. We go over year, sometiems twice a year, but we would not stay again in this property.

The stairs to master bedroom were difficult to climb. TV reception was terrible. I sliced my toe on the sliding glass door metal strip and had to return home early because I couldn't enjoy the beach. Otherwise, the house was very nice.

Bartlett, TNFantastic home for small family
Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in August 2008
This is a fantastic home for a small family. The grounds are lushly
landscaped, so much so that the home could be mistaken for a
private residence. The roof has those really neat tile shingles that
really give the home some character, and it has a brick paver
driveway. And the house is elevated. There is plenty of room
underneath the house for parking and other activities that require
shade. There is a huge deck that spans the entire front of the
house with a great gulf view. It has some palm trees in just the
right locations, and the result is that you can spend time outside on
the deck in the shade at any time of the day. Inside, the main
hallway and the great room are huge. The two story windows give
you this incredible view of the beach and the gulf. We absolutely
loved the way the house was decorated. The dolphin themed tables
and the accessories gave it a homey, nautical feel. The kitchen
includes high-end appliances. The master suite is on the top floor
and is really nice. There is a loft area with seating off of the master
bedroom that looks out over the living room and has incredible gulf
views through the two-story windows. One possible issue with the
second floor is that it is only accessible via a narrow spiral
staircase. Also, the shower stall on the second floor is too small
and has too much water pressure. Island dream has a central
location which make it great for bike riding. You can either head to
Plantation entrance or else head for Sikes Cut. -

We spent Thanksgiving at Island Dream and it could not have been more perfect! We had stayed there several times before over the last 5 years and knew this would be a great place for our family to gather for the holiday, which it was! It was the best Thanksgiving all of us had experienced in many years. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation and we will definitely be visiting again in the near future.
