Atlanta Family Get-away
AtlantaThe best roomy relaxing get-away beach house.
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in June 2011
The service from the rental office was wonderfully friendly. I felt like they were friends of ours. There were three families who came and shared this beautiful home for a 7 day get-away. The two families with small children loved all the space. On one level there was a room for watching TV and playing games. On another level of the house was another great room for family get together as well as the large eat in kitchen. The wrap around porches were a great place for the grandparents to have their quiet morning coffee. The pool was just a little walk away from the house so the little ones could not see it from the house and try to get in it without supervision. Out of sight out of mind for the little ones. Every morning we could see that the pool had been attended to.The fallen leaves were cleaned up and the pool area swept. The house was beautifully decorated and felt spacious not stuffy. The location was perfect as we were able to walk just 5 mintues if that much to the gorgeous uncrowded beach. The beach had one other family on it the whole time we were there in early June. Everything was clean and when we did call once for some information of the rental office and they came right away to help us with what ever we needed. Our family hated to leave this gorgeous ome and hope that someday we can return again to Maison Mer.

Palm Beach Gardens, FloridaBeautiful house in a fantastic location
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We had a wonderful vacation. Super location, Beautiful beaches. Nice sea bathing. Only one day the sea was full of sea weed. The house was well appointed, with everything we needed. Could not ask for more. The only problems we encountered were minor- the lock to the sliding door leading out to the verandah on the bottom floor malfunctioned, so we kept it locked at all times, and one of the burners to the stove also malfunctioned, so we did not use that burner. The mosquitoes were not that bad. We enjoyed the pool immensely. Fantastic vacation Resort. We would surely like to come again sometime in the future. We will definitely recommend your Resort to our friends.
God Bless,
Noel. -

Greensboro, NCBest vacation...again!
Left on 10/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
I believe this is the 5th year I've rented Maison Mer for our family vacation. We love it!!! Lots of clean, comfortable living space; a fantastic screened deck on the top floor where the family gathers in the evening; a sparkling, relaxing pool for during the day; to-die-for bathrooms in both masters! The proximity to the beach makes it an easy trek to the sand whether you plan it or make it a spur-of-the-moment highlight. The pool is my favorite spot to spend the entire day. The newly relocated market offers even more variety and services than the previous store although I would still recommend bringing most of your food with you if you are travelling with a large group like we do. I will almost certainly rent Maison Mer again as it's my favorite spot in the whole world!

St. Louis, MOMaison Mer was a fabulous, relaxing vacation.
Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We blended two families, so the two master suites (on different floors) worked out perfectly. Nice features included both screened and unscreened large porches. One of the men claimed the hammock! The kitchen was well-stocked with pots & pans, utensils, glassware, appliances, etc. Covered parking was plentiful. Creme de la creme was the pool. It was large, clean, and had a roomy lounging area. The landscaping was lush, feeling like our own little oasis. We loved the pool. Just a few minutes down a sandy path was the beach. Fun, fun time. (We rented bikes for the week. Highly recommended. Also take the time to visit the state park.)

This is the third time our group has stayed in Maison Mer. We love the seperate living areas, the comfortable furniture, and the ping pong table gives the kids something to do. The walk to the beach is scenic and not too long, but the mosquitoes were terrible. It has lots of stairs and would not be a good house for older or disabled folks.

My husband and I were returning to St. George Island after a 15 year absence. We were joined by 2 of our 3 adult children and a couple of their friends. We also brought our yellow lab. The house was magnificent. We loved everything about it and we spent most of our days at the private pool. The location of the house allowed a lot of privacy and yet it was a very short walk to the beach. My only complaint is that I would have liked a little more of a view of the water. But, that is a personal preference. The house was fully stocked and there was no need to bring anything but your food, clothes, suntan lotion and a good book. The owner was wonderful and the rental agency was great as well. All in all, it was a perfect vacation and we would rent this house again in a heartbeat.

Left on 07/09/2009 for a stay in June 2009
During our stay at Maison Mer, we received excellent service as did have a few issues w/one of the bathrooms as well as a power connection for one of t.v.'s in a bedroom. But the issues where quickly addressed. The home was very nice and well appointed and the location to the beach was awesome as well. The pool was also a big plus for our family as everyone really enjoyed the volleyball net! Probably the thing our grouped liked least was the # of mosquitoes as seemed to be very bad this year. But our family had no complains about the property itself as felt very blessed to be able to take a vacation this year and look forward to being able to return next year - Lord willing!

Left on 06/18/2009 for a stay in June 2009
The house is in great shape, well decorated, well stocked, and spacious. My wife and I had our three sons and their families for a week. This house was perfect for such a gathering. We loved the island and the very uncrowded beach. Our only complaint was the "no-see-ums" which were very annoying. They bit unmercifully at the pool. They even came through the screen around the porch. Mosquitoes attacked on the way to the beach. We hope to return to St. George Island for another week next year, but only if we can get a house on the beach with a pool. Down on the beach, the bugs didn't bug us!
We will definitely use Resort Vacation Properties again. We couldn't have asked for better treatment.Response from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 06/30/2009

Dear Okie Tom,
We are pleased to hear that you were able to spend some time with all of your family and that Maison Mer provided pleasurable accommodations for you. We sympathize with you about the mosquitoes and "no-see-ums." Sometimes they're barely noticeable and then we struggle through the next wave. Thankfully, the bad times are usually pretty brief. We appreciate your kind words about our company. There are a lot of slogans and such out there but we really mean it when we say that our goal is to make sure you have a stress-free stay. The quality and cleanliness of your accommodations should be the last thing you think about while you are on vacation. That our staff contributed to your positive experience is very satisfying and we appreciate your willingness to share this with others. We hope you will return soon to the island and remember that because you will be a returning guest, you will receive 5% off. You can also reserve now with only $500 deposit and if you do so by September 30th, 2009, you will receive an additional 5% off. We thank you again for choosing Resort Vacation Properties and Maison Mer for your accommodations and we look forward to seeing you again soon. -

Left on 03/02/2009 for a stay in October 2008
This was a beautiful home but there were some issues we had to deal
with. First the pool heater was broken which was a real bummer since
the weather had just turned a little cool. The kids could not get in the
pool at all.
Also, the stove burners were not working properly. We were not
notified that a repairman was going to show up during the week but
he did.
Mosquitoes were absolutely viscious!
All in all it was a great vacation. This was the first vacation that our
whole family was able to attend. We all felt very safe.Response from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 06/01/2009

Hello Carol!
We have great news - the cook-top in Maison Mer was recently replaced with a brand new Jenn-Air gas cook-top. All of the burners work great and the first few guests to be able to use it were very pleased.
We are also glad to note that the pool heater was also replaced and is working fine now.
We hope you will come back this Fall and stay with us again. -

Left on 02/02/2009 for a stay in July 2008
We loved this house - plenty of room - big bedrooms and baths. Big porches. The pool is a little separated from the house but close enough. We reported a broken showerhead and the repairman was there right away. We love St. George properties because they have always been well kept, very clean and bug-free. I don't go on vacation to put up with bugs! We would definitely stay here again.

Winder, GAFantastic Florida Vacation Spot
Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in August 2008
Our family of 9 spent a week at Maison Mer on St George's Island, Florida last August. We had a wonderful time. The house is spacious, clean and well-equipped for just about anything you can think of. The two master bathrooms are to die for! The upstairs, screened-in porch is THE place for the family to hang out in the evenings and play cards or just talk.
It was a short walk to the beach. The walk to the beach was a little overgrown which I didn't like but others may be ok with that.
Property management was very responsive to any questions or concerns.
We cooked on the grill most nights. You'll want to bring most of your groceries or be prepared to pay higher prices on the island. There's plenty of room to keep a week's worth of food though!
Our entire family had such a good time that we've rented it again for this coming year!

Clarksville, TNGreat for large groups
Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in September 2008
We rented Maison Mer for our family of 5, my sister's family of 4, our parents, and my husband's mom - 12 people in all. The house was great for this number of people. Everyone had plenty of space to spread out, and the gathering spaces were cozy without being crowded. The kitchen was beautifully appointed, though we quickly found that more than 2 cooks began to bump elbows. The moms in the group didn't mind that though - we just went to the hammock or the pool instead! The pool was perfect for our family with small children. It had sufficient room for strong swimmers to play but the little ones could hang on the stairs in the shallow end. Our favorite area was the screened in porch. The huge table was excellent for dining and playing games or putting together puzzles, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit together in the evenings and enjoy the breeze.
Our only complaints were the beds. While the two master suites were great, and the trundle bed worked out well for the two boys, the other beds were small and hard as rocks. The bedroom with the sailing theme downstairs had a particularly uncomfortable mattress, and with sun streaming in the thin blinds at 6 am, we got little restful sleep. If the blinds in that room could be made thicker or a more comfortable mattress were there, the stay would have been perfect.
Oh, and don't forget the bug spray! That's not the fault of the house, but we've been to St. George Island many, many times and have never had mosquitos as bad as they were in Sept. '08. Thanks for a wonderful stay otherwise! -

Our family wanted a house big enough for 13 so that we could all spend a week together to celebrate our 40th anniversary, This home was ideal!! Two family rooms and lots of bedroom!!! Space to spread out and video games too!!
2 levels meant plenty of space and we loved the screened porches. The kitchen was well stocked and there was enough seating around the table!!
The pool was woderful and close by. The beach a few steps away was also great!! The ice cream store in town was a great evening treat several days.
All around a place for kids from 2 to 62!! -

MissouriFamily Spring Break
Left on 01/16/2009 for a stay in March 2008
We try to take a family vacation to Florida every spring. Last year we tried St. George for the first time. We could not believe how peaceful life on the island was. The setting of this home made us forget we had neighbors. We could barely see or hear them. The home interior is beautiful and had everything we needed. One of my favorite things was the large table on the screened in porch. We have a large group and it was great to be able to sit together for meals. The two living areas made it nice when people wanted to do their own thing. There was plenty of room when we wanted to be together as well. I love the home and have already rented it for 2009.
The one issue we had was that the heater on the pool was not working correctly. The problem was really with the pool person who kept telling us it was fixed when it was not. We never did have a constantly heated pool. The property people were very understanding and refunded our money. I would have prefered a heated pool but I trust the problem will be solved this year. With a working heater the house is a 5 star. -

I doubt if you will want to publish this, but we were terribly disappointed in this house.
The furniture was very dirty, kitchen was too small, appliances were old, no screens on french doors on lower level. Some doors did not close tight because deadbolts
Location of house does not allow sun to shine in.
