Marietta, GeorgiaLoved everything about this sweet place!
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Tony and I have been to St. George many times and always loved being on the island. The Sandpiper Cottage was our most favorite place ever! We loved the coziness of the cottage. We brought our 3 yr old Great Pyrenees, Luna for her first beach trip and she had a fantastic time. The deck area around the house gave her a safe place to be without us having to worry about her getting away. The pool was awesome and felt so private even though we were on the main street. The landscaping was gorgeous and we were lucky to be there for the butterfly invasion. The weather was perfect and we cannot wait to return to this little slice of paradise. The keyless check in was really cool! We will be back.

Lafayette, LA.Great place!
Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We love St. George Island and Sandpiper Cottage. This house was not only well maintained, but it was as close to beach front as you can get-without being on the beach. It was also within walking distance to shops and resturants. The pool was very nice and certainly big enough to accomidate 3 kids. My only complaints are that the bathrooms are very small and the deck needs to be sanded. My daughter got a very large splinter while walking on the deck. It did require a trip to the docter.

Bainbridge GAGreat house and excellent location
Left on 02/04/2012 for a stay in June 2011
The rental company was very helpful and friendly. Not only was the house setup to take care of our needs but also the needs of our two dogs. The landscape was great and the pool was wonderful. The location of the house made you feel like you were on the beach instead of across the street. The living space was great with the way that the kitchen was open to it but the bathroom outside of the back bedroom could use a little help. There were not plugs in there and not cabinet space. Also the sprinkler system need some adjustment as it was sending a lot of water out into the street.

Dallas, GAWhere's the beach?
Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in May 2011
Sandpiper Cottage is very comfortable and was extremely clean. Everything that you could possibly need, kitchen-wise was there, and the kitchen itself was huge. However, the stove was very accessible to little hands and, with a toddler, we had to be exceptionally vigilant. And, although clean, the bathrooms were microscopic. However, we didn't spend much time in there, so it was okay. The pool was also a nice addition to our week there. We had dogs with us and they loved the fenced yard and the deck where they lounged a lot of the time.
My main beef with Sandpiper is that, in the advertisement, it said that it had an ocean view. (I believe that had since changed.) There was none. Storms and other natural occurances had moved the dunes in such a way that there was no view. We were so disappointed as we were used to staying on the beach and couldn't see or hear the ocean. There is a public access right across the street and on the weekends, the house is surrounded by the cars of people using the access. However, the owners sent a Christmas ornament with a nice note stating their plans for adding on to Sandpiper to get the view back. And also plans to enlarge the bathrooms. Hooray!
All in all, the house is fine, and especially for older vacationers, as it is all one level. But from now on, we will be staying on the beach. Our best to the owners and their future endeavors!
Liked best: the coziness and cleanliness of the house and the kind response of the owners.
Liked least: no beach view -

Our stay in Sandpiper Cottage was very enjoyable. The location is close enough to the restuarants and shopping on the island to make it really convenient to go but not so close as to be bothered by any noise. Being directly across the road from an access point to the beach is wonderful.

Dallas, GAHad a great time!
Left on 05/27/2011 for a stay in May 2011
This was our first stay in Sandpiper Cottage. The description said that the view of the ocean was "unobstructed". Not so. You can't see the ocean from the cottage and we were very disappointed in that. The view is obscured by the dunes. You would have to get up on the roof to have that unobstructed view. Also, since the walkover to the beach is public, there are tons of cars parked around the house on the weekend. However, the landscaping is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and, because we love St. George Island, we had a great time. The bathrooms are minuscule, that was okay. Didn't spend too much time in there. :>) The pool was nice, albeit shallow. There needs to be a "No Diving" sign put up.

Resort Vacation Properties was very helpful and attentive to all our questions and concerns during our stay. We would highly recommend renting from RVP.
The Sandpiper was a comfortable property, only issue was the very small bathroom facilties, rather tight.

Left on 03/27/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We enjoyed every minute of our week at the cozy and homelike Sandpiper Cottage. The beautiful beach was only steps away and we appreciated the natural beauty of the Island. We had a lot of fun riding bikes to the St. Park and climbing to the top of the lighthouse for wonderful views. The highlight of our trip was a cruise with Captain Walt of Eco Cruises. He was very knowledge of the area and a true animal lover. He went the extra mile to make sure we saw the magnificant wild life of the river including alligators, osprey and bald eagles.

Making reservations and handling the paper was very easy. Having lock codes made pre-check in also very easy.
We enjoyed our stay and found everything to be as represented. Sandpiper Cottage is very comfortable and well-equipped. My husband is somewhat handicapped and watches television often during the day. Do to the placement of the set, it was difficult to see the picture because of glare from the windows.Response from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 02/04/2011

Beyond expectations! Sandpiper Cottage is a well thought out vacation house. It is decorated in very eye-pleasing and soothing themes. The interior layout is private yet airy and open. The deck and grounds are lovely and the pool area is very well kept. Info is readily available for the area, along with comments from previous travelers. This is a place that I would imitate if I owned a vacation rental property!
The rental company was extremely helpful and quite easy to work with.
I'm not sure if I want to recommend this to anyone as I want to be able to return!! Guess I'll have to get my reservation in soon!!

We had the time of our lives. The house was perfect. So was the location, the weather and OH MY GOSH THE FRESHEST SEAFOOD. We couldn't ask for a more wonderful vacation spot. Right on the beach, plenty of room to stretch out, a gourmet kitchen AND laundry room! The pool was unheated, but we still swam every day! The sun was warm enough in March so that we didn't need a heated pool! The owners are wonderful, the office folks are great, and we will be back this year and next and every year to come! =D

Woodridge, ILNice cozy cottage
Left on 12/18/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Our stay here was very nice. It is a small cottage, but it was just what we needed for this visit. In past years, we have traveled with friends and have stayed in some of the super-sized homes on the Plantation side. It was just me, my husband, my 1 1/2 yr old daughter and our 2 dogs. The location is great, very close to the beach & the pool is really nice. The only thing I think guests should know is that the bathrooms are very small, neither the showers or the sinks are regular sized. All in all, we had a great time, the cottage was just roomy enough for us and no stairs within the home was a big plus!!

We received excellent service from both Resort Properties and the owner. We didn't have any problems, but did have a couple of questions which were answered professionally and timely. The home itself is in a great location and very comfortable. The pool and butterfly garden are secluded and really make the place. Walk across the street and you're at the gulf! We live in a beach town and were just trying to get our family together after my father's passing for some down time. It was a TERRIFIC vacation.

Sandpiper Cottage is our favorite place to stay. The landscaping is beautifully lush and provides an extra margin of privacy around the inviting pool area. Inside the cottage is floridian decorated and comfortably furnished, the kitchen well stocked. The outside decks are large with gates to keep pets from running loose and a grill just outside the gate. Just across the street is the boardwalk leading to a wide, uncrowded, sandy beach. The cottage is conveniently located only streets away from shopping, groceries, gas and a new playground for the kids. We very much look forward to returning here yearly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandpiper Cottage. This was our third trip to St George, and liked this property the best primarily for logistical reasons. The only negative was the inability to get DSL service. Our air card did not work well either. Due to our work issues, this caused a great deal of stress. Otherwise, when our week was up, my wife had to pry my fingers off the door jam to get me out of the cottage and into the car to return home.

The owners were very kind and accomodating. The perfect pet palace as the entire deck is enclosed. Clean w/ all amenities. Our family of four had a great time with plenty of space. I love that the kitchen is open to the living area. It allowed our family to really be together.
